I have to agree. I am old enough to remember the very first episode of SNL. This performance just does it all.
The cheer in the audience seems genuine for once. Most talkshows, the audience is just clapping because theyre told so..but the cheer here is just so heartfelt. Im so happy for him!

One of the best SNL performances I have ever seen. The commercial break right before this they cut to Noah on stage right before he performed this, kind of like the warm-up outtakes they sometimes do before the performance, and he tapped his chest, almost as if to say that he was so flattered....

This is straight victory lap for him in spite of all the upset that came with writing that heart-wrenching song, we never expect the darkest clouds to have golden linings but god its brilliant when they do, just like this.

He sounds mad nervous on the first half of the song, going out of tempo a few times, although he ultimately killed it and I'm happy for him. I can only imagine how terrifying it must be to perform live on national television

I thought the first verse started off a little shaky, but he started to hit his stride during the first chorus, and from there and only got better. By the end it was phenomenal. One of my favorite SNL performances in quite some time.

I was catching up on SNL, watched Justin Timberlake's performances, then kept going was so excited to watch this as I love Noah Kahan after finding him. He was 100000% a better performer than JT which breaks my boy band loving heart, just amazing!

I had a buddy named Noah. He always sang that song “self destructive anthem” and I spent YEARS re writing it to be a folk song so that I could sing it to him. I learned to play guitar too. Every time I hear Noah kahan I get chills and I can’t help but imagine my friend Noah singing along to this as we drank and danced and gave no fucks. I told him also that I’d have six pack abs one day too. He left. I haven’t seen him since he fell for someone else more worthy than myself. But if ever he was embodied by music, this song would be it! Btw, I can sing, while playing guitar and have a six pack finally!
