Great video, my emergency set up is the quick deployable Ridgeline that Shawn Kelly teaches over on his channel Corporals corner. A USGI poncho tarp, 4 ABS plastic stakes, 2 55 gallon drum liners. Super lightweight and when rolled up tight I can just get it all to fit in the stuff sack with the poncho.
I really like the way you make your prussic with the toggle. That works like a charm. It's funny to see someone else meticulously repack the shelter kit the way you did because I do the exact same thing even with the stakes alternating, etc. Great information and demonstration sir.
I have a used Graber space blanket (not all that old either) that the grommets started pulling out, I bought a grommet kit at Harbor freight, reinforced the grommet holes on both sides of the blanket with Gorilla tape, then punched new holes in the gorilla tape and set the harbor freight grommets… will this repair last forever naw I doubt it but it should last through this season and for now I have a nearly new, used space blanket
Hi Blackie, I wish you would post a video on a small emergency survival kit with no frills. Something lite and handy that you will carry with you all the time outdoors. I built a a full survival kit but it's way too big and cumbersome. Will appreciate your input
I think I’m going to invest in a DD 3x3 tarp for the fall. Or maybe a six moon designs gatewood cape tarp tent / poncho. Something light for the spring and fall. As long as there is no mosquitoes cuz there is no bugnet..
Hi Blackie, great video as usual. Can you do some vids on other firearms? Seen the percussion revolver series and the 20 gauge shotgun, how about something more modern too?
hmmm let me think about it.......i have a lot of exp. with modern guns ar 's auto handguns..tactical stuff..but to be honest i want to keep my channel about woodscraft and history sort of stuff...i will think about it
Great information and set up
Great detail on assembly of a light, quick shelter kit. What if you carry a GI issue poncho instead of the emergency blanket? - Tennessee Smoky

Why don't you tie the woodsman's prussic on the ridge line now and have it already attached when you put the ridge line up?
thats is correct thats what i do now i leave it on my ridgelines

haha as you notice in the title..EMERGENCY SHELTER with no bug net in my south..you know its a emergency if i am using this...lol
That’s a pretty good little setup. That could be strapped to the bottom of my Mother Canteen Carrier like a G-roll
exactly..small and easy..and when you really need shelter ya got one handy
Cool deal

Great video. Liked the pre-made prussic idea.
Subbed from Prepper Potpourri's recommendation!
