Does it come with abs? I am looking at something similar with low miles but looks like no abs. I am also checking out a suzuki m109r and turns out that doesnt have abs as well.
@@BigSmittyRiding Oh the seller of the 2014 Valkyrie told me the bike does not have abs. it is optional and did not pick it when he bought the bike. Is the valkyrie and m109r comparable in performance or comfort? I was originally looking for the Vmax as my third bike but those are hard to find.
@sandeepramlakshmanan3646 ahhhhh, I forgot it was optional as mine had it on there so I just assumed… so I’ve only ridden an M109 one time and they are both pretty comfortable as cruisers go. They feel night and day different because the motors are vastly different. The Valkyrie with the flat 6 cylinder sets low in the frame, whereas the M109 has a big V-twin. Both are great bikes and it just ends up being which one you prefer and which meets your needs. I’d love to give you better advice than that but I think you can’t go wrong with either one.
those are not Air Filter Pods, those are your RADIATORS !!! your Air Filter is under the Gas Tank !! the Valkyrie with a stage 1 does 125HP and 125 Ft lbs , even bone stock it's rated at 117hp, if you think the Valkyrie is a straight line cruiser, you just have no riding skills !!! i take mine on twisty coastal and mountain roads and i can keep up with sport bikes no problem, Honda calls the Valkyrie a Mega Sport tourer, and as someone who once owned an FJR and a Ducati ST-3 the Valkyrie in the Right Hands is Every bit as nimble, the bars are just a simple 1 inch bar, you just have to find ones wide enough at clamp to fit under the console and be aware you might be changing wiring and hoses for brakes and clutch. Love the Blue, its the Color i wanted but black and maroon were all my dealer had left of the new leftovers so i got black.
I made a few mistakes on the vid... I was sick and seriously screwed up a few things. I said it handles great and I’ve ridden her pretty damn hard in the corners and curves but I still believe she’s best as a straight line cruiser in my opinion. I’m gonna put her on a dyno soon and see what numbers I get just for the sake of knowing for myself. Thanks for the comment and be safe out there!
It doesn’t really. The only comparison is that they are both cruisers. The BMW has about the same power as the Valkyrie. If you ever sit in a BMW and fire it up it immediately has a lean to the left when you hit the throttle. It’s in a video of mine. The one about TH-camrs exposed. Check it out. Still a great bike but if I had my choice of the two I’d buy the Valkyrie. Hope that helps.

