That about sums up my rc experience. A full weekend building the thing, fine tuning, then broken in five minutes.
I feel your pain. Had a newly built hpi savage way back when. It was great till it got stuck wide open bounced off a parking block and into the woods. Great fun
Find a reliable basher and just keep fixing and upgrading. I can beat the hell out of my rc with no damage unless I crash really really bad.
@@jeremyhayes1756 that same thing happened to me on a nitro ready to run once. Was breaking in the engine, on the last tank when it went wide open, for some reason,straight into a curb lol. Damn thing nearly folded in half. I was so bummed because I didn’t have the money to repair it. Not sure why the cheap models default to wot when they lose connection.

In the early 90’s As a kid I combined rc and Lego and made a car far tougher than this! Using the 4 channel fm futaba gear I robbed from an unfinished trainer and the O.S .40 engine I can comfortably say it was faster too! With a whopping 1hp and 16000 rpm from memory and it was reinforced with mechano and super glue! lol it was slow by today’s standards but it easily matched or overtook local traffic (60kmh)

It didn't...these type of rc cars are meant for as close to pro circuit race tracks as you can get...these jackasses ran it on a parking lot that clearly had textured and contoured surface... obviously they did it for shits and giggles cause they got more money than they know what to do with...from views...

It’s a prototype. That’s why it’s 3D printed. The production model (if it does/will exist) hopefully has proper molded plastic

It’s still in prototype form. It has a wood bottom platform or “chassis” and the rims were printed. Imagine just a carbon fiber platform and regular rims bolted to the out drive motors… this is the AMG of rc cars despite the cheap materials. It’s two dudes doing this out of pocket.
@Toys for Boys rc oh it looks like it should be amazing, but surely you don't sell things when they're still in the prototype stage, especially not for $1550 - $2075.

@@toysforboysrc from what I've seen it's not a prototype, they have said that they weren't developing it further, it's more like a custom car,. It looks awesome but I honestly don't know why they would send it with all the 3D printed parts to someone like Kev.
its not what you do, you either get funding, save up some more or don't sell it to the public, otherwise exactly this happens!

This vehicle is a simple example of how people think 3d printing is engineering. Just because they can make a 'shape', does not mean it has any mechanical strength. It very obviously disintegrates in brittle failure. They should stick with crayons

Driving something so expensive with so little ground clearance on a regular parking lot is a clear sign that the owner might have the money but not the brains for such a car.
@@ThorstenWieking it wouldn’t have mattered if they drove it on a flat level surface. The wheels ballooned and starting taking the frame of the car out. They didn’t engineer that thing correctly or at the very least test it them selves before throwing a price tag on it.

Anyone remember the Tamiya TGX? I gave mine to my (then new) wife to drive it on a cricket field. She pulled the throttle on full, let it get up to speed, then immediately twisted the wheel full left. Car pinwheeled end over end and ripped its back tyres off (I hadn't glued them yet). Hilarious and an important lesson for 1:1 scale driving too...
