1. Algorithm is in your favor, if your getting no views then your content sucks
2. Ask people to engage with you like tag a friend, comment, double tap
3. Give people a reason to follow (what do they get out of following)
4. Use 3-10 hashtags per post
5. Don’t put hashtags in comments
6. Checked if your shadowed ban in account settings (privacy and then account status)

None of this works😅😅😅 I've tried them all & I'm definitely not shadow banned. Ig is all about money & ads you pay to post. Hashtags no longer work either. You can't even see your post under hashtags because it only shows TOP HASHTAGS now. This is all bs, I've been on ig for over 10 years and I'm very active in stories, posts reels etc... my content is very random but in the last year no one sees my content due to the ads!! I used to come up on the explore page frequently until meta took over & capitalized IG!

As a brand (not a personal account), do you suggest following and interacting with competitors and other brands that your target audience might be following? The goal is to start showing up under their "Suggested Profiles". It feels a bit weird if a brand account is liking and commenting on another brands account.

Now should I schedule the posts or manually post them. Reason I ask bc let’s say I record 10 tiktoks in a day. I can schedule them out or even posts for IG have them scheduled which will allow me more time to work on newer content and not forget a post

I use to get about 200-250 likes on my posts, now I'm barely getting 10. I haven't changed the way I've done things and it's only a personal account of my photography, I only upload new content as and when I get round to it. Great video. One big question though....How much of any of these steps are possible without "boosting", or paying Instagram?? Seems like you got to pay to play. This whole Instagram thing seems like the ones that pays the most money to "boost" their Instagram will get the most exposure. I know that you have to create great content, but shouldn't it say "You have to create great content then pay more than the others in your niche to get YOUR stuff noticed"? Am I correct with this...or way off?

After 2024 my reach to non-followers dropped from 200-1k down to literally 10-20 People. Also Followers tend to not engage your reels when you do a lifestory, to notify them. I guess i need to start over lile i did many years back...

lol. Every single one of my posts got zero non follower views. Then they changed my suggestion feed to nothing but landscape photos for over a year. Then when I started posting proof of that they started suggesting my posts to countries like Iran and Turkey. I eventually left.

you cannot go to settings to see if you are shadowbanned. Those are actual flags they will tell you about. Shadowbanning, however, they do NOT tell you about.
Your account standing can look squeaky clean and you can still be shadowbanned

What happened to just posting a great photo and people just liking it because we have the audience..all of this is bullshit. So many great photographers will no followers and shitty photographers with many followers because they play this stupid game
reminder to not ALWAYS ask people to engage. you know those artist accounts on insta who BEG people to like and copy link? you don't want to be that person, so just keep the "asking for engagement" short, as in "double tap if you like this kind of content" and not big paragraphs stating the "very low reach my content has been getting"
most importantly, remember to enjoy filming and creating your content and to have fun
Thats a great point, try make it genuine when you do ask. Make it specific to the reel, eg 'comment your favourite effect' or 'what do you think of this?' little prompts, rather than 'Please copy my link so I can get reach' like you mention
