Would love a dedicated Mirabilia episode! Thank you for showing The Proper Stitch book, it looks like an amazing reference to have! I’m going to go search for it now!
Good morning, the next day of your taping. I too live in BC. Love your owl chart, beautiful how to change up the stitches. So awesome. Going to subscribe, love your description of every piece you do. Great video, thanks for making my morning.
Oh how fun! I want to do a Joan Elliott too, I’ve never done one! A Mira video is def in the works! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 thank you so much for stopping by this am and spending some time with me :)
Congratulations on your big finish. I know that feels good! I love all your WIPs, especially the owls. I was intrigued when you did something similar with your Wizard of Oz piece. I would love for you and Samantha to do a joint Mirabilia, et al, video. I collected the patterns for decades, but have never stitched one. (insert shameface) My mother stitched tons of MLI and NC patterns, tho, and I inherited some of them, which is special. Really like the pattern you chose to start this month (Happy Birthday!). My eye keeps going to that rabbit.
Awww thanks for your kind comments and taking the time to share a bit about your collection! You definitely should pick one to start for Mira May! Maybe one that reminds you the most of your mom? I best you have some treasures in your collection! The Mira video is in the works as we speak 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Happy stitching 🧵 🪡
Love all your videos! I think a video on how you go about stitching a Mirabilia would be great! I have one and I’m a little afraid to start it! 😂 any help would be appreciated.
You are doing a beautiful job with the owls. I did the wizard of Oz last year with DMC threads and was disappointed by the result. It looked so plain compared to some pictures I had seen ! I realized too late that Owlforest designs, although beautiful, are rather basic. To enjoy doing them and make them unique, you have to let loose pour fantasy : use special threads and other stitches... Otherwise, one soon gets tired of stitching owls 😊
Thanks for tuning in today! Yes the floss makes the OFE patterns so lovely :) I do end up changing most of their patterns I’ve stitched to add a little sparkle or texture. It’s a fun one to play around with for sure :)
Yes Oh Yes, I'm very interested in your Mirabilia way of stitching. But I have got to know how and where did you get the way you stitched the owl wings. I've got to know. Wow !
Perfect! The Mira video is in the works 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 As for the owls it’s all free hand, think of a paint by number where I’m working in the same outlined area as cross stitches are specified but I’m painting with thread with colors as I please. Variegated floss makes this really fun! Thanks for stopping by this am :)
I love hearing all and everything Nora/Mira. Love Fairy Idyl...she looks amazing. Love the Owl stitch as well. Thanks for sharing and hope you nad a fabulous Birthday ❤
Fun and interesting video to watch, as always 😊 Your "Tree of hope" finish looks perfect, you did a great job and I love watching your progress with the rest of your projects, and yes the "Dutch Beauty" has a special place in my heart 🥰 Oh, I almost forgot to wish you happy birthday and I can't wait to see your new ,(birthday,) start, it's a beautiful choice, "says as she drools looking at all the gathered beautiful materials arrangement" 😍😍😍🧵🪡
Haha that’s awesome! I’m drooling right along side you :) Thank you so much for the kind comments and spending some time with me. Fairy Idyll has posed some challenges so fair but now I’m over the hump and ready for Mira May!
Your pieces are very inspiring. What part of Canada are you from. Enjoy the diversity from one stitcher to another. Have a great week-end. Stitchingly Coco
Thank you for sharing, and congrats on your Tree of Hope finish! I especially love the embroidery customizations that you're doing on 100 Owls to make them look more realistic.
Thank you for spending time with me today and for your kind comments. I’m really enjoying the freestyle with the 100 owls project - so much fun :) Happy stitching! 🧵 🪡
Oh My Gosh! Such beautiful stitching! Congratulations on your Mira finish! It’s spectacular! Your dragon is really coming along. He is magnificent! I love how your stitching the owls. The different stitches look fantastic. I needlepoint and embroider as well as cross stitch and there are so many different stitches to explore. Fun! Thank you for sharing! Happy stitching!
