I can't believe this movie made $2million less than it's budget... It has to be the best mma/fighting movie I have ever seen. Every action movie fan needs to see this.

After seeing several Tom Hardy movies, I still don't understand why and how hasn't he won any Oscars or why isn't he as famous as he should be! So underrated actor. For me he is fenomenal, the best in every way. Go Tom. :)

I was always impressed that the screenplay didn't force a love interest for Tom Hardy's character. That seems like an almost revolutionary choice to me.
Definitely. There are a TON of things they elected not to do with this movie that most other filmmakers would have and it would've ruined it.
The love interest was the men in the audience
It would have conflicted with Tommy’s arc. A story about forgiveness for his father and brother. There was no room for a love interest in there.
This is one of my absolute favorite movies. If you don't watch it you're missing something. It moves me every single time and I know what's going to happen. It's a definite must watch.
I'm an assistant director in the film industry, and I saw this movie at a DGA screening where the director (Gavin O'Connor) gave a Q&A afterward. I've been to dozens of DGA screenings ... and this is the only one where the audience gave the director a standing ovation afterward.

I saw it in cinema because my power went out, and I heard it was a sleeper hit... Only one other person in the theater with me, big black dude behind me,, end of movie, we were both in tears,, he said, wow man that was a great movie... Yup...

More than the action, the way the emotional content of the characters were depicted was just brilliant. For sure, this is one of my top 10 movies of all time...

Tobz / Dopest i saw this trailer coming from the trailer of cinderella man. and that trailer completely spoiled that whole movie. so i saw the first few seconds of this and i went and watch the actual movie
I feel like this trailer didn't do the movie justice. I had no interest in seeing it beforehand and now it is one of my favorite movies of all time. So powerful.
Just one more person who was struck by how well this film was made. I felt it as a man, as a brother and as a son. ABsolute masterpiece.
Hands down one of my favorite movies. The acting, cinematography, writing, everything was grade A. Hell, as somebody whos gone through recovery myself, it even got me to shed a tear when their father falls off the wagon.

Tom Hardy is a beast!!!! He can pull off any accent, he can make you love him when he's the hero, and downright despise him when he's the villain. He has range, charisma, talent, and he dedicates himself to every role. They say that Shia knocked him out on the set of Lawless but I'm not buying that for a second. I would not fight this dude. These may very well be actors but they literally become fighters with all the training and conditioning needed for their respective roles.
Best movie ever...The fighting was was secondary to the underlying pain of a dysfunctional childhood. Love of siblings overcomes all traumatic mental scars...I love this movie. It really hits home.
Just finished watching this movie and I'm in awe. This is a masterpiece. Hands down a well deserved 10/10 for me. 👏👏👏👏👏

Somehow this film slipped under my radar, and I stumbled upon it only a couple of weeks ago while scrolling through Amazon Prime for something to add to my queue for later viewing.
I finally got around to watching it yesterday and had my mind absolutely blown. Cried my eyes out.
What a gem of a film.
This movie hit me like a truck. What was so serendipitous was my two brothers we’re watching this film with me when it cameout on DVD in 2011. And it was so emotional we all had to suppress our emotions and leave.

Although it is a bit predictable dramatic ending, but this is The best fight movie of all time, even better than Raging bull. Very touchy, breath taking, and emotional movie. Tom Hardy is certainly the next Robert De Niro. He's the best actor around now.

Tommy accepted the opology oh his brother..THATS WHY HE TAPPED.. he forgave him..as winning was more important to Tommy's brother than Tommy...and movie eneded in that way...Brendan was struggling more in this

I didn't watch the trailer beforew atching the movie, and it really hit me hard ,because i was in that position with my parents. I left with my mom... and my dad lives alone... this movie hit me right in the heart.. it's hard to get over it..

One of the greatest films I've ever seen, last time I cried like that was in 'Blood Diamond', just because it's highly relatable to me and hit me in my home sick parts, but this movie is incredible, just like Blood Diamond don't get me wrong haha

People wouldn't belive me if a say this movie is less about the MMA fights and kicks and boxing and more about family and father-son relation. O'connor have made a under appreciated Gem of a film. I literally get chills every time I watch the final fight. The music by Nationals song is so apt for scenes. You won't get the movie in only one watch. Re watch it 3-4 times. Best movie ever.

They shouldve never said that the finals was gonna b the brothers, 1. it wouldve brought more people out so they find out if they do or not, yes everyone was thinkin of it but they werent sure, and that curiosity would make them go see it, plus if they somehow could have said this was based on actual events which it vaguely was, very vagueley, but regardless of the trailer everyone should go see it, fantastic film, and put me on to Tom Hardy, one of my favorite actors out now.
