Rudra Khatri Missed a few, but not a bad list at all. I remember all of these. My only complaint was said an another comment, which was there should have been a mention when Charmcaster ACTUALLY WINS. It was undone (no spoilers as to how and why, but it wasn’t charmcaster herself who undid her technical mass murder of her entire realm), but still, for a brief moment Ben, Kevin, and even Gwen (who normally bested her) were literally and truly dead. That episode was dark as f*ck. I still remember the chills and numbness I had when the episode ended. I’d say the Ben 10 franchise has some of the darkest moments in kids shows I’ve ever seen. Right alongside Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go, which was a great yet weird show, but goddamn if it didn’t have moments or entire episodes that could be considered horror centric, and the shows art style can be misleading when you first watch it.

I would like to see a list like this but made by an dedicated fan like Kurro the artist or someone. But still these guys were quite one point for lot's of them. Like the Stockholm synonym storyline in a kids show... That's the most darkest thing. It just doesn't show that a cartoon can get so mature but also that it doesn't have to get out of tone. As even as a kid i was able to understand it and feel it.
Another thing that should have been added on the list was a moment from Ben 10 omniverse where a time bomb goes off killing off all these different dimension Ben’s. Including the original we grew up with. I remember feeling so sad after watching that.
But also when Ben absorbs Diagon’s powers inside of Ascalon and armed with the Ultimatrix, Vilgax claims Ben as Supreme Being and temps him to use Nigh Omnipotence to reshape the Universe in his image.
Notice how most of these moments are from Alien Force and Ultimate Alien . This shows how this version of him went to a darker tone.... Thats why they are my favorites

that is a dark moment. but we actually didn't went through that. they acted like nothing happened. especially ben. ben in the omniverse is so dumb he didn't even realized everybody he knows is dead. what can you expect from a guy who spelled annihilaargh after many tries. in ultimate alien he could spell perplexahedron without any problem.
Or the fact that after multiple failed attempts to kill an unarmed, defenseless version of Ben they then erased every other timeline from existence and Ben had to basically reboot the entire universe

Yes. I loved it. But the animation and detailing was less good compared to the OG. Omniverse was very childish, especially with no eyes for Ben and grandpa (Though Ben looked very cute for some moments).
Your right in some way, i'm 12, amd I have younger siblings but we still grew up watching this show and I've seen the garbage called Ben 10 reboot, what I'm saying is because it's not airing on channels doesn't mean you can't watch it.
Not necessarily, what's said on the terrible shows wiki, the reboot has improved after the first season and it became more interesting to watch. Plus, the reboot is getting a new movie this fall called, "Ben 10 vs the Universe." My favorite season so far of that show is season 3 because it has Kevin in it, and brought back Humongusaur and Rath. Plus, season 4 brought back Jetray after being absent from Omniverse.

She turns into her alien form and begins to grow really large, towering over Zombozo as she threatens him. Then it zooms in on him as he screams in terror. Next scene Ben and Kevin are running in to find Gwen eating cotton candy with Ben’s mom next to her. Zombozo is no where in sight and is never seen again.

