Sonic Frontiers has made such a comeback from when it first was shown off, I’m genuinely exited for this new game now.
You say that, but I loved every single piece of footage shown and I'm sure tons of others did too.
What they should do next is remake sonic the hedgehog 06 and make sure to take time to develop the game and make sure no glitches are in or glitchy collision detection. Meh I'm just dreaming lol

@@alienxotic5028 Exactly! A lot of people don't realise that and blame the game/developers even though they themselves said it was an early build of the game. I played the demo and I thought the game was great, far from perfect, but definitely miles above Sonic Forces.
There was never a comeback. The game always had potential.
If Sonic ever returns in a future Smash Bros. title, these NEED to be added to his moveset. There should be more to his playstyle than mostly just Spin Dashes.
Or if Smash Bros ever return :'(

@@The_Admiral_Angel I think it will be, and I seriously hope it will be. The series has gone on for long enough, and Sakurai was getting seriously unhealthy. There comes a point when a company needs to know better. While I agree with your idea about Sonic in Smash, I'm more than happy with Ultimate being the grand finale of the series
@@NatsuDragneel1x I'm somewhat still certain that we'll probably get another game in the future, if the fandom's loud enough for it. And the next title will probably be lead by someone else, because I do agree that Sakurai deserves a long-earned rest. Because while Ultimate does feel like a proper send-off of the series, a lot of fans still aren't happy about some of the things in it.
Some fans still didn't get their popular picks, the lack of additional single-player content, some franchises are still underrepresented like Zelda and Kirby, while others like Fire Emblem are the exact opposite. The list goes on.
I mean I wouldn't mind if we didn't get another Smash game for like 10 or so years, but with a new Nintendo console being made in the future, you know Smash fans will be dying for another title soon.

The skill tree reminds me of Bayonetta’s techniques she could learn at the Gates of Hell. Some moves look situational, but a good amount of them can be chained together. Combat is looking engaging and intense.
Well, Bayonetta and Sonic are Sega so it make sense if they use something similar but yet different.

Engaging? Half the moves are just mini cutscenes you have to wait through and string together. How less engaging could it get than that? It's like ulting in Sonic Heroes except 20 years later in a "modern" game for some reason. Imo that's super disappointing because that's gonna get old real fast. The amount of time you'll spend just kinda sitting there during a longer fight is goofy

I can see where you're coming from. If the attack duration was shorter as opposed to a mini cutscene, you could probably improvise combos more. Sonic's attacks can be stringed together, but they do seem to have a limited/fixed ending point that limits certain combo chains. That being said, the fact that you can immediately go into another move helps. Most of the engagement will come from moving Sonic around and positioning yourself for attacks. Also, timing parries and counters will contribute to increasing player input.
I noticed that Sonics' animations for his attack move-sets are a lot more smoother than in the last officially released video clip! I can't wait for what this game has to offer!!

Its Sonic, not Devil May Cry or Phantasy Star Online 2(Despite Frontiers litteraly look like New Genesis since both are SEGA Games)
For crying out loud SEGA made Unleashed, Secret Rings, and Black Knight before, and Frontiers has a Optional Auto Combo even THEN you have to work for it

@@MrBoingBD literally the most stupid argument ever. If I'm able to easily collect rings like that, especially in the heat of combat, I'm most likely gonna use it regardless if I don't like how easy it is or not. I'm not asking for much for them to reduce the amount you get.

The line "A normal enemy on Kronos island is NOTHING compared to those on later islands" genuinely got me hyped. Considering that one of the main critiques the demo got was that the enemies were too easy, hearing that the enemies would become much harder over time definitely got me interested.
No kidding cause the demo was the very start of the game lol.
im just hoping there will be a good selection of new enemies each island, and not "this one is different colored, has more health and attack and has one extra attack his lowers don't"

@@ShadonicX7543 the moves can definitely be stringed to make something greater. There also seems to be more depth than seen considering the fact that in the BGS symphony thingy we could see a little quick time event in order to do some sorta spin slash against the Ninja.
Tbh I think the main draw of this combat will definitely come from parries, seems like they put a lot of thought into the parry system

This one of things I’m most excited for. Sonic’s always done good with homing attacks, spin dashes, and boosts and such but this new combat mechanic really shows what he can do when he gets creative with his speed.

That Wild Rush 1:45 it's fast and it looks somewhat similar to Movie Sonic's move in climax of the 1st Sonic film against Eggman
The upgrades and moves, combined with the unlockable skills, feels like the perfect marriage of the Adventure games' upgrades and the Storybook series customizable action RPG elements and skills. Every part of Frontiers has me excited now.
Glad to see there’s even more to look forward too in this game!

