I consider The Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule as separate continents in the same planet, in which are part of a solar system close to the Lylat system, and wherever Pop Star, Zebes, SR388 and the Pikmin planet are. Also somewhere in space is the Formula Zero Grand Prix

Like, I've debated on putting Zebes and Pop Star in the same Cosmic System because of both your point on Dreamland 3 (I think) and Super Smash Bros. Melee adventure mode. But I also think about Brawl's adventure mode. Sometimes I want to call Smash bros canon on all games' franchises, and sometimes not y'know

purplepotatochipPPC I think mushroom kingdom and hyrule being on the same planet is a massive stretch. The great flood in ww, and multiple dimensions and timelines disprove this. However, it would be very possible that they are on separate planets that often orbit close together. Other than that, I agree with your statement. The Nintendo universe is very much LINKed together.(pun nintended)(I'll see myself out)

I always dreamed that we'd one day get a game with both Mario and Link together. Not exactly like Smash Bros., but something like an adventure of some kind.

Ganondorf was born I millenias before Bowser (who I believe was born in the 60s or 50s) and Ganondorf is well a gerudo and Bowser is a deformed koopa and to top all that off they exist in two separate universes

I can't remember the reason but I know that they made the change to Mario I guess starting in super mario bros 3. So in a way, they "share" them. :)

Iirc, Miyamoto always wandered off as a kid. Towards caves etc. This idea inspired Zelda. But he despised a chained dog during those adventures (which became the chainchomp). But I don't know how the chomp got added to the Mario games instead.
Chain Chomp's first appearance in a Mario game was SMB3, which released in Japan 3 years before its first appearance in Zelda, ALttP.
The Nintendo World really is small, I’ve played Odyssey and haven’t discovered any references to any other Nintendo Franchises. I love these Crossover Easter Eggs. I want Kirby and Samus to meet again like they did in Dreamland 3, heck you could even throw in Pit and the Kid Icarus series since Pit fights creatures very similar to Metroids.
And now Link's Awakening, by far the game with the most Easter Eggs is getting a remake on the Switch 👌

The file select screen is a remix of Water land's music from smb3 at 0:44. (Water land's music is also heard in ssb3ds in the stage, 3d land.)
I got stuck on that Chain Chomp room in Link To The Past for YEARS thinking you had to defeat them to reveal a key.

Well, Fujibayashi did start with the Oracle series, which uses the Awakening engine. I imagine if he returns as director once more, he'd be willing to pitch a remake of some kind. I'd love it if he pitched a game where Link has his original look from before Ocarina of Time again. And since the Zelda series goes into different timelines all the time, it wouldn't be too far-fetched if Link suddenly dawned the appearance.

I don't think the file select theme is a reference to water land as much as water land was a reference to Zelda. The file select in just about every Zelda game is the fairy fountain theme which also appeared in Zelda 1. So it would be as water land is referencing the fairy fountain theme

The file select theme only started appearing in ALTTP, which came out long after Smb3. There was no file select theme in Zelda 1 or 2.

You missed one! The Thwomp in Key Cavern (Link’s Awakening). That one far more closely resembles the ones in the Mario universe.

Yume koujou doki doki panic which was changed to become Mario world 2 for America is a common origin between both Mario world and Legend of zelda, for example Doki doki panic uses rupees, hearts and potion bottles as well as masks imagery. Many of the monsters and items on both game series came from it, all the west Asian influence come from a game inspired on the Arabian nights from there the genie lamp on Mario party 3, the shy guys with tunics and mask and so on.
It would have been nice if in Mario Odyssey there was a Kingdom entirely based on Zelda. I mean I know that these easter eggs are simply cute wink for us gamers to enjoy but it would be quite awesome if the games had an in-universe explanation as to why enemies such as Chain Chumps ended up in Hyrule.
