The biggest difference at the top of K1 to K2-5 are Datacrons. That's the craziest part. The number of full Armor Pen, CA, Defense, and CD crons is insane. The rerolls these guys have are off the charts.
I’m pretty sure the skill rating in GAC is way weird and just doesn’t work well.
Skill rating is very simple you win, you get some. You lose you lose some. Someone who has a lot of skill rating but not a great roster just have won a lot of round in a row.
It could be returning players. When I came back about a year ago, I was in arodium without a single relic. Got beaten down to bronzium then until I developed my roster and started climbing again

Chromium is always skewed as the repository for players with 3-4 galactic legends that they throw on D and don't play. Means players win GAC rounds 10-0 with iffy rosters.
My cousin was in Aurodium when he left 4 years ago, came back and was still there, I think GAC is in need of an update to decay or a seasonal rank reset system every 3ish months where if a player does not enter/attack in a GAC a certain amount of times. They need to not have a rank and need to redo placements (that also need to be added)
The only way it may be possible is that they haven't played gac since change in gac rewards
few years ago, when skill system has been changed, due to my roster I was awarded kyber 3. I wasn't playing GAC, and stayed there for a year. Of course when I started playing it - I dropped to Aurodium 4. May be this guy just don't playing GAC at all since that time?

GAC needs a hard reboot, carbonite 3 is just clogged with 5-7 mil GP rosters with multiple GLs. They play just enough so they can dunk on the rosters that belong there and can’t move up as a result.
I have an alt account in Chromium. I get matched against six, seven, and eight million GP opponents with multiple GLs all the time.
yeah it's just weird that in bronzium 1 I'm facing active players with a GAC history and they have 4-5 GLs
I just think they are dropping ranks on purpose to get easy wins and top 1 each week

the amount of 8mil 9mil 5gl players in carbonite 3 and 4 makes it so hard to actually climb out =/

I checked a few days ago. And the top 6 highest GP players, only 2 were in Kyber 1. The others Kyber 2. That's proof there that GP isn't the way to go for match making.
That's true. But that doesn't mean the way they do it now is a good system, either. It's a false dichotomy to think it must be one or the other. There are many other metrics they could use for matchmaking. That's why Nooch didn't just look at GPs, he looked at roster comps, ships, mods, etc.
They could also fix GP. GP has never been a great way of evaluating a roster, but it has only gotten way worse in the last few years. G13, relic levels, and 6-dot mods do not increase GP nearly enough. GLs should have GPs that are 2 or 3 times higher than what they are currently. Omicrons and datacrons don't increase GP at all! Now I get it for datacrons, because those are not permanently attached to specific characters. But that only means relic levels should raise GP even more, since they are the gate to using datacrons. Of course, fixing GP also means changing all of the GP-based goals/gates in the game modes, like TB stars and the like, which I'm sure CG doesn't want to deal with. So, I doubt we will ever see GP adjusted the way it should be.
@@bomafett Well, a few points. GP does work perfectly.... for TB. So, adjusting GP would mean a different formula, for different environments? Also, my biggest issue with GP match making was how it affected the whole game. I don't want to play a collecting game where I'm ignoring almost everything because it'll bloat my GP. Which will then bring conflict with the guild. Lastly, I'm a ladder system rating believer. I feel it works perfectly... I'd everybody puts in the same effort. And there lies the current issue. You can sandbag or not play and drop your rating score. Which is a great shame.
Those are the players who dont play GAC anymore, they just dont sign-up. Those rankings are from old GAC system, and they dont drop points unless they sign-up and lose some matches. Maybe they decided to not play GAC anymore, but they are collecting that sweet, sweet daily crystal income from GAC :)
If they havent played, CG should drop them off the leaderboards. Seems easy

In GAC as a carbonite 2 with 1.2 m gp I just faced someone with 7m gp and rn a guy with 9.5m, I dont understand what the game wants me to do.
The only thing i could see I'd some kind of north wall JML hold strategy to protect terrible fleets. Not sure how they'd full clear squads with that roster since they're going to struggle on ships.

At the top of Kyber there are people with 14 million GP, they guy you looked at only had 12.5 million gp
They really need to fix this rating systems and matchmaking
I droped down in Chromium and I am still in Chromium II and I have 1 GL jml and Executor and lots of reliced teams but I am struggling in Chromium with 4 wins and 3 looses until today (I hope I win today) and all my opponents have 4-5 GLs and Executor in Chromium, which is disappointing and only 2 more fights left. How can someone with 1 GL and no GL ship be in Aurodium 1? I can't understand this.
GAC is really weird. Im stuck at carb 2 and get matchups against 2-4x my GL.

the aurodium 1 guy has some strong teams, and he may just be gettung really lucky on matchups too
4/5 of the top 5 of Aurodium 1 have 1 GL. Third place has 0. It’s something with skill rating and inactivity for sure.
I was thinking something like that. Returning players that have just come back probably. There was a dude similar to that in the top 50 that just returned to the game. It was really funny to see him there.

Why the first thing comes to mind is cheating, it could be CG ranking system, maybe the guy has more knowledge and are better player, it could be cheating too. Maybe CG has dew bots account to make players going for better ranking.
It maybe depends of the divisions?... You might be in different divisions than them?

All of those players have a skill rating over 4000, that means they go to Kyber 1 next season. I thought at first maybe it’s people who haven’t played since the GAC changes, but then how do you go from Chromium 1 into Kyber 1 without playing? Surely you can only do that by winning matches? I think there is some cheating going on here.
He the player that doesn’t use yt vids for help but is a lil better off then those giants who are just Teri le at the game or don’t always play all the time so I think he goes up against easier opponents ngl

The rankings are kinda weird. I doubt anyone is cheating, but if you win during enough rounds your skill rating can go way up. Its about 40 per win/loss (+/-) a few banners. (I've got a higher skill rating than people in my guild who are in the next level) for example you can go from 2000 2400 in a single gac season without being promoted, because you have to finish in division 1 to be promoted. You can theoretically keep your win/losses to a certain ratio to stay in division 1, and drop down to d2 in the end to not get promoted. This way, you can end up with aurodium skill rankings in bronzinium.
I can’t get past Chromium 5 because I keep getting wrecked by 2+ GLs.

Agreed. It's really weird. The first match of this round I went against a roster with3 mil more power, 3gls, and all the ships except profundity.
I scraped a win by. But I agree why aren't these rosters higher. There shouldn't be rosters with 3-4 gls in 8mil and still be in bronzium 2. Yet the leaders roster is nothing special.
Meanwhile I'm in bronze 2 and just went up against 5 GLs...