THis game is shaping up nicely. Loving the Skill Tree. I was floored when Sonic Adventures added enhanced items to the characters, but this is going beyond that.
Fr, they really where like “here’s an empty map with a sonic copy paste and 2 ramps with as horrible gameplay as you can get and we plan to release it in 4 months which is an impossibly short deadline considering there’s a lot more that goes into shipping a game out and advertising, etc, anyways cool byeeeeee” and then proceeded to make the smoothest, coolest combat system and bosses, adding forms, characters, so many amazingly detailed levels, and a at this point I think this may end up being one of the biggest sonic games ever

@@olii921 Well Pokemon gets a pass. They were trying to make a huge open world game thats just on the Switch. Noticable pop in would be normal
@@olii921 That popping was too close, even for a Switch. It was a concern brought up in the 1st trailer and it was expected to be worked on with the time to release, but... so close to launch? The risk here is that when you can't optimize the game enough to suffer such popping can be a sign of other glitches, and nobody wants another Sonic 06. But I don't mean to be negative, I'm just saying that anyone who's suspicious about this, has some ground to be so. Maybe is a tribute to Sonic R 😀
This combat trailer looks miles better than the one that was first shown at IGN.
Sonic in combat looks a lot more fluent than he did in that early footage trailer, he doesn't stand in the air no more after throwing a punch/kick, every move can cancel into each other which makes the combat flow better as well make it more fun (Best example 2:40, He does Homing Attack, standard punches/kicks, Sonic Boom, Homing Attack, tornado move(?) then finishes with Phantom Rush).
And the fact that he has more moves at his disposal honestly makes me want to get into every combat scenario and try them out. We might actually have a Devil May Cry Sonic game right here.

This legit looks amazing and I can’t wait to explore the starfall islands and see what the story will be like, Definitely going to do a lot of side quests to level up quicker and hopefully it will have new game plus.
That's pretty cool. I had a lot fun fighting as the Werehog, and while it's not the same thing, having Sonic with more combat options other than just hitting enemies as a ball still is very refreshing

Was cautiously optimistic at first, then along came the infamous IGN preview and that’s where I lost all hope with Sonic Frontiers. Now after the demos, trailers and previews I just cannot wait to play this game. What an incredible comeback
This is the part I’m looking forward to most, cause Sonic finally has moves and abilities beyond Homing attack and spin dashing that are just for Sonic and Sonic only! Like Sonic wins a lot of Sonic vs whoever discussions but now it feels real and he gets to be shown as a powerhouse.
Helps that some of these moves look awesome, loved seeing him make tornados and stuff here and there in past games.

The combat in this game is varied yet stylish, and the drop dash was also a fantastic addition. I can't believe it, man! This game might be up there with some of Sonic's best games! We're just a few more weeks until this game is released, and Sonic team might knock it out of the ballpark this year!

This feels so long overdue, the potential and creativity of a character with speed was always there. It's a shame they kept going rollercoaster/racing route over adventure. Fingers crossed for this game

This really looks like fun! With how much content there is in the combat, all I hope is that they add more content by having MORE than 1 playable character in the future.

God, I absolutely LOVE all of these new moves Sonic can pull off! The inclusion of a skill tree in a mainline Sonic game wasn't something I was expecting, but it's a welcome addition nonetheless.
Also, I don't think this was showcased in this trailer, but I've heard that one of the moves Sonic can use is essentially the Spin Slash from Sonic X-Treme. Not sure if it is merely a coincidence or not, but if it isn't a coincidence... then what an awesome touch, guys.

At first, I never really knew why the dropdash is in this game at first but now that we know that there’s some form of momentum in this game and that we’ll have 2D Cyberspace levels that are modeled after Classic Sonic levels, it makes more sense

Nah, what we saw during the summer was great. We saw a very early build of the game gradually progress and get better with each trailer.

Companies show their product off in a way that would make their target audience want to buy it and they didn't do that with the inital reveal for most people. The like to dislike ratio speaks for itself. There's nothing they showed of in this footage that they couldn't have showed off in the initial reveal.

Combat looks so EPIC! Also, is it just me or does this background music sound an awful lot like an emotional but epic version of I’m Here? I think this could potentially be the final boss theme maybe? We’ll see, but I’m so excited! 😁

Whenever I see someone who's typed "epic version" when referring to a song, I laugh a little bit.
I have Two takeaways from this. 1. A skill tree would have been helpful in The Black Knight. 2. Wild Rush should be Sonic's Side B in the next Smash Game!