Gwen ripped out one of zombozo’s eyes and ate it. Then made Zombozo have a bad stench for the rest of his days until he dies and ripped out parts of his stomach and ate it too leaving his ribs’ Skelton exposed that leaves so villains throwing up and contemplating suicide. It was implied due to Gwen eating cotton Candy. Temporary form of anodite not being a cannibal by a technicality. That’s that I think is my theory.
For real, Ghostfreak was absolutely terrifying. The build up to Ghostfreak's escape was so freaking amazing. Ghostfreak vs Zombozo in the episode "The Last Laugh" all the up to "Ghostfreaked out" was just awesome
This shows that omnitrix is a powerful weapon and can corrupt even good people. and its amazing that ben did not get corrupted by that power and still helps people without misusing it.
Gotta' say, the fact Charmcaster's sacrifice of all life for her father's return to life is not on here is a bit sad. To me it's one of the moments that is the darkest of all the series showing the raw desperation of one to be reunited with a departed loved one. Yes, the alien from Area 51 is a good example of losing an entire family but Charmcaster's resurrection method for her father answers the darkest question: If you could do it, would you?
This isn't a dark moment, but I still thought it was upsetting. In the episode "Alone Together", Ben and Reinrassig (Reiny) have to survive on a desert planet and we learn why the Highbreed wanted to wipe out the entire universe. Later, Reiny loses his hand after saving Ben's life and Swampfire repairs it, which was very heart-warming to me. They find the teleporter and Reiny says that he will stay on that planet because he's now 'unclean' because of what Ben did and the amount of time they spent together. Ben then gets home and his response to Gwen when she asks if Reiny got away is "I doubt it". It was upsetting to me because Reiny was willing to sacrifice himself for his people. It showed that the Highbreed really weren't that bad somewhere deep down in there. I don't know if anyone will agree with me and I don't really care, I just wanted to get this out.
If I recall, Reiny only stayed behind not as a sacrifice, but because he was so prejudiced he didn't believe he deserved to live anymore because he wasn't a purebred. It was only after all that time in solitude, that he realized how dumb he and the other Highbreed were for thinking like that, that they were on the verge of extinction because they inbred so much they were sterile and couldn't continue living until Ben dispersed random DNA into them.
I was waiting for it, it changes ben maybe if they mentioned ben10000 first appearance aswell when he went all serious but nothing very dark came from him. But only mentions how he "left vilgax into pieces"
@@redhood7650 At the end of the episode Max turns a null void projector into a hand grenade and sacrifices himself to stop the Highbreed. Ben has to watch this and believes Max is dead for the rest of season 1. It's not until season 2 that we find out Max is alive BUT he DID infact try to kill himself to save everyone. The grenade sent him into the null void by accident. Dark but noble stuff.
You forgot about this: In the Omniverse. Universe was destroyed, but Ben use Alien X power to create a near copy of his universe. That's mean everyone died but Ben create copies of his friends in new universe.
What about that episode in Alien Force where Gwen tries to prevent Kevin from mutating but then in the future Hex and Charmcaster won, Kevin got turned evil, Ben was captured and injured, and Gwen got killed by Charmcaster so that the Gwen that time travelled had to reverse the effects of the time travel.
I always thought they roughed him up and left him to die but survived. When I saw on the wiki that he was deceased I didn't believe until Kevin said that he was in fact dead. Made me super sad to hear that Pierce really did die.

Missed opportunity not to mention when Vilgax in Omniverse killed every incarnation of Ben throughout the multiverse ( except no watch Ben) or when even the fact that when Ben recreated the universe everyone he originally knew is technically dead and he's living with clones basically.
Yes, that last one is as hardcore as omniverse got. When you think about it, a story of Ben coping with that reality would be a really good story. Instead of just missing the smoothies from his original universe. Still, Omniverse was awesome.
I'm not sure if it counts, but what about in forge of creation, when Ben revealed that at least some of his joking and treating things like a big game were really just a coping method for everything he has to deal with. Particularly because the Ben who says it isn't the 16 year old one, it's the 10 year old.
The Omniverse episode "And then there were none" where Ben sacrifices himself for Non-Omnitrix Ben was one of the best moments. "Remember it's just a gadget, be the Hero"

I was expecting to see on this list the part of Ben 10: Omniverse where all the universe gets erased and Alien X recreates it, meaning everyone except Ben are just replicates :(
I’m surprised storylines from Omni verse weren’t included in this video. Malware’s origin story was pretty dark. Especially given his history with Azmuth. Not to mention the feedback storyline where we learn how Ben lost that transformation in the first place and how he basically became depressed as a result of its destruction at the hands of malware.

There was one more darkest thing in Ben 10: In the original future at the age of 20 Ben lost his childlike glee of being hero, resulting him more serious and mutilate Vilgax. This event caused Ben stay in different kinds of aliens, but most at the time at XLR8 during 10 years.
The "Catch a falling star" episode along with the ones Ben threatened to kill the Forever Knights were my two top favorite dark moments in Ben 10 universe.
morningstar isn't limited to one gender or the other, he just chooses to only focus on the girls. that's even more disturbing than just turning people into zombie slaves.
I never liked that episode because Ben is really underestimated the writers made him weaker than he really is, even Young Ben was more savage than Teen Ben and would have probably taken out Captain Nemesis in less than 5 minutes. Out of all the aliens he could have used, he used the less useful. He could have used Diamondhead or Chromastone and reflects / absorb the blast. He could have gone Ultimate and ended the fight were he nearly died or could have used his second most powerful alien, Waybig and be all like Waybig:"Are you threatening me, pretty big talk for such a little guy!"
@@Nameless82284 the main problem with all of the omnitrix's excluding the alien force one before ben tampered with it was that he would hit the dial too hard and the watch would transform him into something else. The watch was not even designed for a human it was designed for someone with the same size as Azmuth. Ben slaps the watch way too hard. This was explained later in omniverse. And the ultimatrix was a huge mess it was an incomplete prototype which ben wore for the whole span of ultimate alien because the old omnitrix self destructed and the new one from omniverse was still in development. If you remember correctly you would know ben also couldnt stay in ultimate form or any alien form for a long time because the ultimatrix was too limited and weak.

