Most of the peoples are leaving there comments that murree is not safe and the local people of murree is not good, but the reality is different. People's of murree are very kind and the hospitality of murree is famous in all world. And 2nd thing is that you visit the murree city and there most of the People's are not belongs to murree. You must visit the villages of murree everyone should help you and treat you very positively. And the last thing is that all the fingers are not same in one hand same that all the People's are not same. Bad peoples exist everywhere in tha globe. If you have bad experience I really apologise to all of you from peoples of the murree.
Mentality of tour guides, Taxi drivers and hotel agents ... especially in hill stations or tourist places... is same in Pakistan and India... They are behind you always ....
Glen and Mado in Murree pple are more pushy and will hound you unlike other northern areas of Pakistan.Its more commercial and expensive too specially during the holiday season.Murree unfortunately is not the same as it was 20 years back due to easy access and cheap buses.
1st of All these kids are not Pakistani, but they are migrated from Afghanistan, we locals are also feeling bad when they pushing, many of businessman are from other parts of Pakistan, and many pashtoon are migrated from.Afg. But I'm really sorry for these guys. 1 more thing every where in all the world, bad and good people. So you know , anyways thanks for visiting us.
i wouldn't advise any foreigner to go to murree, the only reason it is popular is because it is a convenient location for lower to middle class families from islamabad/peshawar to get away from the heat in the summer and see the snow in winters. you'll find it to be very busy, overcrowded and over-expensive, with young guys who are there for tiktoks and harassing/staring at women, there's a bit of a mix of family environment as well but as a foreigner, you'll be harassed for selfies and constant request for services e.g. taxis. Locals get this too but they know how to ignore them or shut them up. I was afraid something gonna happen to you guys when I clicked on the video and the end of the video proved it. Even as a local I always hated the environment in murree, only liked it when I went there as a child with my family to see the snow in winters and have nice food so it's a bit nostalgic for me, otherwise it's a shithole and mall road is the centre of that shithole

I'm so sorry that you had to experience that. There are bad apples in every society. I don't believe its murree and it looks no different than any market or bazaar in any city of pakistan , I went to murree only once in summer of 1971 and back then it looks like hill side resort in any western country. There was only one main street with few stores , beautiful food market , couple of restaurants and movie theater on the left called saros when u walk towards post office , people walking on both sides wearing nice dresses, really clean environment and no trash on the ground , they had contest to pick a beautiful lady and gave title of Miss Murree . I don't know what happened and it looks murree has lost its charm , thanks for posting
25:00 ROBBERS - You should not have gone to Murree. People from Murree specially business owners on tourist spots are ROBBERS, Literally ROBBERS. Last year it snowed really heavily in Murree and tourists from within Pakistan head to Murree to enjoy snow fall. they are got stuck on roads and in Murree city as well. Hotel owners raised room rents from PKR 5,000 a night to PKR50,000 - 100,000 a night even for those guests who were already in the hotels and had agreed a lower price before entering the room. the moment they saw that people are stranded and have no where to go they took advantage of their misery and charged them fortune. Guests/visitor had to hand over Jewelleris, expensive mobile phone and pretty much everything valuable they had to hotel owner to just save their lives. few tourists died on road due to extreme cold weather. I have only visited once in 1997 I hated it even then now I am disgusted. Law and order is not good in Pakistan these days so i suggest save your lives and run. Run Fast and Run Far.
Born and raised in Pakistan, currently living in Canada but still go to Pakistan very frequently for family, Miss Pakistan so much. Such great people, my childhood friends, servants, store owners, neighbors. Everything has changed so much and now everyone in Pakistan is so worried and stressed because of the huge increase expenses as we know there is so much poverty there but still prime ministers there are too worried about small stupid issues rather than about how their people are dying of hunger. It was a bad idea to visite Murree ,murree well-known for duping tourists. In 2018 the entire country of Pakistan boycotted Murree due of their local misbehaviour. Be cautious when visiting similar locations in the future.
I was there last weekend. I really did not enjoy it all. It is way too commericialised now; too many shops and restaraunts. You cannot even take a decent picture anymore because there are too many cables and power lines blocking the view or some type of building in the way. I last went in 2011 and found it WAYYY more enjoyable.
