I'm completely on board with "birds are beautiful because birds find birds beautiful. I study Golden-collared Manakins where female mate choice can be seen to be actively driving the cross-species evolution of male sexual plumage characteristics. Great show!
Thanks! Glad you liked it. And thanks for the suggestions, one of them is already lined up for a future episode and the others are definitely on the shortlist :)
Another fascinating episode! I read Rick Prum’s book a few years ago and found it utterly convincing - but then, I’m a birder and not an evolutionary biologist invested in the status quo! I have always suspected there might be a hint of misogyny behind the resistance to female choice. Way too much power for those females, right? Love your shows!
Fantástico, tive o privilégio de conhecer Richard no evento Avistar e conversar com o mesmo, um cientista brilhante e super motivador, após isso li o seu livro o qual se tornou um de meus favoritos, fantástico poder assistir a isso.

Very interesting show. I found it pretty funny to have a domesticated rooster calling in the background, throughout the show 😀 lol
🤣🤣🤣 Diego and Rick's neighbours in Antioquia and Costa Rica haha!
Another great episode! What an incredibly interesting topic, I'm getting the book. Keep the great videos and interviews coming.