Ghostfreak never failed to give me nightmares back then. The only reason i stopped having nightmares about him is because I started to had the balls to watch courage the cowardly dog as a kid

Sure, it has issues, but when they focus on a good plot, it stands on par with some OG episodes. I mostly enjoy the hour-long specials. Innervasion, Ben Gen 10, Ben 10 vs the Universe, the special with Alien X hunting down alternate Bens (I forgot the episode name) those are awesome!

Don't forget the origins of the DNAliens. I remember in episode 1 or 2 Ben killed alot of DNAliens by crashing their ship into a mountain. It looked awesome at first, until they learn where DNAliens actually came from.
What about eon? The way that he's an alternate ben (race against time) actively hunting down other bens and turning them into slaves or just killing them is pretty damn dark since we don't know exactly how he ended up that way.

Personally I feel like Ben threatening the Forever Knights in "The Purge" from Ultimate Alien should've made the list. Ben straight up says "I promise you will regret it for the rest of your very short lives"

It stated that Ghostfreak’s race still live even in a small sample of DNA, so it’s mostly unique to him, currently Ghostfreak’s no longer connected to Zs’Skayr so Ben has full control. The episode where Big Chill took over was due to its reproductive instincts. The Ultimates were due to a glitch that was fixed.
Ben 10 was a big part of my childhood. So was Danny Phantom, Teen Titans, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Suite Life on Deck, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly OddParents, Back at the Barnyrad, and Scooby-Doo. Just to name a few
Both Alien Force and Ultimate Alien were meant to be much darker than the Original Series. They just decided to make it light hearted again for Omniverse

Ben 10 was not just any cartoon but rather a full blown story which matured along with its viewer base at least till alien time . This show had so much potential: - all about gwen's world and what not . Its a pity it degraded so bad .
There was also that time when Kevin absorbed Gwen's energy. That was shocking. There was also the two times that the universe was destroyed. There was also that time when Hope killed Ben and Gwen by having their souls sucked out and used to bring back her father.

I haven't seen Ominverse in a long time but I hardly think the " Feedback " episode was nightmare fuel. Like ya it was his favorite and it was like he lost a part of himself but I never felt scared over this. This was just a perfect opportunity for him to learn and use his other aliens
Ro_ cyberpunk I was creeped out by him even before he was revealed to be a villain. There was just something REALLY OFF about him. I’m not usually one who labels hugs as creepy, but I thought there was something really weird about Michael being so...um...close to some of the girls. Not his introduction scene per day, but after that, it just got strange.

Character designs for Ben , Gwen and Kevin in Alien Force are honestly one of the best i have seen
Yes. I loved it.
But the animation and detailing was less good compared to the OG.
Omniverse was very childish, especially with no eyes for Ben and grandpa (Though Ben looked very cute for some moments).
I like both ponytail and straight hair Gwen, but prefer her straight hair s1 and s2 alien force style

Not necessarily, what's said on the terrible shows wiki, the reboot has improved after the first season and it became more interesting to watch. Plus, the reboot is getting a new movie this fall called, "Ben 10 vs the Universe." My favorite season so far of that show is season 3 because it has Kevin in it, and brought back Humongusaur and Rath. Plus, season 4 brought back Jetray after being absent from Omniverse.

The scary part of Zombozo threatening Ben’s Family wasn’t even him doing that, it was what Gwen did to Zombozo.
What exactly did Gwen do?

She turns into her alien form and begins to grow really large, towering over Zombozo as she threatens him. Then it zooms in on him as he screams in terror. Next scene Ben and Kevin are running in to find Gwen eating cotton candy with Ben’s mom next to her. Zombozo is no where in sight and is never seen again.

Gwen ripped out one of zombozo’s eyes and ate it.
Then made Zombozo have a bad stench for the rest of his days until he dies and ripped out parts of his stomach and ate it too leaving his ribs’ Skelton exposed that leaves so villains throwing up and contemplating suicide. It was implied due to Gwen eating cotton Candy. Temporary form of anodite not being a cannibal by a technicality.

