4 days ago, Facebook asked me to sign up for the FACE RECOGNITION thing and I refused, I was told that if I didn't my account would be stopped! I still declined but my account is still going. There is more to it than what they are telling you about Facebook, I don't think it's anything to do with connecting the world HOW THEY SAY IT IS, there's more to it and I haven't quite put my finger on it yet, but I will. It seems to me the key point that was mentioned and was not expanded on was the fact that the app developers contract clearly stated his intention to collect personal data. This should have rang alarm bells but didn't and Facebook signed the contract. Therefore it is Facebook that should be held to account for signing such a contract and allowing personal data to be collected which was then sold on.
This fact obviously doesn't exonerate Cambridge Analytica but Facebook must share the blame.

this is obviously a game, these liberals want to take it down. they're desperate. facebook has paved the way that even the common people (who initially have an account only for posting photos, attentions it gets from posting, and doing the same to friends whose there also) can avail and express openly to other posts' related to the interest of their own country. It has given the platform whereby (as example) Filipino's anywhere in the world could freely express and influence their support for their president. It's a level playing field for everyone. Use Facebook or not. It’s that simple. It would be stupid to think FB doesn’t know almost everything about our lives. Hell, my phone listens to me even when I don’t have Siri on. I can talk to somebody and a recommended video will come up on TH-cam or be on my recommend interests on google referencing the topic we talked about.
