Many satellites got their electronics fried and were lost in those zones.

The worst of the stuff HW3 butches will be modded out of it (as it comes with full mod support right from the get go) soooo MAYBE 5k people will chose this here game shown over HW3, let alone SOASE2

The continuity of these trailers is awesome. First, Caligula and Richmond go after 2 MRN ships. This starts with MRN command responding sending 2 additional units to finish the Caligula. Voice radio chatter that fade in and out depending on zoom level is amazing. When the York launches freshly made from planetside shipyard to meet up with the mining ship was a great surprise. The atmosphere and depth when most games would easily overlook simply two units in a meetup is simply stunning. Waiting until end of 2025 is going to be something...
solo coding dev. todd is the main dev from the start but its a 2 person project now as he hired an artist who is a 3d modeler and concept artist who goes by varzov. all these ships besides the sukula are all new and made by varzov. either way this game has shown revision after revision and doesn't wish to gouge money out from early access. the main dev is instant on a stellar game from day 1 :EDIT: But forgot to mention it really feels like a 3 man project. scott buckley a renowned sound composer is developing the OST for the game so really it feels like a 3 man team.

He only recently got a publisher so now has more resources to use in making the game he wants to release. He was working 80-90hr weeks and had to slow down to 'only' 40hr work weeks due to health issues in his family. The EA is going to be in 2025 and he's got someone to focus entirely on the models of the game now, but it's still mostly just one dude.
Audio design is looking phenomenal, UI seems uncluttered, snappy and sound response is great. Soundtrack is right up my alley, can't wait to get my grubby hands on this! Keep it up, no rush!

Immersion is everything, the best games make you feel the moments. Real radio chatter and an evoking sound track do more for these games than graphics alone ever could ❤ that being said, the graphics also look incredible 👏👏👏
The only downside is it's not full 3d space movement, but it's also a *much* larger scale than any homeworld game in terms of map size, so he's settled on a 2d plane to avoid the whole '99% of space is empty' problem. That and 3d navigation AI is haaaaard.
This looks, sounds, and feels nothing like homeworld my guy....like what? Game in space with epic music and tactical options = homeworld now? Where's the full 3D movement? This is more like Empire at War/battlefleet gothic, with multiple maps cohesively working as 1 large map
the ending scene when nuking the planet was incredible with the lowered tone of the music, also the fact that you can seamlessly go from space contact to nuking a planet is equally impressive
Loving the context and detail of the radio chatter in this, it's also a very pretty game. The combat manoevring looks a little janky at present though it's also nice to see enemy ships not just explode like fireworks
Finally a space strategy game that I've wanted for years. Ever since the first season of the Expanse I've been waiting for something this well simulated.
There's so many interesting new space games in the works right now. I've been waiting 20 years for stuff like this ever since Homeworld 2 and Nexus: Jupiter Incident. Now we get Homeworld 3 and Falling Frontier really appears to be cementing Hooded Horse as _the_ go-to publisher for believable and atmospheric space RTS these days. They really seem to have found their niche with these games.
Anyone know if the radio chatter is just specific for the video or is it that detailed in the actual game? Like Ubisoft when they had those division gameplay trailers with the co op people talking. Cause the frigate coming out and the radio chatter between it and the mining ship was sick, but it seems very situational.
A making of your own officer in this game would be pretty sick kinda like a better looking starsector where you can colonize other systems. Make it so more runs itself and gives you the freedom to explore and do missions with your fleet. Not sure how this game is eventually gonna play but there's so many directions you could go with a game like this probably why its taking so long.
It's going to be single-system specific. You are essentially the highest-ranking admiral/colonial administrator/Big Cheese. A narrative campaign is being released for the first part of early access, which is what all the recent trailers have been about; Mars and Titan facing off and bringing war to the Solar System. That's Arc 1. Arc 2 and 3 are going to (probably) be randomly generated systems outside the solar system and your task is going to be setting up colonies, building infrastructure, and crushing your enemy (and the possible 'shoot everyone type of neutrality' neutral AI). The only diplomacy is via who has the most intelligence to bring the biggest guns upon their enemy and taking over their stuff. BUT! There's going to be a scenario editor! Which is also the same thing being used to make the narrative campaign. So you know what that means? People twisting it into doing stuff it shouldn't be capable of doing. Just look at the madmen in Starcraft 2 who made a fekking RTS spamclicker into a *card based tower defense game*.
While I've been greatly anticipating this game and can likely overlook it, please tell me the hover-over tooltip "click" can be disabled in the settings.
