    Larry Topper seemed to hide it well, and although he had been preparing himself probably for years for the day when he would have to let it go, it must have been tremendously heartbreaking to see your lifetime accomplishment loaded in the back of a U-Haul. I hope there is some solace for him in the knowledge that his collection will ripple out and bring great joy to many guys like me who will experience owning and listening to a record that they never believed they would find. We thank you Larry.

    Hi Josh😀 was lucky enough to snag a few records from Larry's collection and Acoustic Sounds

    So nice to see someone care for them their whole life, then get stacked 6 boxes high in a Uhaul. Love the unloading part in Kansas with the one completely crushed box on the left of the truck. Still mint

      @nickpreece18 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Poor Box of what were classic Mint LP's That's what happens when you stack them far too High!!!

    • @acousticsoundsks
      @acousticsoundsks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The box you're referring to contained CDs, not LPs. The CDs don't fit perfectly into the LP boxes that were used. You're right: That box suffered damage. The good news is that the CDs inside did not. As for the records, we unboxed all of them and none of the records were damaged. Every single box of records survived the trip from New York to Kansas without any damaged records. If we had suffered any damage, we'd have noted the diminished condition of those records and offered them as such.

      @@acousticsoundsks would be really nice if you guys listed catalog numbers, pressing plants info, maybe pictures of the labels of the albums. I'm not paying you for something based off 1 picture, and the word mint. You nees to work to earn my money. I want to see front and back cover, both labels on the vinyl, and additional info about what specific pressing plant. Maybe additional information about whether shrink wrap is intact. Maybe update your website from the original 1999 configuration. Maybe add updated security. Your site still doesn't allow characters to be used as part of a password. Not safe bud. Stacking boxes 4 high in a truck makes my teeth grind. Especially if everything is MINT?!?! Most audiophiles hate that word Mint, unless its sealed. Or minty for that matter. All this being said the UHQR series sounds fantastic, love them all. Try stepping up with the descriptions on the Topper collection

      funny how that's never mentioned, i hear some shit talkin' in the vid of how nice this and how nice that and bla,bla,bla but we all know it comes down to money-period. with that said, it would be interesting to know just for experience and collecting sake i think. great comment Mark.

      As a store owner with a TH-cam channel I never disclose how much I spend on a collection for a few reasons. Main one being no matter how much you say, half the people will criticize that you didn’t pay enough, the other half will say you paid too much. In the end, they treated this gentleman and his records with respect. That’s all you can do. Lots of dealers don’t do that. I’m glad these nice folks got this collection and he wasn’t ripped off by some crook.

    How come you priced all these records so high on your website? The exact same pressings in similar or sometimes even better/new and sealed condition go for 25-50% less than your prices listed. I am quite disappointed as I would like to purchase many of the records from this collection but am not willing to pay 1.5x market value price. Also disappointing coming from such a large company where price gauging shouldn't happen.

    • @D.E.E.P.Y.
      @D.E.E.P.Y. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1.5x price is actually not that bad. I see prices being 2x or more...particularly for Japanese pressings

    • @dmagoon8291
      @dmagoon8291 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@D.E.E.P.Y. 1.5x the price of available copies being sold currently, not 1.5x retail price as most of the LPs are much older and long out of print. Meaning you can go buy the same copy from another seller for a lot cheaper and in a lot of cases beter shape/sealed

    • @jlcougilljr
      @jlcougilljr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i totally agree 110% with you Top Tenn, i heard a LOT of shit talkin' in the vid of how nice this and how nice that and bla,bla,bla but we all know it comes down to money-period. with that said, it would be interesting to know just for experience ,learning and collecting sake how much was paid for the collection, but i don't think that will be mentioned because again, it's ALL about the money , which everyone has the right to do what they want, BUT for younger generations and new collectors it's total bullshit and is NOT a very good example for the newer collectors wanting to learn to collect, It's bad for the hobby as a whole!!!

    • @dmagoon8291
      @dmagoon8291 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jlcougilljr exactly! I love the Acoustic Sound presses but for collections like this or re-sale of OOP and hard to get albums I much prefer Mike from the In Groove who is completely transparent on the large collections he buys and sells for fair market value. Dylan from Noble records is also amazing and sells his records for incredible prices but all his stuff is only sold in store. I am looking to make a trip to his store sometime in the future when travelling is a bit easier as I am from Canada lol