Hey Big Smitty..dig the vid!!!.. I have the same exact bike. I feel there are two HUGE things you forgot to mention, and I mean H U G E... 1. The stock tires SUCK ARSE!!!! Maybe I missed a comment about this subject, and if I did, I apologize... however, if you didn't, and you are are still running the stock tires...or have replaced the originals with the same exact $hitty arse Dunlops..YOU HAVE NO CLUE how good of a handling bike this thing is!!! Yes, you cannot get the correct size radial in a 19" size. You can though, however, run a 120/19R..and they work extremely well. Pirelli Angel GTs or Michelin Pilot 5s.. For the front if you go Michelin you'll need to get their *Trail* tire... I had the Michys...awesome, but I like the Pirellis more... The 120size Pirelli is a sport touring street tire..hence it has a slightly wider paw print. I cannot stress enough how important it is to get the damn, crap arse Dunlops off the bike. The second thing I need to mention is to NOT run ethanol gas. Yes, the manual says up to 10% ethanol blend is okay... and it will run fine... BUT...if you wanna REALLY feel that bike move man...run 89 octane ETHANOL FREE gas! If you cannot get it like I can't get up here in northern Illinois...treat the regular gas with a fuel additive... Lucas Oil makes one called *ethanol fuel conditioner*.. works very well...I put a shot full (one ounce) in a full tank. Again, I cannot stress enough how much of a difference pure gas is in that bike... Seat of the pants estimate of an extra 2-4 ponies... not kidding man... ALSO...running it.. the bike gets near 50 mpg man... Other things I did was run allot of different oils and I found the Lucas Oil 10w/30 full synthetic racing oil to be THE BEST.. I tried them all...Honda, Castrol, Mobil, Amsoil...all the 4t synth stuff.. The Lucas Oil was the best. Bikes revs quicker, smoother, quiet...lasts all season long... Also, Amsoil full synth gear oil in the final drive, and lastly NGK Iridium plugs. My Valk SMOKES *most* things on the road...with the exception of large sport bikes...and big dollar sports cars (Hellcat..etc)... It also handles SOOO well..and is SOOO smooth it is like riding a jet airplane... At 60 years old...I have owned and rode a bunch of different bikes since 1973... and I loved most of them (also have a Yamaha Warrior 1700 also kick ass bike)..but this 2014 blue flame Valkyrie is insanely the best bike I have ever owned... no comparison..nothing comes close... I just LOVE the way it sounds (you were right about break in and sound..not to mention power increase) and the power delivery is world class. Peace dude!
Thank you very much for the feedback and for the information! I replaced the tires with the stock Dunlops. They handle ok... I’ve heard great things about the Pirelli’s and the Michelin’s. Thanks for that. I haven’t changed the plugs but you’ve peaked my interest. There’s only one station close to me that sells ethanol free gas but I’m very willing to try it and I’d love to see the results. Thank you for the input and for the ideas. I plan on trying them and I’ll comment back with my results!
@@BigSmittyRiding Dude...wow, cool... Seriously again..with the tires I have mentioned...it is A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BIKE... it turns the bike into a sport touring machine..no shit... plus it rolls WAYYY smoother...The stock tires are total garbage... And again, the bike with no ethanol is a big diff too... I don't run any of my engines (other then the car) with ethanol in the gas... I am REALLY curious to see your replies afterwards. I can tell you're a passionate guy like me about your bike. What I say to everyone... *Gasoline* engines run BEST on *Gasoline*..not cheap, dirty arse alcohol like Ethanol... Cheers man...
@@BigSmittyRiding Cool..dude... run a couple tanks..and you'll really start noticing the difference. It's not a huge diff, but it is noticeable... The bike will run smoother, idle better...and accelerate quicker..better torque...plus..you will get better mileage man... 50 mpg if you are cool with the throttle...and with a 6.5 gallon tank..dude...you can ride forever on a tank. The best gas again is regular octane ethanol free. Second best is running regular octane with the fuel additive as mentioned (Lucas OIl...Startron, Stabil, Amsoil..etc...they all make one) and lastly premium ethanol free fuel. I think the Valk is one of the best bikes ever made man...and when you get the new tires you will definitely most likely agree... Damn thing is SOLID and it's nimble as hell too...*snap* lane changes... Cheers!
You have to turn it on and use the selector buttons to run through the alphabet to get the message. It’s been a while since I did it and I no longer own the bike. I’ll try to find a video or resource to help you and post the link here.
Here you go. Long but this is how you do it: On the instrument panel, left button is SELECT and right button is SET. 1 - Turn ignition on 2 - press and hold both buttons until digits start flashing 3 - If clock is correct, press SET for each digit, otherwise press SELECT to increase the flashing digit, then SET to move to next digit 4 - Press the SET button to move past the Brightness setting (or use SELECT to change 5 levels) 5 - Pres SET to move past the miles and speed choice (miles or kilometers) 6 - Your finally at the Opening Display. OP/ED SP means show the text, OP/ED/NR means don't show that when the ignition is turned on 7 - Use SELECT to rotate thru the upper and lower case alphabet and special characters, it only goes forward, holding the SELECT button make is scroll fast thru the choices, but don't overshoot it or you'll be cussing and going around again thru about 60 choices. Use SET to lock in the letter you want and move to the next digit. It only holds up to 8 characters. 8 - Press SET when done and turn the ignition off.

Thanks again for the ideas and the feedback! I’m gonna hit up the ethanol free gas when I ride on Wednesday and use the fuel cleaner.
Cheers!
@@AdrianRP1 man thank you very much! I’m looking forward to trying the gas and fuel stabilizer out? I appreciate the advice sir!!!
Big boy big bike💪👍
Think you should close the garage and have some alone time with your bike. Show her some love.
I did. We are now the proud parents of a Rebel 1100. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Great review!
Thank you sir!
Amazing review please i own 1 how can i change name and put my name put key i mean welcome note want to put my name thanks
You have to turn it on and use the selector buttons to run through the alphabet to get the message. It’s been a while since I did it and I no longer own the bike. I’ll try to find a video or resource to help you and post the link here.
@@BigSmittyRiding thanks alot bro wish y a nice day
Here you go. Long but this is how you do it:
On the instrument panel, left button is SELECT and right button is SET.
1 - Turn ignition on
2 - press and hold both buttons until digits start flashing
3 - If clock is correct, press SET for each digit, otherwise press SELECT to increase the flashing digit, then SET to move to next digit
4 - Press the SET button to move past the Brightness setting (or use SELECT to change 5 levels)
5 - Pres SET to move past the miles and speed choice (miles or kilometers)
6 - Your finally at the Opening Display. OP/ED SP means show the text, OP/ED/NR means don't show that when the ignition is turned on
7 - Use SELECT to rotate thru the upper and lower case alphabet and special characters, it only goes forward, holding the SELECT button make is scroll fast thru the choices, but don't overshoot it or you'll be cussing and going around again thru about 60 choices. Use SET to lock in the letter you want and move to the next digit. It only holds up to 8 characters.
8 - Press SET when done and turn the ignition off.

Nothing crazy here.. I talk to my Valkyrie too.. (or does that make me crazy too then.. ;P)
I think if they talk back it makes you crazy... but I’m pretty sure I’m on the clinically insane list anyway so I’m not the guy to ask!!! Glad to see Valkyrie riders out there. We’re few and far between!
