    The XMOS DAC used in this model is 30$. It sounds fantastic for monitoring, I´ve been using it for a few years but it´s far from a clockable high end DAC. The build quality of both the desktop and the rack front plate is outstanding in my opinion.

    Now we only need to find a great $1K CD Transport! Some of us 70yr "Old Timers" think that anything using a USB cable should only be used for PCs not Music DACs. I think a lot of those in the Music Industry have confused the importance of Hi Fidelity rather than Hi Rez. I wonder if my observations are influenced by my using a Equi=Tech Model Q Balanced Power Transformer Line Conditioner (Which I bought at a "steal" @2k 20yrs ago.) It's pretty amazing how Low the Noise Floor is, with High Dynamic Contrasts, I'm getting on most of my CDs.) I don't need no "Stinking Tubes"

    Yup, pro gear are very good in value. Audio interface are good to start with. Of course, the setup will be different from hi fi setup. There is a market for it since lots of teenager can setup DAW or glue to desktop. People from Focusrite move up to RME.

    Tell me why the power supply can matter so much on low voltage low current loads? The reason they use a tiny transformer you can plug and hang off the socket is because there is very little current draw.

    • @OCDHIFiGuy
      @OCDHIFiGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its not about the current its about the ripple or noise spec.

    Do you have any idea what a bending machine like you described would cost? It would by justified if you where making a lot of components I mean a lot! What are the sales for that DAC?

    • @OCDHIFiGuy
      @OCDHIFiGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would guess they make them 1000 pcs per production run.

    Mike. I think a better example of an approximately $1000 DAC, that I believe is USA made is the Border Patrol DAC. The system that DAC was in at AXPONA was great.

    Give the Chinese time to improve anything made in the West. If until now they have not done it, it is because it has not been economically profitable for them.

    • @OCDHIFiGuy
      @OCDHIFiGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's right. We will keep inventing it, they will keep copying the design and shattering any user pride of ownership. Where's the "improved" pickup truck ?? Lol not gonna happen... improved 1911 Pistol ? ROFL. Never. How about a Democratic Republic ?? Freedom of speech ?? Lol. Dream on...
