I have watched every episode of Continue? several times. This episode is in my top ten favorites. It might actually be my favorite. Great editing, great Josh vs. the Italians, great Nick editing and great Paul just winning at life.
We need a rematch between Nick "Bicycle Kick" Murphy and Paul "Wobbly Ass Ball Shit Super Kick" Ritchey. Josh "Living Dead Guy" Henderson can do play-by-play again. I'd watch it.
We need a Normal Boots Nintendo World Cup Championship. Who in Normal Boots is the Nintendo World Cup Champion? Can Paul beat Jon Tron? Can PBG beat ProJared? Can I get spaghetti and meatballs for dinner?
I may be wrong, but I am fairly certain that the football games for the NES were playable with up to four players. So they could acually form teams :) Great idea and i hope to see it in the future
Then you should also know that it's your Dr. Seuss talkin' asses that named it "Soccer" in the first place. Don't be mad that you guys succumbed to the unwashed European peer-pressure, while we kept it real over here.
When Paul scored the 6th goal I put my arms in the air and yelled at my girlfriend, "Oh my fucking God! NO WAY!" No word yet if she still considers me an idiot.
Man, that second match was akin to the legendary "Match of the Century" between W.Germany and Italy, when they met in the semi finals of the 1970 World Cup!
There's actually sequel to that game called Kunio-kun no Nekketsu Soccer League and it's even more awesome. More moves, more special shots, even running on a ball or carrying other players on your hands. Too bad it was Japan only though.
Thank you for acknowledging Dominic the Italian Christmas donkey. I used to feel bad in school because I was the only kid who know this song was a thing (and I'm not even Italian)
I am so glad you played this game, I freaking loved it when I was a kid! And yeah, the music was awesome. Every few matches in Single Player mode it would change the tune, and the last few matches were epic (and hard). I think West Germany was the final match, and the only thing making it easier than some other matches was the fact that their wibbly wobbly kick was actually worse than most other special kicks.
I love it when you guys play sports games, always the funniest and most exciting episodes X3 And I nominate this episode best OST in an [Anything ever] ! Also.. dat shirt doh.
Back in 1990 when this game was released Germany was still divided by a wall into West and East Germany. The wall was built after WWII basically as part of Germany's punishment for waring with everyone. You can read about it at Wikipedia I guess.
This is my favorite sports game, and I'm so glad you guys enjoyed it. Except for Paul, but I'm also glad that he didn't, because his misery had me laughing to tears. I was so bummed out that you stopped that game before discovering that the timer was counting down to halftime, but I forgot that there's no halftime in multi :< Also, I wish you guys got kicked in the face by the goalie, more. A really fun strategy in this is, if you shoot the ball at the net when an opponent is standing just a little in front of you, you'll kick the ball into him and knock him down. Doing that 2 or 3 times knocks him out (kills him). You can just destroy the entire opposing team and then it's just your team versus the goalie. Also, there are a bunch more specials depending on who you're playing. One of them basically turns the ball into a Dragon Ball energy ball and any opponents that walk into it get knocked out, and then it fires at the goal. One last thing - extra props for Ennio Morricone's The Ecstasy of GOOOOOOOOOAL!
Jesus Christ, the part with Josh just screaming his lungs out about his guys being dead had me in tears. Probably my new favorite episode!
I'm catching up on episodes that I missed and as usual, I'm laughing so hard that I'm crying. What a great episode.

What are your top 10? Do a playlist!
"Is that guy dead ???"
*I CAN'T*
lmao
Lost it at John Malkovich followed swiftly by "WTF? Giant King?"
Just like real soccer everyone is overreacting to minor injuries by lying on the floor, so authentic.
x-D
The Josh salt is so real.
Never stop playing sports games. Every single episode you guys play a sports game becomes an instant classic.
Man Nick was a salt mine. Ol' Patronizing Paul had him riled up at the end there.
Oh my god, the music has me fucking dying. Like the englishmen.
Alex Siegfried Your're*

Great editing boys
The songs after each goal killed me! Funniest fucking bit.
