It was only by a lucky chance that Yu and Seraphim's intentions coincided. Madness.
The first transformation was a summon out of despair. The next is a controlled transformation that Yuu controls, kinda. The fact that the Salt King wants to wipe out the humans is because they sinned with the injection of angelic blood in humans for creating weapons. It's a sacrilege to the heavens.
The manga at that time did not have the color scheme 100% finalized. So they just put what they wanted. By the end of the second season the real designs in the manga was finalized.
Look, I know it's supposed to be symbolic, because the other God he's facing, but they chose Salt, and then dubbed it, and kept calling it the Salt God.
It had a good reason that Yu didn't attack vampires as the King of Salt. Seraphs only attack humans because they go after people who break taboos. Vampires do not break taboos because of their lack of greed. Spoilers: Yu will not be able to control his seraph until midway through s3. Yu will try to control his seraph by giving more power to Asuramaru. They broke the plot a little bit but the scenes are good. It just needs explaining to the anime audience(the taboo thingy)
Abaddon vs yu does happen in the manga tho. It's just that in the manga, seraph yu doesn't struggle at all against abaddon unlike the anime and simply one shots him with a casual swing of his sword.
