Julie Christie is one of those actresses who did her job superlatively. She needs to come back again. Miss her. I remember when she hit BIG in the 60's with Darling and Zhivago coming out around the same time. Knockout breakthrough. And she is so eloquent and elegant.
Cotillard! Blanchett! What a line up...and though I adore both these talented actors immensely, I, like many others, have been ensnared by the heart and mind for decades by Lara and Mrs. Miller. Bravo, Julie, Bravo.
Jullie Christie is pure class and still stunning. She has always been one of my favorites. Her performance touches me even more now as my mother has severe dementia and she has been a vegetable for over two years now. I consider it an honor to have been able to vote for her for the SAG award that year. I was disappointed when she didn't win the Oscar. She is very low key and didn't do all the press junkets and other publicity. Marione was great as well and she campaigned fiercely, so she won.
I just finished watching it. Honestly, she wasn’t acting. She was Fiona in every way. Effortless portrayal of the character. You forget that you’re watching a movie. It felt like you were privy into the lives of real people. Lovely. Well done.
Great performance, which means it seems as though she wasn't acting as the performance was so perfect, sublime, understated that made the character Fiona so real. Julie Christie also won The New York Film Critics Award for Best Actress (her third one, a near record) for this incredible performance.
Although good to see her win an award after so many years, Darling in 1965 being her last major win, Marion Cotillard should have won at Sag. Fortunately for Marion, she got the Oscar afterall.
Marion campaigned more that year. Julie didn’t. Getting additional exposure makes the difference in tight races for the Oscar. When Marion won the bafta over Julie it was a sign of things to come. Just like the Olivia Glenn showdown this year.
I'd vote for her but Cotillard was good as well, and it was a good win since Cotillard has been a presence in Hollywood after that and still continues to do great.
Oh wow ❌💯I ran out of the tissue thanks. I was younger then and I watch her movie with Omar Sharif that time I hate it emotionally because he was disloyal to his wife of course it the movie.

I have always liked her, but how can she not give credit to Alice Munro who wrote that short story and the dialogue that was adapted into this lovely film? Is she really that dumb?
I can only pray that I grow old as beautifully as she is
Still beautiful. Julie Christie, even her name sounds like something that would glow in the dark.

Wonderful sweet Actress!!♥️♥️♥️🌹
My favorite today.

Soo beautiful and distinguished. A great actress.
I fell hopelessly in love with her, as “ Lara” in Dr Zhivargo in 1965. What a beautiful, talented woman.
She was in her late 60's here, and looked fantastic.
All them face ops over the years have done marvels for her young looks
Yeah you were the plastic surgeon who treated them right 😂😂😂
Still a great actress and still very beautiful, in 2024. Unfortunately, many of her English films from the '80's to 2000's never reached the US.
Living Legend!!!
Damn she still looks beautiful, the legendary Lara of Dr. Zhivago
The movie was exceptional. I’m so glad Julie won.

So beautiful and amazing love her and her movies
Rare that all 5 went on to be Oscar nominated, with Julie and Marion flipping the SAG and Oscar on those nights.
At the Oscars, Jolie wasn't nominated; instead, Laura Linney got the nomination. Very deserved, by the way.
So glad she won, more experienced than the others, one of my favorites,..it's about time she won an Oscar. Still looks gorgeous!!
What do you mean it's about time she won an Oscar? You mean ANOTHER Oscar? Because she won one in 1966.
She’s been had an Oscar way before this. She won back in 1966😂😂😂

Also directed by a fellow Canuck. Eh.. try watching The Sweet Hereafter.. Sarah Polley is brilliant.
Que belleza de mujer Julie Christi.
Julie Christie, the actor I so much adore and I have been doing that ever since I watched Doctor Zivago and LARA!!.Here is another of your Laurel!
I like Whitaker's phrase "each one giving us a reason to celebrate."
Shes so calm 😂 back in 1966 when she win award, she was shock and panic

My personal preferences are Petulia (directed by Richard Lester) and The Go between (directed by Joseph Losey).
She should have won the Oscar!
It was a tough choice that year. To be frank the Oscar didn't deserve Julie Christie's performance.

The Omar Sharif movie would be Dr Zhivago
Does anyone know the woman Ms. Christie kissed on the way to the stage?
one of the other nominees.

Kate Winslet. Not a nominee

No, she just didn't want to drag out her speech. I've always seen her as intelligent.
Angelina Jolie played a black woman in that film... 😳😳😳
