this might be an unpopular opinion but I think Calum definitely used to be the stronger vocalist in 5sos tho Luke has improved so much in the last few years
I think he always lacked technique before, though his timbre sounds interesting. That's why he sounds so nasal before. And also I think he hurt his voice in their early days, thats why Luke took most of the vocal parts later on. There was a period in one of their tours that he sounds really strained. I think he now took vocal lessons, at least for durability during touring, since that's what f***s singers voices most of the time.
I start listening to 5sos again after years and I've noticed that my favorite songs were always where Calum has more participation, I love his voice!!!!
