I got mine in the other day, it’s great imo. I had my sp stollen long ago when I was a kid and this just brings me back to the good times. Also the fact they include most games other than Mario roms (legal reasons) is a nice touch for the price
It was me! I stole it! Jk. But my SP does have ruby in it currently. Has for the last 15 years. Unsure if I could even remove the cartridge at this point lol
I enjoy the objective review, but I think I would like some videos also that just talk about your general thoughts and how you have been using the device. Maybe one objective review and one additional one on the device and how you use it, games you played, etc.
Good review. I just found your channel. I am currently waiting on mine to arrive. It just cleared customs. I truly which they would release this with an AMOLED screen.
If you install muOS you sleep resume back to the game and it doesnt waste battery its a game changer. Elevated this to the perfect retro console. I bought another one as backup system as its my daily driver now
God I wish I would have ordered it earlier, now Im so desperate to have it in my hands!!! I hope I get it by next week though. Nice review, I really like that you didnt give it the best score, so we know the bad parts too.
This thing is great, this is my go to travel device at the moment so if goes with me everywhere. Button sound does not bother me. Yeah it my need some tweaking on and titles but most of my games run without problem. Yeah it's feels great to hold too. Awesome video, you covered everything 👍🏾
I wanted to buy this for Atomiswave but then I discovered that I can, actually, play Atomiswave on my Redream emulator in my tablet. So, I'm just gonna play there for now but still consider having this someday cause I love the GBA SP form factor.
Ordered directly from Anbernic and it is FINALLY in my city, so only 5 or 7 more days to get to my house! Only took 15 days to get to my city. US sellers can get it to me in a few days now for only $6 more that what I paid. Last time I order directly from Anbernic.
Ordered 2 weeks ago and (YunExpress) tracking says still in china. Took 9 days for tracking to update. This is the last time i order direct. Shoulda ordered from Keepretro, they are faster.
Yeah seriously. I'm definitely just gonna pay the small upcharge for it to actually get here. I'm still waiting on it and I ordered it 30 minutes after the launch time. It likely won't be here for another few days, it's not even in my state yet lol
Caonpatability is up to Majoras Mask and Minish Cap I would say. My main complaint is those extremely loud buttons. Many compared them to xbox dpad and xbox dpad is way too loud for a train full of people if I mash buttons in Tekken 😅
Awesome review! I ordered one as well recently, currently waiting for it. Could you explain how you successfully changed the look of the Main Menu of the device? (The minimalist black/white icons) Thanks in advance 😄
@TechSpaceCowboy See I saw these, but I did not know if they where the same thing. Since it shows different brands on these ones. But everything else appears to be the same. So I did not know if these where knock offs or not. But if these are still Abernic rg35xx sp. Then I'm buying one right now. Thank you for confirming.
Had mine for a week. You need to do put knulli on then do your compatibility test again i can play dreamcast, sega saturn, pce cd, Sega cd . Knulli has 64 bit architecture
I've had mine for a couple days now and I have 2.5 complaints. One is the d-pad. It needs a lot of force to actuate and after an hour or 2 of playing Megaman Battle Network 6 my thumb feels tired. I wish it was a bit squishier to lessen fatigue, but I love how accurate it is so its a trade off. The second is the battery life. It seems to die pretty quick after just a couple hours of use with GBA gpsp core. All the big reviewers made it sound like we'd be able to get 10+ hours and that's just not true. 3-4 is more accurate. Slight complaint is the way Anbernic set up RetroArch. A lot of settings wouldn't save and it took a lot of time to figure out why. Not super noob friendly but once its set up it runs really well and the build quality feels really good. I'm happy with my RG35XXSP so far and the nostalgia I get when I flip the screen open is awesome.
Yeah, the 8+ hours would mostly be for lower powered systems like SNES/GBA and below. PSP/N64 and others in that range would cut that battery life in half
Finally an honest review. Too bad no mention of how they used the battery as a heat sink to save costs lol. Or that you can’t use bluetooth for audio output. (Some custom firmwares make it possible I think)
There's a small airgap between the battery and the chips so that isn't really a problem. It is funny tho that one TH-camr (can't remember right now) added an actual heatsink to bridge that air gap and made his device a ticking time bomb lol
Haha ok I see. Makes sense then. I was under the impression that the battery sits on the processor. But yeah, adding a heatsink ensures the heat goes directly into the battery. I just wish they did what Nintendo did 20y ago, and filled the battery compartment so that it just won’t touch the processor. Those 2cm of plastic
Ordered one :) can't wait. Love your theme ! Does it come stock or did you had to fiddle around ? 4:16 gave you a like, I was not ready for that yeeha 🤣 Cozy, efficient review love it.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite handheld review channels.
👾
Nice review, il be waiting for the biased review where all categories get a 10😂

Same here dude. Stolen along with Pokémon ruby!
It was me! I stole it!

I lost mine in college...
I really like everyting about your rating system, Rating by zelda games is hilarious but very clear and makes sense. Subbed!

That’d be incredible
That is one clean intro. Top work lad.

Yeah if Amazon has these things I almost always want to go through them, just for the speed and ease of return

The nostalgia factor is strong in this one.
8:06 Fiancé? Congratulations!! Way to just slip that in there.
Need one!! My girl stole my 35xx! Haha

In the settings they have one called icons and you can choose from a few there. It’s not much customization but it’s something I suppose lol
@@TechSpaceCowboy Oh I see, thanks! 🙏
Great content bro. 😎 ❤️
gonna order one soon, im in the USA and wondering how long it takes to be delivered?
WHY NO BLUETOOTH HEADPHONE COMPATIBILITY 😭😭😭😭
I'm just trying to find a place to buy it in the US. All of them are in China it seems and my bank does a fraud alert when I try to purchase.
Amazon my guy. a.co/d/3dhC2n6

Last I tried knulli didn’t have firmware to work with the opening/ closing of the device
Yeah .. small price to play for performance and more systems to play.
Could you please share a link with this spreadsheet?
Why arm painted black
Good content, not sure why Objective is in quotes though
Because it’s hard to be truly objective.
And if they weren’t in quotes I’d get a bunch of needless hate in the comments lol
8:30 got you a sub lmao

I leave the nitty gritty to Russ lol