Thanks for tuning in this am and sharing all your kind comments 😊 The wonderful thing about needlearts are the endless stitching opportunities! Even looking through The Proper Stitch or similar books I’m always surprised at all the stitches that are unknown to me - so many! Happy stitching 🧵 🪡
Your finish looks great! And I love your owls. I would be very interested in a Mira video. I have several patterns, but they just seem intimidating to me. I make up all sorts of excuses not to start them, but I should probably just dive in.
Yes 100% dive right on in!! The stitching is easy! The beading is simple enough (leave it till last though ;)) there’s a Mira video in the works! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Your stitching is beautiful!!! Love seeing the progress on 100 owls, your different stitches in the bodies and faces is just gorgeous, wow!!!! You should be really proud of that 😍 I personally would absolutely love love love if you and Samantha did a video on getting a Mira started; I've been stitching for over year now but have not yet attempted a Mira. After watching you and Samantha, I am so motivated to start one. Also, your wip wheel is so much fun! Thanks for sharing, I find your channel very informative and you have a nice soothing voice ☺️ Have a great week and happy stitching!!
Wow thank you so much for all the very kind comments ❤️ The Mira video is in the works 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 we would love to share our Mira process and maybe it will enable you to jump right on into fancy ladies - they are SO FUN!!
Hello, Arica! Great to see your Flosstube and all your gorgeous stitching! Love the embroidery you chose to do on your Owl Forest Embroidery piece. 😍😍😍
Thanks for tuning back in Joanne :) and thank you for your kind comments. I’m really happy how the dragon is turning out so far - just wait till I add at the gold!
Oh wow the embroidery looks so good on the owl! Great job! I've never thought about doing that, but so clever!! I just can't get enough of the TW dragon on the red. It's looking amazing! Excited for your bday Mira :)
Thanks so much Andrew 😊 I’m also really loving the dragon on the red but I really need to decide about what to do with the blue mesh background and 1300 blue beads…. I’m thinking to switch all of the blue to gold??
@@FibersandFlossCanada Oh gold could be really pretty! I'd need to look at the pattern as a whole again, but I think gold would be a fun shine with the border and the red!
Hi Arica, your owls look amazing with the special stitches❤. I searched for the book “The proper stitch” because I was interested by your flosstube. The special stitches look quite challenging and interesting. Did you ever stitch a chatelaine pattern and did you think it was difficult? A big hug from Sophia
Thank you for the kind comments and big hug 🥰 I have purchased Holland in the spring time and I am kitting it up but haven’t started it yet - I am dying too! I have done some canvas work and I really enjoy the different stitches. I find them to be much easier than you anticipate them to be, especially with good step by step instructions :) What about you??
@@FibersandFlossCanada oh wow, I hope to see your start on Holland in springtime soon😍. I live in Holland and love the tulips, mill, sailing boat and all the colours in the pattern. I just discovered the patterns and I am still a little overwhelmed by all the special stitches. I think I want to start a smaller one first, but I don’t like them as much as the one you have chosen😄. Maybe it’s the best way to practice a little with the step by step instructions which I can probably find on the internet. Thank you for your kind answer. Have a nice weekend and happy stitching.😘
@@sophiadejonge4878 yes me too! I’ve been kitting it up and can’t wait to start it! We have family in Maastricht and I love it there so much! The way of life is so much nicer than North America. For learning specialty stitches, you should check out Jeanette Douglas patterns. They are smaller and offer a variety of stitches if you want to get comfortable with stitching something different. Honestly every pattern will have a few new stitches to learn. Or dive into a chatelaine and take it one step at a time :)
@@FibersandFlossCanada hello Arica, I think it is so sweet of you to send me a suggestion for specialty stitching. I saw some Jeanette Douglas designs already and I think they are great. They are also available in two shops here in the Netherlands, so I might check that in our summer holiday❤🥳. I can see your progress on the chatelaine first and will dive into it myself another time. Thank you so much😘. Maastricht is beautiful, all the different sceneries here in the Netherlands make it worthwhile to visit once. I live close to the water on the other side near to Middelburg.
