I like to imagine that the reason why the Phone Guy tries to convince you that you're too good to press the frequency button is because he wants Mario to get the guardian more easily.
After all, the phone guy here is progressively possessed by Luigi, so it makes sense for him to have some respect over the brother he saved 2 times in his own games.
It's little details like that is just great

Everyone's talking about the gameplay and moments but like god I can't get over WwwWario's phone calls in this, I really like how he did the phone calls for this game too.

For the original rttf? If so, then put everyone on the original mode to 0 in custom night :)

In Five Shows at Wario's, it is mentioned that Bruno has a daughter. Maybe the reason has something to do with her.
If you didn't figure it out yet, he wanted the recipe for money for his daughter's sickness and since Wario and the others were there, he killed them so he wouldn't go to jail for theft.
That didn't end well for him though...
