      Une question, quels sont vos paramètres exact en PO4/NO3/ Cal et Kh s’il vous plaît ? Et apportez-vous à vos Acropora du Zooplancton et Phytoplancton ?
      Merci beaucoup ! 😉

      PO4 - 0.1
      NO3 5-10 (currently 1.1 but dosing to get it up)
      KH 8-9 dKH
      Cal 450ish
      I don't dose any plankton, just nitrate, reefroids (powdered coral food) and sometime acropower (aminos). Not sure they do anything, but they don't seem to be hurting.

      Vos PO4 à 0.1 est un taux voulu que vous maintenez régulièrement ? Quelle tolérance accordez-vous ? Et pourquoi un taux aussi élevé car on nous préconise toujours 0,03 ?
      Désolé pour toutes ces questions, je me lance dans les SPS du genre Offshore, Millepora, Hyacinthus...sans sable, gros brassage et forte lumière.

      @@sebastiensourzat6378 My phosphate seems to always read about 0.1 ppm using a hanna checker. Now I have heard someone say theirs was no longer accurate after a year of use, so who knows if that's accurate now. I think running your tank too clean is not good for acropora. I and many others are seeing higher concentrations of NO3 and PO4 are actually showing better growth/coloration. Some may say to keep it at sea levels, but if you look into some of the most successful SPS tanks, many have traditionally high concentrations. So I am not trying to maintain a certain number, but what I have is working for me so I am not changing it. Now some strains of acros may do worse in these conditions but those that I have seem to be doing just fine.

    At 3:08 with the forest fire digi, are the white tips a sign of growth or stress or what?

    • @DAVODAYS
      @DAVODAYS ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats growth, a good sign!

    • @NBurgReef
      @NBurgReef  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Growth - the coral grows faster than the zooxanthellae can populate the new tissue. Alk burn can create white tips too but you won’t see polyps and it will quickly be covered in algae.

    New to the reef hobby here. Just switched my 65g tank from fresh to salt last week too. Are these actual names of corals or we just giving nicknames to make it easier. Feel like I'm reading names a stoner would name his weed lol beautiful looking coral btw!!

      lol they’re trade names. Most in my tank are Acropora species. Trade names can be helpful to not buy the same strain/colormorph or to compare best/worst growing conditions with others. Most newer strains to the hobby have silly names, older names are more descriptive of the coral, e.g. Bali green slimer is a green coral from Bali the gets very slimy when touched.
