    I installed the dual bov on my GTI with DSG and it’s not worth it. It’s better if you get the recirculating bov. It’s because our DSG shifts so fast that you won’t hear the pssst sound as much you would on a manual. You’ll hear the pssst sound more often when you are on the expressway. Either way, it’s a great product from a reputable company.

    I have the 2015 VW Golf GTI. It is 100% stock. Looking into doing some mods for the very first time. I wanna put this because it sounds cool. Should I do like an exhaust or intake before installing this?

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not at all, this would be a great first mod for some extra sound. Pretty easy to install, it's 100% plug and play and you will hear a difference for sure. Just make sure you go with the 50/50 and not the fully recirculating to get the sound you want. :)

    Does this purge air all the time with a DSG In "drive" automatic mode? I have a DV spacer and you hear the OEM DV purge air at the weirdest times ever. Doesn't sound like a BOV more like it sprung a leak lol. I'm worried this will do that too.

  • @smitherzz001
    @smitherzz001 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What’s the difference from a dual port diverter valve and a full recirculating diverter valve?

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. Full recirc will act just like stock in that the air that the blow off valve releases will go back to the intake. The dual port will release some of the released air to the atmoshpere and the rest back to the intake. the dual port is best of both worlds if you're looking for that blow off valve sound but still want the car to run like stock.
      Thanks!
      Rick

  • @LastHumansGarage

    i heard this part will not fit if you have a Unitronic Inlet elbow. i might even remove my unitronic elbow and choose this instead. i think this would give me more noticable performance overall than the elbow does. (uni stage 2 setup)

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was trying to find more info on this and can't really seem to find any definitive info regarding the two and fitment. Also I am struggling to see where the fitment issue would even come from, maybe just due to the larger diameter of the Unitronics pipe? Ill dig around a bit more and see if I can come up with any more info. :)
      Thanks,
      Rick

    • @LastHumansGarage
      @LastHumansGarage 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rallysportdirect thanks. yes its cuz the unitronics elbow is the largest. looks like i have 3-4mm gap right now with stock inmlet hose.

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      do you know roughly how much clearance you have between the utronics elbow and the stock valve? I might still have a stock valve laying around and I could measure diameter and height compared to the Turbosmart. Might be worth a shot?
      Also do you have a link to someone saying it won't work? I dunno why I'm getting so invested in this lol, but seems fun :)
      P.S. great channel BTW!

      @@rallysportdirect 4mm clearance, but i can get my caliper gage tonight and try and get an exact size.
      one guy had this setup and he couldnt fit it with his 5 ply aftermarket inlet hose. he went down to a 3 ply inlet hose and barely fit it, but the clamp isnt in the most ideal place. would be cool if you could measure the height difference, i'd appreciate it.

    Any significant advantage over stock BOV? Performance wise

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing that you will really notice. You're just getting a valve that will flow more and react quicker over stock. On the micro, this will help improve the turbo life and allow the turbo to be more snappy in quick on/off throttle modulations, but when it comes to the seat of your pants, I doubt you would notice it. Now if your car has higher mileage, the stock valves can start to leak and just become tired overall, and if that was the case, I think you would notice it for sure :)

      Rick

My car sounds like someone shaking a single maraca really fast under lower RPM loads as boost builds.. happens most noticibly in 4th gear like around 3k rpm.. but goes away as the rpms climb, no surging sound as i let off the throttle.

      Most likely due to driving style. With open intakes,DV's, and BOV's most drivers change their driving style to force turbo noises. That is my most educated guess. The part itself will not affect the "DSG fart".
