It was quite a shock when coming here but this was recorded in Mansoura in Feb 2022. It was still during pandemic time, the economy was bad and I believe everyone is struggling at that time. What's more shocking, few months later, at the very same street that I walked on happened a gruesome murder in front of the uni gate by a guy who got rejected by a girl. It was such a sad, unbelievable and terrifying news. Life is so much more than that.

On other note, welcome to Malaysia

      Thank you☺️.
Thats so gruesome to hear. One guy had to visit atm or something to get cash money, leaving his loved one in taxi. The taxi driver drove off, what happend was the passenger was murdered and his organs were taken. Probably to sell it in black market. Thats so disgusting. May Allah protect us, aameen

Where did that happened? I do feel warry & cautious to withdraw the money on ATM at the street on my first day coming to Cairo. I think I heard about the same thing from others. Let the man board in first and ladies board out first in taxi/van. All of us are female travellers and alhamdulillah Allah protected us throughout our journey.

Come on Bilal. Accidents happen in Egypt as in every country; the incident that you have mentioned is nothing more than a fiction.
Generally speaking Egypt is safe, and the police takes extra precautions for the safety of foreigners. No need to worry about your sister.
As for the things in the video, Specialized Print shops aren’t common here, we typically print papers in stationeries. The building elevators work with cards, and they are for residents only. Unfortunately, most of the buildings in local areas don’t follow strict construction rules, and they cut corners in elevators doors etc.
Lastly, you have to be adamant with beggars, and you can ask any of the people around you or any shop for help if you feel uncomfortable.

The Egyptian tourist police is very heavy-handed, report any crime to them and the offender would be arrested in a matter of hours

Thanks for the info. Would definitely do a police report if the theft involving valuables happened. Since the attempt was unsuccesful I'll just let her be. I don''t have the heart to report such a young kid, plus I'm leaving the next morning.

Thank you for your kind words. We did hire a private tour for our travel in Aswan & Luxor. This video was recorded at my sister's place at Mansoura, it's not really a tourist destination. We're so used to travelling the world on our own but I do agree when travelling in Egypt, going with a guide & tour groups is the best option.

Wow I can't believe you couldn't find a print shop they are everywhere
We call them bookshops (مكتبات )
Some small markets have printer and cooy machine especially in populated areas and near education centers

    • @halalogy
      @halalogy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for the info. I didnt know there's a printing facilities inside a bookshop, that's uncommon in Malaysia as normally we have a dedicated print shop. As a traveller, I normally ask our hotel to print for us but since I was staying at my sister's house I had to find the print shop. This was recorded in Feb 2022 during semester break. Not sure if print shop closedown due to pandemic as classes became online. I've pretty much walked on 2km return journey but still cant find them. Two of print shop shown on the map were non existence, one of the building looks like under construction. In the end I had to call my sister and she told me a print shop but its not the main street but rather it is in a small & dark alley.

@@halalogy BTW the elevators didn't work cause they need an access card (small round nfc tag )This is very common in mixed building where businesses are in lower 3 or 4 floors and the rest is residential to give residents priority
For offices we mostly use stairs or dedicated elevators

@@halalogy Google maps is not commonly updated in Egypt except Tourist distentions
As Egyptians we mostly use it while driving from one area to another but not to find a shop but in recent years this situation changed dramatically

It was hard for a traveller like me 😅 because in Malaysia we use Google Map for everything. All business owners adds their shop on the map so people know their location, can look for reviews and recommendation. It's a win-win for both business owners and customers.
