      @@amy_ambrosio omg same I have two older brothers but no matter how many times my parents try to disobey them they never seem to care. Me being the youngest I try to be the smart, kind, respectful, comedic child in the family cause that's the only way I managed to get through all the fights/arguments in my family. I'm 24 now with a Masters degree and with all that chaos that I experienced from a young age I managed to get through it on my own without having to interfere & now I'm at a successful point in my career.

      The mother never thanked the older sister for her sacrifices. She didn't show remorse or sadness to the older daughter when she was telling the hosts how hurt she was, how she didnt think her family cared if she died. She didn't even seemed shocked. Or how she favored the second child and was actually the cause of all the problems between the siblings.

      I'm shocked by how they tried to blame it all on stuff like drinking alcohol. Isn't it obvious that when you ve been working since 20 your ass off, payin the bills , givin 10k $ to your mom and havin no life for 7 damn years that you will need something to relieve you?
      The second sister is totally the one making the problems and indeed it's the mothers fault. She favoured the younger sister and made her feel like no matter how wrong she was, that she could get away with it. It's plainly shockin how the second sister was tryna fake her crying when they asked her and even proceeded to say her older sis was hating her.
      The mother is at total fault and the oldest sister should have left them all way before. It's not selfish in the end. When people around you make you suffer for no reason, it's better to be away of them.

    "I'll cut down on drinking"
    Hearing this broke my heart because even then, the older sister is the only one who has to amend her habbits so that the family can live in supposed peace. Did anyone even bother to think as to why she was drinking in the first place? The poor girl clearly had no one to turn to with her sorrows, so she ended up suppressing her feelings with liquor for all those years. The mother and the middle daughter really have the audacity to think that she's the ONLY root to these issues. I couldn't help but cry with the older sister.

    I don't normally comment on these videos even tho I watch literally all of them. However, I cannot believe how selfish the second daughter is. The eldest daughter is no saint, but she's clearly acting the way she is because of the stress she has been through for years. She's lacking love from her own mother, she had to quit school, work every day, which equals not having time to see friends or family, and while all of this was happening, she was able to witness what a great time her sister and everyone else around her age had. I wish she would work on her actions but that her family would be more understanding. Cutting down on alcohol is all she has to do.

      When they were talking and stuff, you can really tell that the younger sister didn’t seem to have an open mind or heart to try to grasp and understand on why the older sister did the things she did. I’m not saying that all of the things she did should be excused but by how she had to do so many things for herself and for her family to continue living, it’s like they forgot that she’s human herself. Drinking is something that she really needs to work on aside from reconnecting with her sister and her mother but she isn’t the only one who has to put in work to make it all work out. The mother and sister needs to apologize for all the things they’ve said or done, no matter how little it may have seen to them, it made a big impact on her mental state. How do you expect things to work out when you’re only putting in about 25% of work while she’s putting in 75% of work?

      While we never had physical fights, my second sister and I are pretty much like those 2. My parents didn't have the money for my college, so I worked full time and went to school full time. 4 years later, my parents found out how to get student loans and various scholarships. It would piss me off to no end to watch her skip classes to go to the beach, etc., knowing how much each of those classes cost. We have a younger sister too. Whenever middle sister didn't get her way, she would make something up or blow something all out of proportion and blame it on us. She is STILL like that today, and both her daughters are too!!! After watching her treat my mom like crap after all that was done for her, I have completely written her out of my life. Life is too short to deal with self-centered jackasses.

      @sidesideful 5 ปีที่แล้ว +87

      @@bpxl53yewz29 If not alcohol, then, what? Suggestions are helpful when there is an alternative solution. Not just pointing out what's wrong. There is a reason for her drinking, she probably is very lonely and sad from the way she is treated by her mom and sis. Instead of alcohol, I hope she can depend on a kinder, better version of her mom and sis, who can be more understanding and considerate of why she didn't get the top grades, give her the space when she's in a bad mood, and especially not compare her to the sis. Love is the answer, in my opinion, instead of just saying she should simply drink less. She is in pain. Kinda difficult to tell someone to just stop being in pain. If she is loved more, she will want to work harder for the family and naturally want to drink less. There are plenty of people who are breadwinners but are not addicted to alcohol, but have a good support system around them. That is the key of the issue. No hate, just commenting, bye!

