    Weekend Vlog / September 2020 / A Chilled Weekend And Max's First Vlog / Chloe Pedlow
    I think Max is going to be taking over a lot of the future Vlogs but who cares ?! He's just too cute!
    We actually had quite a busy weekend even if I didn't film most of it, after feeling unwell for quite a while and a bit of a stressful Summer I am so glad I picked up the camera again :)
    Thanks for watching, much love!

    Aww what a difference from his first day to now ❤️ it would be amazing if you could do a video with some recommendations for the first few months after adopting a rescue. Do’s and don’t’s etc. We are hoping to adopt one from Romania, so any advice would be amazing xx

    Beautiful boy! Thank you for rescuing him and showing him a loving life :)....wish though, people would feed their animals something better than kibble. It takes no time to pressure cook carrots, rice, etc and some inexpensive meat; eggs, peanut butter, cheese, etc :)

      Hello, he has a lot of snacks during the day to compliment his 'meals'. As we are still training him in some areas he has a lot of treats - so we try and substitute these for more rewarding things like vegetables, peanut butter or fruit etc. We don't like to give him dairy products though. gorgeous garden and dog! what a lucky boy! I got my dogs a non toxic extra large fluffy pillow filled with organic cotton and kapok bc regular dog beds are filled with polyuerathane. poor babies breath that in when they lay in bed.

    I enjoyed this vlog, my dog Mia who I have decided to call Gaia arrived at 8:20am on Monday and she was so shy and is extremely scared of her lead. I can tell Max loves you a lot and love how he sits and gives you a paw so sweet. I think he was just happy to be home again at the end of it. My girl is coming along and I think she has a great personality. My cat mowgli on the other hand who we took in from the outside ( we have had her for 11 years ) is terrified of her but I’m hoping with time that will change.
    I can’t wait for your next vlog that Venus body butter has me really intrigued where can I purchase it?
    Ps. There is just something so soothing about watching you make a cuppa lol it has the same effect on me as watching a fish tank lol 😂

      We were lucky that it wasnt the lead he was scared of but more of what putting it on meant ... what was going to happen to him... where were we trying to take him... he has learnt it means walks and he now gets excited. When I used to read about dogs changing suddenly I was like no way will he be like that but he did. He suddenly just seemed to get excited if we put his harness on. He still hates being pulled around the neck though. So the slip lead is on for emergencies only. Its definitely a long road and getting to understand the way they react to certain things and remain calm and confident as they most definitely tell when you get nervous.
      If you find my post on Instagram about my last Authentic House subscription box ive linked the account that makes that whip cream - its amazing.
      I know I love the calming intros people seem to be doing at the moment. I love learning new ways of editing too. Xx

    Really enjoying your vlogs and updates about Max 😊 💚Very informative, so thank you! My partner and I recently adopted a Romanian rescue from Pawprints to Freedom a month ago and felt exactly how you guys did as we too had a very rocky start. She was terrified of everything! Walking was a nightmare and we're still trying to crack the separation anxiety. She is improving everyday but the car is still an issue. How long did it take for you to get Max in the car?

    • @adventureswiththepolleys
      @adventureswiththepolleys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Max actually enjoyed the car the first time but then he isn't so keen now as he gets car sick. We use some travel sickness tablets and they do work . He isn't actually sick but drools and drools, which isn't nice for him. But the tablets really help. We have to pick him up and pop him in the car as he does pull away from it but hes fine once he's in.
      Its such a long road and they have periods of going completely backwards, which is so heartbreaking.
      Hope you're getting on okay? Any other questions don't hesitate to contact me on here or Insta DMs. Chloe x

    • @Roofeh16
      @Roofeh16 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adventureswiththepolleys My dog drools really badly as well so I'll keep that in mind about the car sickness! We weren't having any luck trying to get her in so we booked a trainer who ended up having to pick her up and put her in the car herself!
      It definitely is! Same with ours. She'll have days where we see so much improvement and then it's like having to start again on some days and it is frustrating. Today for example, she's been fine on walks but suddenly started refusing to go.
      Thank you! I really appreciate that! 😊 x

    He's gorgeous! I know it's a few months on, but just in case you haven't tried this food, I thoroughly recommend it for anxious/nervous dogs. A neighbour commented about how chilled our dog is now, told him we're trying a new food, he said it's definitely working! lol

    Chloe Pedlow: Max is such a cutie!!! So glad he got a good home. Question: why can't he sleep upstairs with you two?

    • @adventureswiththepolleys
      @adventureswiththepolleys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Pam. Sorry for the delayed response to this message.
      He does now sleep upstairs with us most of the time, although he takes himself downstairs a lot of the time too.
      We were advised in the early days to set boundaries and also to help with separation anxiety, to try him in a different room at night time. He actually didn't mind being downstairs over night on his own and settled quickly. We also think it helped with him eventually settling himself quicker when we were finally able to go out and leave him at home without a lot of whining/howling but every dog is different. Thank you for your message. Chloe x

    Hey there, I scale across you videos because we are looking to rescue a dog and was wondering if youd be happy to point me in the right direction.
    I love Max btw he is so lovely! We are based in haywards heath Sussex.
    What organisation did you use?
    How much did it cost?
    Would you recommend this as a method of rescue?
    My partner works from home full time so the dog would never be alone.
    We are desperate for a dog and have the patients and love in abundance.
    I hope to hear back from you soon x

    Dry dog food so bad for dogs!

    • @adventureswiththepolleys
      @adventureswiththepolleys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What are your reasons for this? All dry dog food? We have given every dog we have ever had in our family dry food and have never had any problems , or concerns from the vets. He now has tailored food to suit his diet too but thank you for your concern. Chloe x

    • @normamimosa5991
      @normamimosa5991 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adventureswiththepolleys Dogs are carnivores. Almost all dry dog food is top heavy on carbohydrates. Extremely light on protein. You won't get concerns from your average vet. Just a few understand nutrition and will actually venture into advising their customers about nutrition for their pets. Some even sell the lousy pet food. One family I know feeds its dog vet-recommended dog food -- about 95% rice. That dog is in for quick aging and old-age problems. Dry dog food leads to kidney disease. At a minimum, just imagine if you were a dog and had to eat dry food all your life. Dogs in the wild do not choose dry food.

    • @adventureswiththepolleys
      @adventureswiththepolleys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
