Sir, it's not about the money alone. People travel for various reasons. 90% of the Nigerian I know in Canada are way more successful here than if they were in Nigeria. Young men and women in their laye 20s and early 30s are very successful by doing the right things. Most of their colleagues who will have such levels of success in Nigeria will do all manners of shady things. Yes, a lot of people are also doing well in Nigeria, but at what cost? Not everyone will travel, but as of today, Nigeria is a terrible place for so many people. It has ruined the lives of many young people. My advise to everyone is this; if you have a legitimate means of leaving Nigeria for a good cause, please do so. But don't burn the bridge if you have a very good career back home.

It’s good that you retrieved your words about this topic. Not all Japa comes out negative. This career of yours, you built it up over four decades.
The present greedy and selfish government doesn’t even allow someone to build up career or business for one decade. Very disappointing for the present generation, let whoever want to move on, move. Good luck.
“Ikoko(hidden) aye o ya ju ikoko orun lo”.
I love your programmes on radio ever since. Keep it up but be sensitive to certain topics sir. More wisdom I pray. People like you will continue to multiply in our land. We will get to the promise land in this country.

Sir with due respect, most parents relocate just because of their children to have a way better future in education and other skills of life, for the 1st maybe 10yrs it might be shaky but after getting your residency papers things gets way easier that if household wickedness isn’t involved…

Baba Olootu leave people alone. Rate of exchange nko? Hard working people will make it if they travel abroad. Owo Igbo kii run. Shit money no dey smell. There's no steady income in Nigeria! Lots of civil servants in Nigeria are on half salary - half of 30000 Naira!

Don't mind him. If himself once lived abroad while he was young. The fact that it's stew for him now does not make it mean it will stew for anybody in Nigeria. Even himself was not reach 10 years ago after 30 years broadcasting.... The Bank Manager he illustrated is just doing a survival job as a transition for now. He should call and ask him in 2 years time. He will tell him a different story.
