Coincidentally (or perhaps not), you painted it in Gundam Bael colours.
Well, Bael hadn't been announced prior to Grimgerde's appearance in Season 1, I'm sure, so most likely a coincidence.

When I opened the box for this I was like, "wait, this is all that it comes with?" However I was surprised with the build, it was really fun, and the simplicity just adds to it.Also the kit made me fall in love with this thing's head. Not a big fan of it in the animation, but with the kit you can see the mooneye and I think that looks sinister.
A Char clone and his red mobile suit. A Gundam staple.
And his fixation on younger girls.

Absolutely love that Tallgeese inspired paint job, especially the gold on the wings of the head; my one dislike about the HG Grimgerde is that the wings tend to look a bit more like rabbit ears, but doing them in a different color really brings out the best in the Grimgede's unique head.
High praise, here. This is definitely my favourite _IBO_ design as well, and I'm leaning toward the HG rather than the 1/100. But I'm also trying to wait for season 2 in case it gets any upgrades. We already know Barbatos will, since it received major damage the last time we saw it. Hopefully the season 2 releases will also feature the alternate hands we've been missing.
Of course it will have upgrades. This is Gundam. There's always going to be a reason to get the next one.
Love the direction you took with the colour scheme! It almost looks like a completely different MS.

I've been following every video of your IBO reviews and u definitely gave me a very detail,
thoughtful and helping suggestions about the IBO model kit I'm interested with.
One thing I want to know is that in this video at 2:08 what's the Barbatos one on the left?
Since I never see this Barbatos mode **specially** the configuration of its legs outline. Are u using different part of lower legs from another Gundam kit in order to enhance its leg appearance(config)? If so which MS did u apply to this Barbatos? Sincerely looking forward to your answer.
The legs are from the HG IBO Gundam Kimaris kit.
I'm sure you get this question a lot but; what is your method of painting?
I've looked up painting methods for gunpla and they normally note sanding and painting your parts before the construction. You, however, always have a full-build before AND after painting.

When painting a gundam do you necessarily need to use a primers????
Also if you have a clear gloss spray can you paint over stickers
This was my first gunpla, just finished building today. It was fun to build and looks great, though the waist and torso come apart way too easily to get any good poses out of it.
Cameron MacDonald I have the same problem with mine! it's a great kit, but the waist coming apart too easily spoils it a little bit....
I gotta get around to build this kit...

1/100 is the easily the better kit. But it's not a substantial improvement.

I already have the 1/100 Barbatos, Kimaris and Gusion Rebake built. Im assuming after I see your 1/100 Grimgerde review im going to have to pick that up as well. Although, it might look strange with the rest of my shelf seeing as it'll be my first Non Gundam Mobile suit out of my 10+ Master grades and the rest of my 1/100 IBO models.
I would say it'd look weird per say since you do have some other 1/100 IBO kits.
But honestly, I would much rather Bandai make Master Grades for IBO.
It kind of feels like that is what they're intending on doing but trying to make profits in the mean time instead of just making a Master Grade.
HG --> 1/100 No Grade --> Hi-Resolution Model
They all have inner frames and then you build armor parts on top.
That is the basic build process of a Master Grade; the only difference being is that with an MG you get a more detailed inner frame, parts all done up in proper plastic colors, and clear parts.
I know the difference. I dont really see the need for MG IBO kits just yet, but I have no doubt they'll probably make them when the series is over.
i'm curious to know how you do the shadings of the edges? is that done with airbrush or stuff like pastels that have been rubbed on???

I have a question about the arm articulation. I watched another review and it showed that the arm had two joints which added up past 90 degrees. Do you know what the deal is with that?
Yep. I made a mistake - it's a double jointed elbow. Mine was just really tight.

Yes I have it. kind of a waste of money since I'm never going to use the Rebake parts.

Wait, a 90 degree bend on the elbows? I have my HG Grimgerde right here and it can bend enough to touch its shoulders... In fact, you have it posing more than 90 when you show it unpainted with the weapons at 3:06
add some red on the shoulder and BOOM. it's a thinner version of AV-98 Ingram!

grimgerde is a majorly badass mech without quesiton. i hope to god we see it again in the future.
and that it was not canabalized into the grimhelm. that is an awesome mech too but at the same time it is an overlty specialized one.

Between this one, the Graze Ritter, and the Gyan Revive, i'm going to have plenty of knight-like mobile suits (which are some of my favorites)!
Those are all cool... but all my attention is pointed squarely at the Gyancelot.
Now see, I thought you were just making a pun, and were talking about the Gyan Revive. Then, a few minutes ago, a preview for Build Fighters season 3 shows up in my recommended. I watch it several times through, and once I manage to stop freaking out (Build Fighters is amazing, my favorite anime for sure), I notice the beauty that is *THE GYANCELOT!!!*. I wept a manly tear and praised Gyanko for her excellent taste. I was on the fence about her character, she was annoying at times....now, *NOPE*, that suit makes up for any personality quirks! The model should be really good, because the Gyan Revive (i'm assuming it's based off of that model), is a really solid kit.

I really prefer the stock color, (OCD with kits, I never change their colors) but your color scheme looks pretty cool
Yeah I'm generally the same way. But sometimes I need to change things up as a palette cleanser for constantly building the same way.

I believe in the timeline, the Grimgerde came after the 72 Gundam Frames and was the predecessor to the Graze.
