I've only just found this on TH-cam, thanks so much for posting it on the site. I've always admired Jim's singing and listening to the documentary brought so much back to me. Like him I was brought up in the tenements, although across the Clyde from him, in Rutherglen. My parents parties were exactly as he described, everybody had to sing, my mum hated being made to sing and yet she always had the best voice there. I've managed to find the CD, if you ever read this Jim, all the best.

Do you know if that cd is still available to buy as it sounds a little gem. I knew he did a version of red red rose but thought it was a one-off song, so to know he did a whole cd of scottish folk songs sounds amazing.
