OU lacked on sacks because every team but like Texas and one or two other teams played in max protect. Which led to a lot of pressures and so many interceptions.
Casey Thompson did come home. He's from Norman and his dad is a legend at OU.The D didn't have many sacks but was a top team in the nation at qb hurries. Key Lawrence got told he should look elsewhere because his snap counts gonna go down.
Why does no one mention that Seth Littrell played fullback for OU from 1997-2000? He was on the 2000 team that won OU's last national championship. Co OC at OU is like coming home for him.
All in all the defense was vastly Improved over a year ago, but you could see a drop off after the midway point when we started losing people to injury. Pass defense (besides the Texas Tech game) was actually pretty solid all year. OU was the 11th most passed on team in the nation so the passing yards against them is a lot, but they held teams to their lowest QBRs and completion percentages all season most of the time. That’s also without a pass rush - meaning our DBs were doing good work. We also weren’t getting a pass rush because teams were playing max protect against us and also opted for quick throws. In the games that teams didn’t do that (like Texas), we got plenty of sacks, like 5 in the Texas game.
OU has beaten UT 11 out of last 14 years. One of the 3 years we didn't beat them was a49-0 UT throwaway year for ou. But you will pick them again next year and every year in the future like everyone does every year 😂. But the podcast was good. Thanks
I guaranteed Oklahoma will be in the playoffs this year. Mark my words I'm down here in Norman, Oklahoma and Seth trail is really, really good at what he is doing. And the offensive line coach from Oklahoma is one of the best offensive line coaches and he has flipped this offensive line around and they are good and everybody is going to be really in a Shock. When they find out at the end of the season, that Oklahoma made it to the playoffs. Mark my. Words
While there are questions with that OL, that is just because they are all new, therefore an unknown quantity. Fact is, they got highly experienced replacements. They literally have more starts on their OL than any team in the entire SEC and Ohio State. They have an OL coach that is easily in the top 3 in college football. While it is unknown, anyone that has kept track over the years knows that Bedenbaugh will have them lined out and ready to win. Al
I think if anyone can get that O line prepared, it is Bill Bedenbaugh. He puts a LOT of folks in the NFL. Look it up. My true concern is that Oklahoma has not done well on the road under BV. That needs to change.
How quickly JA can learn on the job, dealing with constant pressure and making quick reads and decisions. The running game will be key to helping him. The TE and possibly the H back position may re-emerge to open up this offense. OU needs to get back to that style offense. There is a deep receiving corps, with speed and ability to get open and give him relief valves for success. Our Defense will be key in. Keeping games close, and getting the ball back.
The SEC is really underestimating OU's talent. Only 3 players made All-SEC. That's for 1st, 2nd & 3rd team. To compare, Bama has 16. OU's only reason for such a low O/U for the season is schedule strength. We're picked to finish 8th in the SEC. That being said, we OWN texass & we own Missouri. That leaves 4 teams, 2 at home and 2 on the road. We've underperformed on the road under BV so losing to Ole Miss and LSU would be no surprise. I'm calling for home wins against UT & Bama. Go ahead and call me a homer but emotions will be running high in our first SEC game to give us the edge. I believe our O-line will be on the same page by the time Bama comes to Norman to give us the edge. That's a 10-2 prediction which, with our SOS, puts us in the playoffs. Just my opinion.
Oklahoma will surprise a lot of people. ALOT

And it's not like he doesn't have any coaching experience.
Who the f*** doesn't know that?

Kaden Helms best TE. Ethan Downs is trash- BV is making a huge mistake putting in upperclassmen over more talented freshmen and soph.
