    There are a lot of myths and misinformation floating around about hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).
    It’s important to correct these myths and make sure that the information being put out there is accurate.
    So in this video I’m going to address the five most common myths that I hear about hyperbaric chambers & HBOT.

    Another highly informative and concise video. More people should know about HBOT. Your channel is definitely helping with that Dr. Sonner. I am curious to know about your own personal HBOT routine? :)

      I believe I've covered it in another video, but I can't remember which one. Perhaps this one: th-cam.com/video/WKCIr535qqo/w-d-xo.html. But basically 3 or 4 times a year I do a larger protocol (40ish hours) and in between I do sporadic sessions (maintenance protocol). The exact protocols vary based on my travel schedule (when I have access) and how I'm feeling.

    If I use a lower ata.soft chamber, I can increase the time to compensate it. The effect should be the multiple of pressure x oxygen % x time. Even if you have lower pressure , u can increase the other two factor to make it equal

    My hyperbaric chamber came with an Ionizer separate from the compressor. The Compressor goes into an ionizer then goes into the chamber to pressurize the chamber. 95% of slow flowing oxygen is being brought to a nose cannula from an 02 concentrator into the HBOT chamber. QUESTION: Is this ozone coming from the ion box? If so, isn't this bad to breath? What Purpose does it serve?

    Is there any research on exercise like weight and or running in hbot with increased oxygen levels?

      It would make sense…. Increase demand while exposed to increased pressure would drive even more oxygen however it really has not been studied from what I’ve seen.

    WHEN ITS BETTER TO DO HBOT BEFORE OR AFTER SAUNA ?

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could argue that it's better to do sauna first because heat is a vasodilator, which will help circulate more oxygen. BUT...in my experience, because increases in pressure also increase the temperature (meaning it can get warm in the chamber), you may get uncomfortable if you get all heated up in a sauna and then continue to be hot in a chamber. So I usually recommend doing sauna after. Ultimately it's up to you and what you're comfortable with.

    Talking of myths, wherever you look on the internet, you read that oxygen has no odor. However, for me, there is a very obvious odor on first breathing oxygen after air. (The technician assured me I was breathing uncontaminated oxygen). Can anyone confirm that I am not hallucinating? I wonder if it is something genetic, with some able to smell and others unable (like the odor of urine after eating asparagus).

    In other videos youv mentioned that 1ATA equals 14PSI, but in this video you say that 2ATA equals 14PSI . Which is it ?

    • @HBOTUSA

      Understandably confusing!!
      Every atmosphere of pressure is 14.7 psi.
      So 1 atmosphere is 14.7 for sure.
      On a chamber, we typically differentiate between absolute pressure and gauge pressure.
      Right now at sea level the pressure is 14.7 ata (atmosphere absolute)
      If I had a chamber and no one was being treated the gauge would read zero pressure even though the atmosphere is technically still 14.7.
      When we add 1 more atmosphere of pressure to the chamber the chamber would read 14.7 on the gauge….. but the person inside would be receiving 2ata (1 from the environment and 1 more from the chamber)
      I know that can be a very confusing way to talk about this but does that help clarify?

    WOW! "1.5 ATM is about 7.5 psi and 2 ATM is about 15 psi, and therefore twice as much pressure"?? No, no, no! 1.5 atm is about 22 psi and 2 atm is about 30 psi, or around a third more pressure.

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well psig or psia? The numbers I am giving are gauge values. So we are already gettin 14.7 psi right now from the atmosphere without the chamber. So the question is how much additional pressure are we getting from going into the chamber. Those are the numbers I am referring to. That is the 7.5 and 14. The numbers you are giving re including the current atmosphere pressure as well. The point I a making is simply how much more are you being exposed to in the chamber at different pressures. Thank you for the comment.

      @@HBOTUSA Well, the body responds to ambient pressure, right? You stated that 1.5 atm is about 7.5 psi and 2 atm is about 15 psi and therefore twice the pressure - which is simply incorrect. It may be twice the additional pressure, but you don't say that - and it affects your credibility in my mind. By the way, I apologize for the tone of my original comment. My criticism could have been stated in a more constructive way.
      Oh, and don't most (or at least many) soft chambers utilize an oxygen generator? MIne does. That changes the O2 saturation levels at various depths much more dramatically. Just saying...