    I love how the entire time, the mother and the second daughter blamed the oldest for the constant fighting, yet refused to take responsibility for their own actions which led up to all of it. The oldest made so many sacrifices for her sister and family, and I'm guessing the only one who understands that is the youngest daughter. Also, the second daughter truly blows me away with how entitled and spoiled she is. She did the things that her sister couldn't so, partied and had fun at college while her sister couldn't go to college and had to work. She needs to learn how to be grateful. Also, I wanted to slap her when the oldest gathered the courage to apologize in front of national TV, and her sister goes "well I really want an apology for something else" like how much worse can this girl get. The mother and the second daughter both owe the oldest daughter an apology. She drinks every night because she hated the way her life is. She gets no support from her family other than the youngest sister, and every time a fight occurs, the mother and second daughter tell her they wish she'd disappear. Alcohol is the only thing for her right now that can make her forget all of that. They're lucky she chose alcohol and didn't turn to drugs!!! This is the consequence of constantly comparing your children to one another. They grow up feeling resent for the other sibling, and as time goes on, they end up cutting communication with one another. You can't expect your kids to get along if you constantly compared, favored one, and belittled one when they were growing up. The oldest daughter isn't a saint, and I'm not excusing her behavior, especially the alcohol, but there are too many reasons for why she acts like that that aren't being addressed.
    Edit: sorry for the rant lmao, I usually don't comment on these, but i could relate to the oldest and couldn't help but say something

    • @Colourpeach
      @Colourpeach 5 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      Pretty much agree, was absolutely frustrating to watch and how it ended because nothing got addressed. The mom and 2nd daughter blamed everything on her and didn't understand how much she sacrificed because she cared for them. The only thing is Korea has a huge drinking culture. There's way more alcohol addictions compared to drugs. I'm sure it happens but drug laws there are extremely strict and harder to attain compared to the U.S where I feel like anyone can just do drugs lol and since they dont really have a drug culture they turn to drinking and it leads to substance abuse. So I feel like moms concern would've been the equivalent to how we are about drug users. Only if her drinking got worse but I dont think she even had an addiction she just used it to cope which is still unhealthy but wow that went over their heads.

      Yeah it was really sad. The eldest is coping with all the sacrifices she’s made for the family, and the mother blames her for everything. When she was comparing the daughters (ie ‘my second daughter takes after me’) it’s such an ignorant thing to say. Favoring one child over the other will undoubtedly create tension between the kids. The favored one will be the golden child, and the others will bear the brunt of the abuse. They should’ve held the mother and second daughter as responsible. The eldest is a better woman than either of them could ever be. She freely apologized and recognized her faults.

      safera rmd the second sister isn’t that young, she’s like a year or two younger than the eldest but she’s acting very immature, she should have gotten a job and helped alongside her sister so that even the sister could have studied but instead she criticised the eldest constantly telling her to have “worked harder for the scholarship” and specifically asking for certain apologies for things that have been most probably said in between fights which is pretty normal, like even I and my sister fight but we don’t remember each and every thing we’ve said to each other since that’s VERY childish. The older daughter had actual concerns that needed to be addressed more in the show but they never did. And by trying to be understanding of what I think is spoilt behaviour is wrong as then it never gets fixed

    Eldest sister, step aside. I'm ready to pull some hair too😡
    *Eldest sister:* became head of household at age 20, working to provide for family of four, most likely depressed and dependant on alchohol as a coping mechanism
    *Second sister:* you got kimchi on my shirt
    😒😒😒😒😒
    Edit: Thank you for all the likes and supportive comments! I wrote my comment in a joking manner, but in all honesty, I hope the eldest sister finds peace and love. You can see she's in so much pain having had to shoulder so much responsibility without the love of her family. She may have had to sacrifice a lot during the prime years of her youth, but she deserves to be happy and to be surrounded by people who love, respect, and care for her. I hope the mom and second sister will realize this and change their ways. The eldest sister said so herself: her family is all she has. I hope they put down their pride and stop seeing her as the problem and the only one who's at fault and begin to love one another. It's not too late to change.

