A couple of things I noticed about this movie is that the price was repaid in the end. Three dragons were killed, and three royals were killed as the dragon demanded. Their lies didn't save them. Also, the dragon having lava like fire is good on two separate occasions. When Elodie was climbing the crystals, a dragon with more gaseous flame could have killed her easily, but the lava would have dropped back onto the dragon, harming it. The other reason is that Elodie's land is frozen, without heat. Lava doesn't need a source to burn (unlike fire would need wood) and could help her people greatly. Sorry about the long comment. I'd love to see you react to Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water.

Unless she's wanted to die since they were killed, but dragons live for hundreds of years if not thousands and are really hard to kill.
Every generation in that Kingdom the current prince must marry 3 sacrificial girls from wherever which are then given to the dragoness, as per the ongoing agreement. Once that is done, he can then marry for an heir. Next generation it must be done again. The dragoness will live for a long long time so she will have taken and would have continued to take her due for many many generations.
