Ptsd is a real damn thing. Living 24hours a day, while in constant fear of ones life, for extended periods ranks at about a 19 on scale of 1-10 in the suck factor. It is infuriating how it cant be turned off or washed from memory, and its frustrating to KNOW other people will never understand your internal struggles....best thing you can do is give praise, be patient, and be the only person willing to stay when others leave.
@@eduffy4937 I agree. I don't have combat PTSD but have been diagnosed with complex PTSD myself from childhood trauma. So, we can at least get on the same page so that helps a lot.

Me and my fiance have literally been through hell and back...addictions...prison...cps... and I moved out a little over a year ago and thought I was done FOR GOOD THIS TIME...but here I am back in our home and the happiest I have ever been with him...I am a walking dumpster fire when it comes to my mental health and he made a point to learn about what to do and not do this time around to trigger my PTSD....

I found this song when my kids dad and I was going through some shit in June. Had it on repeat for hour and crying. Today I had to do something I don't like doing. I had to have him promise me to be here for me like I was for him when he lost his cousin in Feb. My depression is getting so bad and I can't get myself out of it. I am afraid of getting so down I won't be able to get back up. To have him hold me at that moment was the start of the healing. I don't ask for help unless I really need it. I loved this man since I was 15 we never was in a relationship just close til I had to walk away from him before I found out of was pregnant with our 2nd daughter 5 yrs my heart was broken. He needed to do a lot of growing up. I had no choice but to grow up at 15 raising our kids. Our oldest got covid bad last Dec in the hospital, vent and all 2 weeks. I was so scared. But he was there holding me when I was crying the first 3 days til she was able to call us. Since then we been together. 20 years we both lived our lives. He had 3 more kids that I love just as if I gave birth to them. I got married/divorced but no man can ever be enough cause he had a part of my heart that no one can bandage up. *Sorry so long.
