    Hiring a streaker is definitely a creative way to see if someone’s blind and I just love that he was Sharona’s date.😂❤ That was a better twist for me than the woman being able to see.😂

    In Mr. Monk and the Naked Man, Monk was so uncomfortable around nudity that he was visibly disturbed. It was mentioned that he doesn't look at himself naked I believe. In Mr. Monk Goes to Vegas he can't even look at a woman who is scantily clad. I think he averts his eyes here when the streaker gets very close but he doesn't seem as put off as in the other instances. Is this an inconsistency, or is his blood just up because he has his quarry? It is true that, sometimes, the solving of a case helps him set aside some of his problems.

    • @CoolBeans-lq3zu

    One of the greatest things this show had was great characters and even greater guest stars
    Edit: Also now that I think about it, this episode feels like a lead on to Monk's own struggles with the death of his wife. Think about it, the woman was blinded by a driver who killed her family and the moment she has the opportunity to get revenge on the person who done it, she gets it. So to lead on from that throughout the show, Monk would potentially deal with the same outcome albeit the moment he finds out who killed his wife. It's a nice detail that some of the cases have more meaning then you'd think.

    • @filipvadas7602
      @filipvadas7602 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      To be fair, a fair few cases relate to are somehow show what Monk is dealing with internally.

There's no need to throw her into gen pop. The only rub there is the second shot shows it was not a crime of passion but a thought out one, but it isn't a nail in the coffin since she's cooperating fully. Could go either way.

      She says she has vision in one eye, so her other side would be blind. She would have gotten so used to the cane it would feel wrong without it. Lots of people who wear glasses from childhood and then get eye surgery struggle with not putting on their glasses when they wake up, feeling wrong without the glasses on their face because its such a familiar sensation. So she probably would just use the cane on her blind side to give her a heads up on something she might run inside on that side. Field of vision overlaps, but its a big blind spot also with one eye depth perception would be effected.

      Its implied that it was head trauma that caused her to lose her vision and that it was another case that caused her to partially regain it.
      Believe it or not, there *are* documented cases where people lost and then regained their sight in a similar fashion. Reality is sometimes stranger than fiction.

      Yes you can when it is from brain or nerve trauma not direct damage to the eyes. There have also been similar cases with things like deafness or paralysis being cured by trauma there have also been several over the years where people were cured of various things by being hit by lightning.

      Mary Ann Franco was a 70 year old woman who had been blind since 1993 after a car accident damaged her nerves. She fell down the stair in 2016 and regained her sight.
      There was also the case of a New Zealand Woman who had been blind since she was 11 getting some of her sight back after hitting her head on a coffee table while bending down to kiss her dog.
      Back in the 80’s Edwin Robinson was struck by lightning during a storm and had his sight and hearing returned to him after he had lost them in a trucking accident years before.
      It’s extremely rare, but sometimes trauma can fix such damages. It’s not recommended to try though.

      In the Cambridge dictionnary for instance, one of the definitions is
      "An unusual and mysterious event that is thought to have been caused by a god because it does not follow the usual laws of nature"

    It does seem a little odd that guy got such a short sentence for a crime like that. Then again the couple was black and since it was about 36 years ago it would’ve happened in the 60s and given how black folk were treated back then some probably thought they weren’t all that worth getting justice for. Personally, I don’t think I would’ve had the guts or heart to do what she did.
