Having seen Shane drive the project 91 car at the NASCAR event in Chicago I'm now following these amazing cars and drivers in this amazing series. You guys are awesome. I'm a 70 year old from Rhode Island USA. I heard of the V8 super cars years ago but it was never shown over here. Now that TH-cam exists I'm a follower. Incredible racing!
And you get to watch it all over again tomorrow for another 250km

Thanks for watching from the States. To be honest, I enjoyed it more when Scotty McLaughlin was in the series. I'm a big fan of his. A very tough series with really talented drivers. I would like to see some NASCAR drivers come over & hve a go as co-drivers.
@@SuperRoo_22 I’ve been watching Supercars for more than 20yrs now.
I was fortunate enough to actually see them in person when they came to Texas (and even got a special credential from 7 who was doing the broadcast)!
I, honestly, don’t think that there are very many current NASCAR drivers would actually be able to be competitive in a Supercars.
I do believe that if something like that were to come together it would boost the visibility and households watching from both countries.

@@dennissamuels69 I would just like to see how they would go. Wether they are competitive or not is different story. But you're right, the crossover would be beneficial for both series as we hve recently seen with SVG in Chicago. You should try and come & watch Bathurst or the Gold Coast street race when or if you can one day. 2 races I would like to see live one day too. I'm on the otherside of Australia from those locations though. Russell Ingall is a Legend of the sport. Obviously knows the cars & series inside out. Great bloke.
No doubt there’s gonna be an influx of US viewers thanks to SVG racing and winning up here in NASCAR last weekend.
Can I just say as a long time fan of both series, and fading interest in one series, how I appreciate that the Supercars commentary team over the NASCAR commentary team for:
1: Not over-hyping what’s happening on track/screen.
2: Clearly explaining things that might cause confusion.
3: Not talking to the audience like they’re a bunch of 2 year olds.
I've been following V8 Supercars from the US for a little over a year now, and it's fantastic to see how much SVG's Chicago win has spread the sport to new fans! One thing I will just say- I strongly recommend any new fans to go on Wikipedia and look up maps of the circuits that Supercars race on. These racetracks have a certain unique character to them that is hard to describe,; at least to me, they feel distinct from the circuits in Europe or the USA. I think Tasmania is the track that first made me do research into the V8 race calendar. Worth checking out if you're a racing nerd like me!
but they cried and moaned to slow the mustang down until they could beat it now mustang can never win, it's not a competition it's very very bias, it always has been , it's GM Australia beating up on Ford Australia it's all set up like dominos for GM to beat on Ford it's extremely pathetic , all Ford fans laugh at this bs fake competition,

As an American, this really does remind me of NASCAR. Then excitement, the energy, everything about it is badass. Love it!!
More like IMSA and Trans AM series. Not so much nascar till recent years.

This was a pretty entertaining race in my opinion. Disappointing to see Cam's performance decrease at the end but still great entertainment. Can't wait to see the second race!

Ignoring the rear wings, these cars looks more stock than NASCAR
That was the idea of gen 3 was to get the cars looking like there road going counterparts. I believe that 70% of the cars body are directly off of a road car
@@nemesisf1 That similarity is only skin deep though.
The chassis under it is parity controlled across both makes to ensure parity. (or so they claim)
GT3 cars are much more stock than these. A lot of them run the bog standard engine out of the original car (since the GT3 version actually makes less power than a roadgoing Ferrari 296 GTB for example).

NASCAR drivers were somehow nicer to SVG, despite many saying he would get taken out in Chicago. There's literally no rules for contact in NASCAR.

So what was that whole "Parity" argument that has been going on recently?
The argument was that the Mustangs used their tyres more harshly making their back end of tyre set pace poor compared to the Camaro. What they've done is add a 3mm Gurney Flap and a deck lid spoiler to generate more rear downforce to reduce the wheel spin.
That the different bodywork and engines (the rest of the "two" models like the suspension and chassis are both exactly the same) that are supposed to perform exactly the same, do not necessarily do so.

The thing I really like about this series is the fact that it is much more like real life, the Camaro's are just better cars, on and off the track, in fake NASCAR they can make a frumpy four door Toyota faster than a Camaro, just hand them a Chevy engine, give them a better aero package, boom there you have it, lesser drivers in cars that in normal conditions, could not win any kinda race, winning, very sad.
This series has predominantly been real life Australian four doors .
Toyota develops their own engines and aero dynamics. To a point I understand what you are saying but it’s not a Chevy engine and their drivers aren’t inferior just because they are in a Toyota (Kyle Busch is doing just fine in a Chevy for example)

@@jackarmstrong7285 Not true, all engines in the cup series are based on the RO7, Toyota does nothing to disguise it, Ford dresses it up to appear like a Ford engine, NASCAR 100% controls the aero of every make, thus now that the cars are restricted to exactly the same horsepower and torque, the bodies should be the same also, but they are not, so very slight changes can give one make or another an advantage, and at least the top 5 drivers in NASCAR are behind the wheel of a Chevy, including Toyotas one shining star, so to speak, the best drivers in NASCAR are being penalized for being just that, very sad times for Chevy, very sad times for the drivers and very sad times for NASCAR and their woke equity program, but like you said the cream always raises to the top, he Camaros are the best cars with the best drivers.

I've been watching him for years. It's amazing how few actual collisions he's had. Part of this intimidation, I guess. But a lot of it sheer car control.

THIS racing Series used to mean something , now it s a farcical JOKE, a Car (body type) Runs in the Series that you cant even purchase in Australia so what is the point of it being there, is it supposed to be remnants of Ford v Holden/Chev ? The death of this series cant come quick enough