Gotta' say, the fact Charmcaster's sacrifice of all life for her father's return to life is not on here is a bit sad. To me it's one of the moments that is the darkest of all the series showing the raw desperation of one to be reunited with a departed loved one. Yes, the alien from Area 51 is a good example of losing an entire family but Charmcaster's resurrection method for her father answers the darkest question: If you could do it, would you?

I really love that line.
This isn't a dark moment, but I still thought it was upsetting. In the episode "Alone Together", Ben and Reinrassig (Reiny) have to survive on a desert planet and we learn why the Highbreed wanted to wipe out the entire universe. Later, Reiny loses his hand after saving Ben's life and Swampfire repairs it, which was very heart-warming to me. They find the teleporter and Reiny says that he will stay on that planet because he's now 'unclean' because of what Ben did and the amount of time they spent together. Ben then gets home and his response to Gwen when she asks if Reiny got away is "I doubt it".
It was upsetting to me because Reiny was willing to sacrifice himself for his people. It showed that the Highbreed really weren't that bad somewhere deep down in there. I don't know if anyone will agree with me and I don't really care, I just wanted to get this out.
Remeber that episode it was nice.
That is a very wholesome episode. Showing ben's maturity as a hero.
If I recall, Reiny only stayed behind not as a sacrifice, but because he was so prejudiced he didn't believe he deserved to live anymore because he wasn't a purebred. It was only after all that time in solitude, that he realized how dumb he and the other Highbreed were for thinking like that, that they were on the verge of extinction because they inbred so much they were sterile and couldn't continue living until Ben dispersed random DNA into them.

That's just one of the best episodes in the entire series
I guess the Alien Force episode with Grandpa Max's "suicide" wasn't hardcore enough to make it on the list🤷
I was waiting for it, it changes ben maybe if they mentioned ben10000 first appearance aswell when he went all serious but nothing very dark came from him. But only mentions how he "left vilgax into pieces"

@@redhood7650 At the end of the episode Max turns a null void projector into a hand grenade and sacrifices himself to stop the Highbreed. Ben has to watch this and believes Max is dead for the rest of season 1. It's not until season 2 that we find out Max is alive BUT he DID infact try to kill himself to save everyone. The grenade sent him into the null void by accident. Dark but noble stuff.

In the Omniverse. Universe was destroyed, but Ben use Alien X power to create a near copy of his universe. That's mean everyone died but Ben create copies of his friends in new universe.

yeah this is my biggest problem with omniverse. It's a serious moment for sure, but the series and ben himself treats it like a joke.
What about that episode in Alien Force where Gwen tries to prevent Kevin from mutating but then in the future Hex and Charmcaster won, Kevin got turned evil, Ben was captured and injured, and Gwen got killed by Charmcaster so that the Gwen that time travelled had to reverse the effects of the time travel.

I always thought they roughed him up and left him to die but survived. When I saw on the wiki that he was deceased I didn't believe until Kevin said that he was in fact dead. Made me super sad to hear that Pierce really did die.

Missed opportunity not to mention when Vilgax in Omniverse killed every incarnation of Ben throughout the multiverse ( except no watch Ben) or when even the fact that when Ben recreated the universe everyone he originally knew is technically dead and he's living with clones basically.
Yes, that last one is as hardcore as omniverse got. When you think about it, a story of Ben coping with that reality would be a really good story. Instead of just missing the smoothies from his original universe. Still, Omniverse was awesome.

I'm not sure if it counts, but what about in forge of creation, when Ben revealed that at least some of his joking and treating things like a big game were really just a coping method for everything he has to deal with. Particularly because the Ben who says it isn't the 16 year old one, it's the 10 year old.
The Omniverse episode "And then there were none" where Ben sacrifices himself for Non-Omnitrix Ben was one of the best moments. "Remember it's just a gadget, be the Hero"

I’m surprised storylines from Omni verse weren’t included in this video. Malware’s origin story was pretty dark. Especially given his history with Azmuth. Not to mention the feedback storyline where we learn how Ben lost that transformation in the first place and how he basically became depressed as a result of its destruction at the hands of malware.

There was one more darkest thing in Ben 10: In the original future at the age of 20 Ben lost his childlike glee of being hero, resulting him more serious and mutilate Vilgax. This event caused Ben stay in different kinds of aliens, but most at the time at XLR8 during 10 years.

