The H400 replaces the current H390. It boast a wide range of improvements in both sound and features. For the first time including a control app with radio and podcasts as a bonus.
I still love my absolutely incredible sounding Hegel H590 integrated amp. Brilliant gear!!!
Due to the unfavorable perspective (too close or too far away with the zoom and a lot of shaking) I couldn't see how many transistors the device has. Since only NPN (4x 2SCxxxx) transistors are visible (5:09) which are mounted high up on the heat sink, the PNP (2SAxxxx) transistors must be at the very bottom. So there must be 8 complementary transistors installed per channel. By the way, I'm an electronics engineer. A very nice design, I like it a lot. 🙂

Oh no they didn’t have the people’s favorite anymore, the AKM dac chip. I wonder how it sounds compared to the h390.
Make sure you use a lossless source like Apple Music, not compressed Spotify.
For the money Hegel charges, the amp's display and the remote is a disgrace.
Why do high end audio brands intentionally shun modern conveniences and design?
It should have a large colour display on the amp and use a state-of-the-art App.
It's 2024 isn't it?

I didn't hear this amp so I can't comment about this amp but my friend has another hegel amplifier and i don't like its sound , yes it has Great dynamics and excellent control of bass but piano doesn't sound real don't has the body that piano should have ,i guess it's a matter of taste, it's not my taste.

@@georgepyrgelis4217 Oben sind nur NPN 4x und unten müssen logischerweise 4x PNP sein, insgesamt 8 pro Kanal = insgesamt 16 Hochleistungstransistoren. (German)
There are only 4x NPN at the top and logically there must be 4x PNP at the bottom, a total of 8 per channel = a total of 16 high-performance transistors. (Englisch) 😉
The internals of this amp are disgraceful at this price. Wires and ribbon connectors routed all over the place, over preamp and DAC boards. It looks like a DIY job.