+Ocean Sage I know loled so hard when it played Nena
We need a rematch between Nick "Bicycle Kick" Murphy and Paul "Wobbly Ass Ball Shit Super Kick" Ritchey. Josh "Living Dead Guy" Henderson can do play-by-play again. I'd watch it.
This is your best episode. The edits are just golden. Deserves so many more views.
We need a Normal Boots Nintendo World Cup Championship. Who in Normal Boots is the Nintendo World Cup Champion? Can Paul beat Jon Tron? Can PBG beat ProJared? Can I get spaghetti and meatballs for dinner?
I second that motion!
I say Papyrus can give you as many plates of spaghetti you want!
I may be wrong, but I am fairly certain that the football games for the NES were playable with up to four players. So they could acually form teams :) Great idea and i hope to see it in the future
"spaghetti and meatballs"
Sudden Dunkey appearance, KILLED IM IN ONE HIT
+farjacko damn, i was gonna make that joke
Dude, I watched that reaction shot of the guys after Paul's final goal like five times. That was amazing, lmfao. Nick's face!
Paul mastered the Jecht Shot right at the end there.
This is one of my favorite episodes
Nick definitely edited this one. All the music choices were just too spot on.
As an Brit I can confirm that it's "Football". You know. That sport we played 500 years before you guys did.
(Don't tell everyone but I love you guys)
Then you should also know that it's your Dr. Seuss talkin' asses that named it "Soccer" in the first place. Don't be mad that you guys succumbed to the unwashed European peer-pressure, while we kept it real over here.
When Paul scored the 6th goal I put my arms in the air and yelled at my girlfriend, "Oh my fucking God! NO WAY!"
No word yet if she still considers me an idiot.
It was a fuggin' sweet goal, tho.
Man, that second match was akin to the legendary "Match of the Century" between W.Germany and Italy, when they met in the semi finals of the 1970 World Cup!
I have great affection for this game, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching you gentlemen discover its wonders.
That bicycle kick was worthy of an epic-maneuver sting.
Fuck yeah! River City Soccer!
To whoever had to edit this one, I salute you.
DarthEnderX Looks like Nick had to bite the bullet. It's in the video description.
Best episode of Continue yet! You guys are great
great editing music and one of the best continues ever
Lovin all the extra edits in this one :) Awesome show!
There's actually sequel to that game called Kunio-kun no Nekketsu Soccer League and it's even more awesome. More moves, more special shots, even running on a ball or carrying other players on your hands. Too bad it was Japan only though.
Oh, and there's a Kunio Basketball and Kunio Ice Hockey too.
Thank you for acknowledging Dominic the Italian Christmas donkey. I used to feel bad in school because I was the only kid who know this song was a thing (and I'm not even Italian)
Fantastic episode it's always great when you guys get competitive I love it.
By far the best video in a while!!! Good job guys!!!
I love you guys trying to use the correct terminology (and mostly being correct) awesome episode guys!
Those "gooooooooaaalll"s were not NEARLY long enough.
Also, cool shirt, Paul.
See, now you boys know the excitement that a good soccer match can bring!
5:02 all I heard was Dean Martin go OHHHOHO and I cracked the hell up.....good shit guys
That final shot was awesome. Great match
I am so glad you played this game, I freaking loved it when I was a kid! And yeah, the music was awesome. Technos sure made violent, fun games.
Always bet on Kunio-kun.
I love it when you guys do sports games
Nick Murphy, I need a fresh pair of underwear and a cigarette after that editing job.
best episode ever..
The music really makes the goals.
Where the hell is the ref? Isn't killing people a red card or something?
It's at least a stern look of disappointment from the ref.
he dead too
Dresdenstl Yeah, what is this, Mutant League Soccer?
I identify as an Italian Christmas Donkey
This one needs to replace one of the Top 10 vids on the main page. Awesome.
I played this game all the time as a kid. It was always the most fun to knock out everyone on the opposite team and see the carnage on the field.
Best episode in a while. Loved it.
Hahahaha! Goal six was Andrea Bocelli's "Time to Say Goodbye"! Hidden smart joke!
Ya boi Paul straight killing it! Paul Ritchey is best soccer mans.
I am trying to not die laughing at my desk at work right now.
