HT9815 4-Channel K-Type Thermocouple Thermometer - Unboxing and Review

I needed more accurate high temperature measurement for heat treating knife blades and found this RisePro HT9815 Thermocouple Thermometer for just over $30. Here's the unboxing along with some initial observations.

Just got one of these things, without a manual . It shows all readings the same as 32.8deg. The readings do not change. Button presses etc. work just fine. It shows a timer like symbol on the top right.Any ideas on what could be the issue ?

How do you calibrate this thing?

Drop it on the concrete floor so it will work way better, Mr. Mess