Watching that Stockholm Syndrome episode as a kid was so confusing. Looking back on it years later, it was a very dark episode
I never liked that episode because Ben is really underestimated the writers made him weaker than he really is, even Young Ben was more savage than Teen Ben and would have probably taken out Captain Nemesis in less than 5 minutes. Out of all the aliens he could have used, he used the less useful. He could have used Diamondhead or Chromastone and reflects / absorb the blast. He could have gone Ultimate and ended the fight were he nearly died or could have used his second most powerful alien, Waybig and be all like

@@Nameless82284 the main problem with all of the omnitrix's excluding the alien force one before ben tampered with it was that he would hit the dial too hard and the watch would transform him into something else. The watch was not even designed for a human it was designed for someone with the same size as Azmuth. Ben slaps the watch way too hard. This was explained later in omniverse. And the ultimatrix was a huge mess it was an incomplete prototype which ben wore for the whole span of ultimate alien because the old omnitrix self destructed and the new one from omniverse was still in development. If you remember correctly you would know ben also couldnt stay in ultimate form or any alien form for a long time because the ultimatrix was too limited and weak.

Ghostfreak never failed to give me nightmares back then. The only reason i stopped having nightmares about him is because I started to had the balls to watch courage the cowardly dog as a kid

Sure, it has issues, but when they focus on a good plot, it stands on par with some OG episodes. I mostly enjoy the hour-long specials. Innervasion, Ben Gen 10, Ben 10 vs the Universe, the special with Alien X hunting down alternate Bens (I forgot the episode name) those are awesome!

Don't forget the origins of the DNAliens. I remember in episode 1 or 2 Ben killed alot of DNAliens by crashing their ship into a mountain. It looked awesome at first, until they learn where DNAliens actually came from.
What about eon? The way that he's an alternate ben (race against time) actively hunting down other bens and turning them into slaves or just killing them is pretty damn dark since we don't know exactly how he ended up that way.
Eon is really an alien using the Omitrix to stay alive. Ben just happens to have it in most universe/timelines

@@zidanedidi agreed it would be awful and it also made you think what about the other lifeforms in their. They all seem to be alive even tho it was just a few cells taken from the alien. But it also makes you think if Ben is truly Ben in the show or a mix of different alien personalities.
It stated that Ghostfreak’s race still live even in a small sample of DNA, so it’s mostly unique to him, currently Ghostfreak’s no longer connected to Zs’Skayr so Ben has full control. The episode where Big Chill took over was due to its reproductive instincts. The Ultimates were due to a glitch that was fixed.

So was Danny Phantom, Teen Titans, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Suite Life on Deck, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly OddParents, Back at the Barnyrad, and Scooby-Doo. Just to name a few
I barely remember American Dragon: Jake Long. I never watched Randy Cunnigham.

Both Alien Force and Ultimate Alien were meant to be much darker than the Original Series. They just decided to make it light hearted again for Omniverse

I hated Omniverse too.... the art style, the way characters were treated, those weird and stupid looking new aliens and the comedy!!! I wish it all ended in ultimate alien. Seriously I dislike Omniverse so much that I like to think its not cannon
Ben 10 was not just any cartoon but rather a full blown story which matured along with its viewer base at least till alien time .
This show had so much potential: - all about gwen's world and what not .
Its a pity it degraded so bad .

There was also that time when Kevin absorbed Gwen's energy. That was shocking. There was also the two times that the universe was destroyed. There was also that time when Hope killed Ben and Gwen by having their souls sucked out and used to bring back her father.
6:19 I don't know what's more intimidating: Malware being able to just RIP aliens from the Omnitrix like that, or the fact he sounds EXACTLY like Megatron from Transformers Animated.
6:32 not only that but It was a turning moment on ben's life as that was the original reason Ben quit being a Hero in the time lapse between original Ben 10 and alien force.

I haven't seen Ominverse in a long time but I hardly think the " Feedback " episode was nightmare fuel. Like ya it was his favorite and it was like he lost a part of himself but I never felt scared over this. This was just a perfect opportunity for him to learn and use his other aliens
I gotta say...the professor paradox episode was the creepiest and still my favourite Ben 10 episode

Ro_ cyberpunk I was creeped out by him even before he was revealed to be a villain. There was just something REALLY OFF about him. I’m not usually one who labels hugs as creepy, but I thought there was something really weird about Michael being so...um...close to some of the girls. Not his introduction scene per day, but after that, it just got strange.
Also he creeped on Charmcaster who had a crush on him. She kicked his ass later but still.😳