Sono un Italiano e questo video mi ha fatto tanto ridere con le canzoni messe ad ogni gol.
Grazie.
Paul calling Nick a cheap bastard is the highlight. That's true friendship
After watching this, I see that Paul v Nick exemplified what I love about soccer. Whata game!
I love it when you guys play sports games, always the funniest and most exciting episodes X3
And I nominate this episode best OST in an [Anything ever] !
Also.. dat shirt doh.
Continue
I almost cried when Josh's players wouldn't get up. Too funny.
Outstanding! The ending had me on the edge of my seat!
Back in 1990 when this game was released Germany was still divided by a wall into West and East Germany. The wall was built after WWII basically as part of Germany's punishment for waring with everyone. You can read about it at Wikipedia I guess.
By the way. I f****ng LOVE this game! I had it when I was small and played it so much! It's so great! :D
It was built that the eastern germans don't flee to western Germany, not as a punishment
Yeah, no, that's not why the Berlin Wall was built.
It seems like I stand corrected. :)
Worth the destruction of Jupiter imo
I've never wanted an epic maneuver more than right here. 12:15
Anyone else thumbs up during the NormalBoots theme? Love these boys!
That last goal was the greatest thing I've ever seen
Fun times when your nostalgia isn't for the game, but the Andrea Bocelli songs they play for the goals, my mom played those until the tapes burnt out.
Paul shut down that comeback like it was the Battle of Little Bighorn.
This is why the EU and England didn't work together. The World Cup massacre of 90'
Holy shit I didn't know dudes could MURDER each other during the World Cup game!
Josh and Nick really Pauled it in this episode.
I marked out for the Sopranos theme at 9:10 xD
I just marked out to the comment. Will you marry me?
Josh might actually hate Paul more than Brad in this episode. Damn.
Impossible!
River City Soccer?
And Kraftwerk! They were West German.
I have the Neon Lights EP on glow in the dark vinyl (thanks dad!), and it's awesome.
This is like one of the only games where the console version and the Gameboy version are exactly the same. Nice Dominic the Donkey reference btw.
You guys should play International Superstar Soccer on N64 for the next World Cup, it owned bones.
In which nearly every goal is the result of offside not being called.
This was genuinely compelling entertainment!
Then again, I review board games, so I might not be the best metric for audience excitement.
Love when you guys play sports games. The Rape of Josh and The Wrath that Followed, literally made my day
Yooooooo that fucking ending! Never thought I would get so hype over this game haha
I find the lack of EPIC MANEUVER music during those moments.....
disturbing.
I used to rent this game at my video rental store growing up... Good times
Fun fact, re-skinned game about Kunio-kun and his high school delinquent buddies playing soccer. That's why they look like river city ransom sprites.
Goddamn I haven't thought about Becker in YEARS, bless these obscure pop culture references
dope shirt, Paul. where'd you get it?
Jesus i was laughing so much at Josh's anger. My wife kicked me out of the room
lmao...they have "Ronnie" Hextall in that net. Nicely done Nick.
what a great episode.
Yes! This is one of my favorite games on the NES haha. I love just killing the other team with shots.
This is reverse Sammy Sosa's Softball. I love it. TAKE THAT JOSH!
This is my favorite sports game, and I'm so glad you guys enjoyed it. Except for Paul, but I'm also glad that he didn't, because his misery had me laughing to tears. Wait, do you think Josh is called Paul?
Paul's the fat one, right?
+AmedeusMkII no, Paul is the one who says "I'm Paul" at the beginning.
No, you're thinking of Josh. He says "I'm Josh" at the beginning, not "I'm Paul."
Dumbass.
Nice editing Nick!
I can palpably taste Josh's rage.
Is it Sports Month?
Accurate representation of England's Euro 2016 performance.
what up what up what up
lol that comeback was hype as fuck for 11 seconds
I used to think soccer was boring, but it grows on you.... I just like sports for the sake of sports though
Was one of the musical numbers the theme from the good the bad and the ugly? If so that was genius.
8:16 It's the fucking Catalina Wine Mixer
I love this game!
_Um actually the most goals in a game of soccer was 149 to 0 because one team was protesting a call a ref had made._
song at 12:16?
