my grandson was non verbal, up until the age of 4 , now he won't stop talking. we could not understand anything he said but now we are having real conversations with him . he is 6 now and was recently also diagnosed with severe adhd and ocd. he is on a very low dose of medication. he is doing so well now ,it's truly a miracle!!!

I love how you worded that, “embrace the life” it is true that as parents we go through a lot of different emotions when we first find out and as soon as we can embrace the life and choose joy even in the hard times it makes such a difference. So happy to have you here! ❤️❤️❤️

It’s good to see that Simon knows how to say “I don’t know”. I think I was at least seven years old (if not eight) before I was able to say that. I think I was at least nine or ten before I could consistently say that, though. I guess that is one of the differences between being level one like Simon and having a lot of speech therapy and being level two like I was growing up and having almost no speech therapy.

It looks like Ezra’s making an effort to use the toilet even when he’s not feeling well. That’s a very good sign in regard to his toilet training progress.
When I was growing up if I had a stomach bug (like Ezra seems to have here) I would usually only use the toilet without being reminded by the time I was nine years old. Before that (for example by age seven) I would usually use the toilet when I was sick if I was reminded to but I didn’t like it.
Based on that you might be making a video about toilet training Ezra within the next year if he continues making progress in his area.

When my kids start to get sick we use some incredible tools that are native to the body and we are able to turn around those sick days so quickly that we hardly even need to miss school anymore! It's been a game changer. It's also been a huge benefit for friend of mine who's 18yr old son has sever Autism. It's given him a dramatic improvement in his communication and capabilities. Message me if you'd like to know more!

I just watched the video on your other channel where Ezra was up all night screaming around two years ago (give or take) and I remembered that when I was around that age that I often had Colds, Ear Infections, and Sinus Infections. When I had these things I sometime had a fever but not always. If he had a cold, sinus infection, or ear infection at that moment it might have caused ear or sinus pain. This can be intermittent. Even now I sometimes get intermittent pain when my seasonal allergies flare up and this can cause sharp pain in seemingly random locations (usually near the eyes, nose, or forehead) for a few seconds to a minute at a time. While it is rare it can even feel like tooth pain in my upper jaw sometimes. If Ezra was experiencing this it might explain why he was screaming at that time. Also I found that when I had Colds, Ear Infections, and Sinus Infections at that age that it was usually more noticeable starting around eight to ten PM and continuing until between about five and seven AM. If you notice that his symptoms occur on approximately this schedule it could be this. From what I remember at this moment my ear infections, sinus infections, and colds were most noticeable from about age six to around age ten or eleven (give or take).

Ezra is so similar to my son Mendy who is 10! Lol we also have locks on our fridge and my son grabs my hand all the time everywhere also! Its funny because when my son is under the weather like that he doesn't really act so sick like this either and walks around the house and grabs food and has to be watched after also so we as moms cant just relax when they are not feeling well also! My son elopes too and finds his way to different rooms in our apartment and has to be watched so he doesn't touch something he shouldn't or put something in his mouth and he makes a huge mess! It's like they are themselves when they are under the weather but not really themelves because still a bit weak so it's like they are fine but not 100 percent to go to school so it's tricky!!

@@madiArabellavery interesting. I am 60 years old and was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome now called ASD and ADD in my mid 40s. I also am deaf in one ear and have a moderate to severe loss in the left as well as Depression, which were diagnosed at age 5 and 18 respectively. I was exposed to Rubella in utero. Since I was born in the 60s and very high functioning as well as gifted as I grew older I was just thought of as a very weird, eccentric child. Very little was known about these disorders back then. Even individuals with Level 2 or Level 3 Autism was considered intellectually disabled with no discernible cause. My dad used to always say, “you’re always in your own world.” And indeed I was. It wasn’t until my 40s via psychiatric interviews with my family, myself and testing was I diagnosed. I now take medications and require assistance with keeping my home life stable. However, I have a Master’s degree in the biological sciences and am employed in a STEM profession, which I love.

I have a son very similar to Ezra what I can tell it looks like a nightmare but after all the work that I’m putting in day after day no speech no acknowledgment of word object association . And my girlfriend refuses to have any more children because she says this one is enough. So I will never have a relationship with a Neuro typical child. I will never be able to pass on my knowledge. To share music with my child. Unless it’s an extremely diminished watered down capacity. But I have to pretend that it’s OK. I love my child very much I just wish that he and I would one day be able to have a normal relationship lots of parents never get to have normal relationships with any of their kids unless they have a bunch of them and they’re able to have some semblance of a normal family . Instead of teaching my son how to play guitar I will endlessly try to get him to talk. Speech therapy. Non stop only for him to end up. Completely alien to me.
