Took my levelmate pro out of my old camper and need to put it in my new camper. Watched your video and saw where you mounted yours. I was gonna put mine in the front closet, but saw where you mounted yours and changed my mind. Makes perfect sense to mount it where you can reach it with the stairs in. Thanks for making setup just a little easier.
I just set mine up early this morning in the Walmart parking lot before anyone got there... The only somewhat level place near me... One thing that stood out to me that I must have missed was that you RETRACT your slide outs before setting it to level. Level your rig with the slides out and get it the way you’d like it, but then pull the slides back in before setting it to level. If you don’t read the fine print in the set up, you could overlook this...
I prefer the old school way. Keep yelling back and forth at each other in the dark while getting frustrated and stacking wood to drive on. That's how it's done correctly.
We have the LevelMate Pro also. My only complaint with it is, because we have aluminum siding on our camper, the bluetooth signal has trouble getting from the camper to my phone in the truck cab. I've finally figured out where I need to put my phone while leveling, and as long as I can keep signal, it works great. I think if you have azdel or fiberglass exterior on your camper, you won't have this problem. I had to put mine in the pass-through storage all the way up at the front corner driver's side. I had to put it there to get enough signal to the truck cab.... again, we have aluminum exterior on our PrimeTime Avenger. When I calibrated our unit, I used the stovetop as the reference surface for leveling the camper. Nobody want's to cook on an off level stove, LOL. Worked great!!
Looks like a great addition to your camper. Will save lots of time for both of you. Wish they would have had that when I was traveling. that would have saved me at least 10,000 steps setting up by myself. Lol
Idk if you still use the LevelMatePRO or not, but I just modded mine by soldering a 12vdc to 3.3vdc adapter in place of the battery since I was chewing through batteries if I forgot to turn it off, which was often 😂 Took like 20min, $8 and done!
Arrived at my next RV site, and talk about easy drive back and forth a few times to get level side to side. Just had to unhitch to get the front to level!! Woohoo! Great for a solo RV’er!!
The wife and I are like you and Abby, new to owning a Travel trailer. While I like your other channel, We watch Abom Adventures together, and are liking the rv related videos very much. Please do more, any videos on the dreaded black water hose or system would be funny.
There is at least one Android app ($1.99) which runs on two phones at the same time. You lay one phone on the kitchen counter-top, and walk around with the other one. Adjust your jacks until the kitchen is level.
Yes. When I set the absolute zero settings I made sure the camper was level both ways using my carpenters level. I had the slide out when doing so. It’s as close as you’ll ever need to be.
Adam, it sounds as if you referenced the floor or the frame. Have you checked the floor of the freezer compartment to see if the refrigerator is installed square with the rest of the trailer? The frig is the most important thing to have level (assuming you have a typical RV frig). You might want to check the frig manual for more info.
@@AbomAdventures Indeed, the fridge SHOULD be mounted square...but I can tell you from experience that they are not always. Also, if you spend much time on RV forums you might get the idea that dealer advice can be suspect. It's easy and fast to double-check with a round level (easiest, of course, when it is thawed). Thanks for sharing the install.
@@AbomAdventures Exactly. In fact in the manual for my 2015 Norcold N61X fridge, it states leveling tolerance to be a generous ±3° side to side & ±6° front to back of fridge to operate safely. That's plenty, so no worry there (even though everyone does). THUS, best choice for me is to accurately level up our stove top cooking grate surface. Because everything else will still be very close as you've pointed out. For us the most important thing, the fried eggs & sizzling bacon, will be our morning's delight! So I am getting this unit and setting it level based on the cook top. As you know this unit measures the differences (side to side & front to back) from the set point of YOUR choosing. So it needn't be mounted perfectly level AND you can reset that "trailer level set point" any time again in the future. For example, if one wants to reset it to the cook top, dining table, bath door, counter top (for recipe measuring), or whatever surface you'd like to be at its level best, it's okay. Happy Camping! 😎
I just got one and im guna install in a winnebago motorhome...so does it go off the level of your trailer when you install or does it have it own level inside, ie it doesnt matter if my trailers not level
Once you install it you must calibrate it’s to the level of your unit. So make sure you have your camper as level as you can using traditional methods, then set the calibration on your Level mate to that.

Good job, man! I like that you went through the logic and the install. You showed each major stop but kept the video moving. Many thanks.

Mount as far forward in trailer so distance to your phone is as short as possible with you in driver's sear.
I added mine in an outside compartment near the front of the trailer for easier access.
I like that Adam , Thanks for the Vid man ! ENJOYED
That's a really cool device. I didn't know something like that even existed.
I'm glad that your installation didn't interfere with the warning sticker that your trailer might cause reproductive harm. lol

I use one of those little dewalt dewalt radios and a JBL charge 3, they are awesome!
I used it serval times , it shows different levels from rv’s front and back, quite confusing which number I should trust.
@7:11 Once a machinist.... always a machinist. 😂😂😂😂
Great Video. The recall hitch position is worth it alone :) Sidenote: WAYYYYY to many ads from youtube, makes it very unpleasant. Must of been 7?
Adblock Plus... You're welcome!
A clever little device.
A fellow camper that's also a biker with fast food trays for hardware containment.
I figured you used Starrett machinist levels to set your camper up. lol
The problem is the bubble moves around too much 😁
You should have used a Starret precision level just for the kicks.
Thanks for the video A&A.
Does this level include for slideout weight?
I don have a internet connection do I need it for the app?
Can it be mounted outside? On the frame rail under my landing gear switches would be great.
Instructions say to mount inside out of weather.
I would bet the front pass through would be a great place to mount this gizmo.
@@AN-kg4ei That's where I ended up putting mine.
Would it matter if your slide outs are extended or retracted before leveling?
Yes. When I set the absolute zero settings I made sure the camper was level both ways using my carpenters level. I had the slide out when doing so. It’s as close as you’ll ever need to be.

Leveling floor is all that’s needed, and the dealers will show their customers that. Fridge should always be mounted squarely to framing.
