On the ground floor there are a wonderful, well-stocked library, a billiard room, a private chapel, a spacious kitchen and big state halls designed with great attention to detail. On the first and second floors there are several halls and bedrooms.
This villa has been designed with great attention to detail and its rooms tell us about the important artist that created its Palladian floorings, frescoed ceilings and its majestic collection of refined works of art.
Its luxuriant leafy park was made in 1847 by Marcellino Roda, gardener and landscape artist of the Savoy royal family; it measures approximately 98 hectares and is eclectically adorned with statues, steps and small walls. It is also home to several plants such as cedars, oaks, maples, sophoras, and cherry trees and also features a small lake surrounded by centuries-old trees, azaleas and rhododendron.
Another important and exclusive feature of this estate are its two heliports.

Correct proportions the most important think in architecture and the most forgotten issue in "mansions" nowadays.
Isn't it funny how nobody can ever get it right? Then again, zoning restrictions frequently make it impossible to correctly proportion anything but a single-storey villa. Southampton, New York, is the primary example, with its ridiculous 32-foot height cap. And then, there are the building codes governing stairs and flights of steps, both interior and exterior. Much of what Palladio drew, is now absolutely illegal to build.
These are not correct proportions. These are divine proportions.

@@TTTTrisha A good examples I always tell people with proportions are the windows and doors. A lot of times you see Large windows in modern mansions, but the ceiling height is barely above a normal home. That causes the top of the window trim to touch the ceiling. The same goes for doors. Now here in this structure, the doors are quite tall, and the room itself has very high ceilings too to accommodate it. To keep this short, the room scales equally in all parts. If you have high ceilings you need tall doors and large windows. The opposite is true too. You want tall doors and big windows, you need high ceilings. A large stairwell has a long and shallow staircase. The tall ceilings help to make it longer as well, and therefore, large rooms and a large staircase. Everything in the mansion fits. Nothing looks out of place. The issue with many McMansions today is that they try to replicate that grandeur appearance, but use off the shelf pieces to make it. Meaning you get normal sized doors and the same door trim that you might find in a 'cheap' home. You might get large rooms, on paper.... because they have a lot of Sqft but the ceiling height often does not compliment the sqft.
There are many more things I could list, and once you see those things you start to dislike the lack of effort some architects put into these modern mansions. Granted, they are limited by what the contractors can get and the overall cost.
CentralNintendo1 I always wondered what felt so off about some of the more modern mansions and now that you’ve said, I totally know what you mean! The proportions are less satisfying and you never feel fully content with the layout of the house. Thank you for explaining.
Just one note of criticism, make these videos longer and spend more time in each section of the house.

I’m Italian just to clarify a couple of things.
1. Italians are white (Different shades, some are paler some are darker but no ethnic italian would describe themselves as “Black” or “POC”
(Unless they have a different Background than Italian)
2. Everyone in Europe is having less children and that is simply due to Progress.
Having less children is a sign of progress as it means that people focus a lot more on Career and their lifestyle instead of Family and children.
Notice how the only countries where families are having 4+ children are the developing countries.

For as grand as this house is. . . it still has a feeling of being a home and lived in. That isn't always a balance that can be easily achieved.
It is certainly a pleasure to see period pieces and antique furniture. For me, that brings warmth to the rooms. What an amazing property.

It must be difficult trying to sell these type of houses,obviously there is the huge cost to buy and maintain but also,how many people would really want to live in a museum?

The issue is that you can't be comfortable in the home. You are afraid of putting a glass of water onto the table to not leave a stain or afraid of sitting on the antique furniture to not wear out the cushions etc. With some slight adjustments to certain furniture pieces, I am sure it can be made beautiful and comfortable.

Das Haus ist einfach toll. Die Lage ein Traum. Besser geht es fast nicht zu leben. Nur die Einrichtung, die Möbel usw geht gar nicht. Modern, hell einrichten, damit Leben ins Haus kommt.

It's really quite impressive, but I only imagine properties like this becoming less and less desirable as it no longer aligns with either modern tastes or lifestyles. The maintenance would also be eye-watering. A Palladian mansion was once the dream, but today it is a really niche thing, even for the .1%.
Cimena is kind of out in the sticks. There's a reason all of the Juventus players live in the hills of Borgo Po.
imo, these types of properties never go out style or taste, and people who dont like them dont like them because one they don't understand them or aesthetics, or two they cant duplicate them, so whatever they newly make they try to relativize it, when in fact these properties and their details are based on science and nature, to be manmade and blend in with their surroundings.
I think most people would find this quite lovely and well-designed, but to live in such a place, one would need to subordinate one's lifestyle, design choices, furnishings, etc to the property. Otherwise, you'd just turn it into a kitsch castle.
I'm just saying that the age of the Padrone/Landed Gentry has sunset.
John K It’s too much a task to own a property like this, when you can just have a much more comfortable penthouse or modern villa somewhere I agree. Culture has changed a lot and people too. But surely there will always be someone willing to buy it.
@@More_Row I found the website for the house and it is rented out for high-end events, weddings, etc. That makes a lot of sense to me.
I hope whoever owns it (and similar properties) can maintain it. I recently heard that 1 of 5 such properties in Britain were torn down after WWII because the owners couldn't maintain them. These really are treasures.
@@JohnKruse Renting it out for events and galas sure makes a lot of sense to me. Heck, that could even be your job if you owned the property. Doesn't sound to shabby, maybe a bit boring after a while, but humans are like that, no matter how decadent and nice they have it.

Absolutely beautiful but I suspect there are some hidden maintenance issues. (Note: the grass around the pools perimeter needs trimmed. See time marker 1:04 )
Maggie Satterfield always maintenance issues. With this house you need to hire a caretaker, and it will take him a year to identify them all, and a lifetime of work.

Ok ill take it
My wife and I put an offer to buy this place . She's nonstop hagged me until I did so. She plans to tear alot of it down and make bigger. No less is more. She says , more is grandeur. The furniture is tacky she says and needs to be auctioned off. She wants the pool moved. And put a horse stable where the pool is. We need three helicopter landing areas for round the clock protection somewhere near the end of the property. All I can say, instead of "ok" honey to everything she wants and says, I desperately need someone to over bid the offer I put in to buy the place. I feel, she will make the place ugly with all she wants to do to the place. The property needs to stay the way it is. And too, she has a tendency to bankrupt every husband she's been married to and I being the sixth husband that she has married , I would rather die rich and not poor.
So please someone please buy this place before I go bankrupt .