      Is sad to say but in Asian families the one with the best education always gets favourited which doesn’t make it right AT ALL and it happens to me, but it is getting to the point of it being childish. These things either are sorted when separated, therapy or with age, as sad as it is. Being favourited is no reason for any of that to happen. Yes she had to pay, drop out, gave money but it’s no reason to behave like this. Neither one of them are mature but it’s definitely not the others fault for being favourited, she didn’t ask for it or turn her mother against the first

Also about her drinking problem, i went through exactly that when my family also relied to me as a breed winner, the pressure sucks that i had to just drink it off to forget for a while, and seeing how the oldest was the one paying the family's bill after the dad passed away i think that was what happened to her too, so i hope she also gets help for it.

    I feel so bad for the oldest daughter, at such a young age she had to take her fathers place as the bread winner of the family. Throughout this whole thing i didn't feel the slightest sincere emotion coming from the mother, after all the oldest daughter said she went ahead and had the mindset to say i like my second daughter because shes sweet like me, im sorry wtf!!
    She had to sacrifice her whole life and work just so you can live a bit better and she gave you 10,000 for personal spendings what are you not grateful for?? Clearly she raised the girls by putting them against one another, constantly favouring the second daughter; this not only probably made the oldest daughter depressed and sick of her families shit but the second daughter seems a bit silly, i dont think she realises the amount of things her sister had to give up so she could live a better life.
    Im just really pissed off, and i dont think this episode really put the mom or the second daughter in a different mindset because even at the end the oldest put herself out there and apologised for everything and said i love you but nothing in back... i hope she can come to a point where shes financially stable enough to live on her own, at the moment this seems really toxic.

    Wow. I wish the 2nd daughter can just step down from her privileged high horse and see things from her older sister's perspective. "I'm sure Unnie can get a scholarship too if she studied harder." Irresponsible statements like these just show how selfish she is, and not seeing the sacrifice that her older sister made for the family. Even if the Unnie did get a scholarship, I'm sure she wouldn't have been able to take it up, since the family needed her to work and make ends meet then.
    Besides, sacrifice is one thing. Enduring that emotional hurt from unfair favouritism, and constantly being compared for years... Can you imagine what the older sister must have been going through. Yes, she should cut down on drinking for her own health. But I hate that her drinking was made to seem like it was the brunt of the problem. What about the mum who compares her kids and created the toxic environment that the older sister had to grow up in? What about the 2nd sister who can't see the hardships her unnie faces and still asks for "specific" apologies?
    In my opinion, this problem stems from far longer ago. And it requires so much work, understanding and making up to one another on all sides, to even make the situation a tad better. If the older sister is the main person making 90% of the effort, while the mum and 2nd sister are not fully held accountable, how would the situation improve at all??? The older sister is already stressed enough as it is. I wish the hosts did more to school the mum and 2nd sister, instead of just silently letting it pass.

    Anyway, instead of be thankful for all the things her sis did for her, leaving college and working to pay her tuitions... She just complaint about everything.
    Obviously the older daughter is gonna feel bad and get that rude mood, she couldn't study and she had to mature at early age.
    She had to take care of her family after her dad passed away, but even so her mom and sis don't appreciate that.

When I got awards and asked for a little reward, my mom didn't gave me anything and I was so hurt by that fact that I will never be favored by her. I was so hurt that I cried on my own birthday and my dad comforted me.
    See, the eldest doesn't always gets the rewards. Sometimes, they are the one who's pressure and expectations are put on. Even if we want to have fun, we would rather do something that would make our parents happy, even if those parents don't appreciate the hard work we have. The eldest always sacrifices everything but those in the family don't appreciate it. Only a few does.

    How can she say she doesn't like her first child cos she is like her father? Ummm when your marry someone and have children with them there is a possibility that they have certain traits of their other parent.

    This is all on the mother. I've come to realize that the parents are the primary cause to why some siblings have these conflicts. It's always the issue of favoritism. The same goes to my family. We're three children. I'm the oldest. I've always been fairly neutrally treated, but my mother severely favours the youngest over the 2nd child and has done so ever since we were small. This favoritism has grown into resentment with the middle child who literally detests the youngest one. It doesn't help that the youngest one fuel the resentment.
    Parents need to understand that words have a greater impact than they think. Adults remember things from their childhood, especially things like this. Fair treatment among children is super important if you don't want them to fight in the future.
