Same! I have never played this game in any format, but I've been obsessed with the story for over a decade. I've watched the movie and read the book, but playing games is less of my thing. It's so great that I can watch someone else play it and see the story that way.

An excellent presentation. Zero annoying commentary, efficient yet thorough gameplay, and the player takes care to assess new monsters & items and pan the camera around interesting settings to give viewers a comprehensive experience of the game.
I love the way you play your games. You don't spaz out on the controls during dead moments and you* do things cinematically and believably to make the watch as immersive as possible. Kudos

love how they stop during a big environment change and pan the camera around so we get to see what the map looks like and how gorgeous the graphics are. and their use of the combat controls are fun to watch too, they actually utilize most if not all the features which is really rare to find in the sea full of gameplays where people only spam the normal attack and hope for the best.

This game really has a beautiful story ending to it even though it literally took me about a week to finish watching the playthrough. Thank you so much for uploading the game playthrough I enjoy watching the whole 27 hours.
You're seriously solid at this game's combat, you handle the bosses like a champ. Other than the crazy people that do no damage runs, that's some of the best Normal mode gameplay I've seen. You wrecked Rude and the Hell House.

As a student who doesn't have money or time for games anymore, having this in the background for the past 2 weeks while I worked was a treat. There were times where I had to stop working because I was captivated in the story, and times where I needed to just stop working because it was too much. I know there are a lot of other playthroughs of this game, but I could have never experienced this if your video hadn't shown up in my feed. I might need some time to adjust to having something else play in the background while I work. For now, I'll watch your playthough of the DLC, Thanks.

I was 10-12 years old when I played the original Final Fantasy 7 and I barely knew any English back then. I'm from Sweden, so it isn't my native language. I remember I got stuck at several different parts of the game, because I didn't understand the instructions, but from the perspective of a kid, I was just exploring and trying to solve a puzzle. I remember I had around 200 hours played in total which felt like a lifetime back then. It's one of the best games I've played - or at least the most memorable one, even today after ~20 years.
Just spent a week or so watching a few hours every night after school and im so thankful for this really cool gameplay :) ive always been more of a watcher than a player so thanks a lot. I do hope you’ll play Part 2 and post it when it comes out :)

As someone who played the OG game through his high school years back in '97, this was one hell of an experience from start to finish. That nostalgia train slammed into me like Final Heaven bruh like daaaaaamn. Can't wait to play Remake pt2 it's gonna be AMAZING knowing Square's track record.

i agree the game is a good game i loved the combat and the story line was good. was it as good as the original no but this is part 1 of 3. thats what some people don't seem to understand is this was midgar only and for midgar only they did a good job.i am expecting better things from part 2 as it will be semi open world.

this is so good. it kept me entertained for a couple days and i really enjoyed the gameplay and the game itself. I love how you went as far as to get all the Materia, challenges, and chests too. made the game feel more complete.

We will never know how Sony makes their games look so good. The fact that a PS4 running this is jaw dropping, best optimization I've ever seen.
Update: The pc port is insane. Running and Waterblocked Ventus 3090 on its own 480mm loop, 4.1Ghz all cores OC 5950X, 32Gb 3600c18 on its own loop 360mm Rad, 6TB of m.2 storage ( 2x980 pros, 1x970 evo plus).
Running the game at 4k 120Hz maxed settings with no stutters, no pop in rendering, nothing at all breaking the immersion. The most beautiful game I've ever played keeping in mind that I've played Cyberpunk all settings maxed 4k in mind with RTX Ultra. Unreal engine is best engine, no other engine even comes close to the optimization when loading assets, textures, models, software shadow lighting, etc.

Tifa and Aerith’s friendship is just so delightful. I love that the makers of this game looked at the fan wars of the 90s and went, we don’t do that here.
And they did a great job with Hojo. He was never a good dude (to put it mildly) but I’ve never wanted to jump through the screen and beat a character to paste like I do with this asshole.

When you really see what's really going on in this remake and small attention to detail with the plot ghosts and certain characters on a second playthrough, you really start to appreciate what they're trying to accomplish. Given the fact that you had to have played the original to really grasp understanding it's still amazing to see that they're giving you a "what if" storyline with certain characters adding on to an already amazing storyline. This whole remake is based on the butterfly effect where things in the original gets discombobulated from what happened in the original, and it all starts from where Sephiroth messes with Cloud in the alleyway trying to keep him from meeting Aerith. That's where the whole butterfly effect truly begins and introduced the plot ghosts and everything goes from there. I didn't understand at first and was confused like everyone else but all it takes is a second playthrough to understand why the ending happened the way it did and I am really excited for part 2!! 😁

It was great to see a more in-depth expansion of the early half of the original game. Even for the three characters, Jessie, Biggs and Wedge to be more involved with the story.

Was talking to a friend, who is doing his first playtrough, and come here to remember the order of the fights at the end so i wont spoil anything... and god, what a good game.. the visuals, and the gameplay from the battles, are what they need to keep for next Final fantasy games...

I think everyone likes playing the game better, but for some people watching it is just enough. I guess its like watching a movie or series of sorts. I had a friend who didnt like playing the original ffvii on ps1 even when i told him to take the controller for a while and he rarely did. Mostly to do certain fights for himself or stuff like that. But he would watch me play for hours and sometimes tell me what if u do this or what if u did this to the boss or pair this materia with that materia and it feels like we both finished the game by doing this.

I can't go through a video that long without leaving some sort of comment. I will say you have some dedication to go through that whole thing, then upload it and timestamp too. Hats off to you. I admit I did a little skipping, but did you really go through the whole game and only do 1 summon? And I recall just getting the gold chocobo taking almost as long as this playthrough lol.

Been seeing this Cloud guy for some time now, thought he looks so pretty, so I've decided to start watching FF remake. Thank you for this wonderful video! Fell in love not only with the characters but the game itself as well! Looks cool. I'll watch the original after this, and other stuff containing Cloud's story. Never thought I'd get this hooked!

I actually preferred Japanese dub so I went to search a Japanese dub playthrough.
Then it made me realise what made this playthrough much more enjoyable.
You walk slowly in slow scenes, which gives the atmosphere.
You do not always run around, moving the camera left and right to search for new things.
It is understandable in fights, but I'll say it is obvious that either this is not your first play or you really master a guide or something.
You kept looking at the upper plate which is something I really appreciate since I like the graphics.
I suppose as someone that prefers to watch others play, moving the camera and playing the game while having the viewers in mind is a big plus. It is okay if it a bit slow at some parts, it is up to the viewers to fast forward a bit.
You are the most legendary youtuber I've ever seen. You play the whole game 3 TIMES (60fps ps5 playthrough, this playthrough, dlc playthrough), and the game is 1 DAY and 3 HOURS, but then you also manage to include TIMESTAMPS
Attention to detail and panning around. Great!🎉

I have just now began dipping my toe into the world of FF starting with the original FF7. i'm maybe a 4th of the way through part I and seeing this in comparison to the original is just mind blowing. I cannot wait to play this version.

man I played the original game when I was 16 years old. now 42 and it is still awesome. I'm not a huge fan of the new fighting method ( i'm too old school and too old for it) but I enjoyed every second watching this and reliving a more in depth story. thank you for this!
