Humanity was on the Eurodam and the Zandam. I love the music on Hal, we are in our early 40’s and it’s the pace we feel relaxed and more like we actually had a vacation. The food is also amazing, get a garlic roll from the pasta station at the lido, it’s their signature roll.
We are dedicated HAL cruisers and the Music Walk and main theatre always have top notch entertainment! Not just on the Rotterdam! We love HAL but we were hoping to keep it “ our secret”. Now you’ve done it!
We love HAL and we are your age so not OLD!😉 Now don’t miss the 3 o’clock tea (I know it sounds boring) but such a nice and lovely experience. You will be surprised how they have everything set up in a very Royal kind of way!

You're gonna love it! I think they are the best of the mid level, premium class cruise lines! I've closed down BB King's nearly every night on board. Felt half my age lol!
HAL is our favorite cruise line. Love the Music walk it was a game changer for HAL. Check out BB Kings club you will love listening to BB King Band, Shawn Sounds and Jon the guitar player. They are awesome!!!
I'm a "dyed in the wool" HAL cruiser, and I've never had a problem with the music, always top-notch, especially BB Kings" Blues. Super musicians!. World Stage is a great venue for the performances. Happy cruisin', Don!
We've only been on one HAL cruise. It is absolutely our favorite for so many reasons. We'll cruise other lines but we prefer Holland. So incredible and hits many marks.

I just came off the Koningsdam 4 weeks ago and that show was terrific. I cruise HAL a lot and that music walk is so nice and entertaining, I booked a Rotterdam cruise so I could watch again. That screen I experienced in 2017 on the Koningsdam and it was my 4th time on that ship since !!
Hi Don, we just got off the Rotterdam when you got on in Amsterdam. You are taking the same Norway cruise that we did. We came into Alesand the sameday you left (yesterday). We flew to Southampton and hopped on the Queen Mary 2 Sunday, but we are doing a different Norway cruise before heading to New York on the QM2. I agree with you about the Rotterdam shows and Music Walk. But for me the music is too loud for me. But it is all the latest hi-tech. Transferring to the QM2 is a big change from the Rotterdam.
I've always wondered why many people knock Holland America! It's not just for old people like many say it is! Our first cruise in 2004 was on Holland America Zuiderdam it was fantastic! Looking to do more on Holland America again!
It was boring for me. I went in 2000 on the Maasdam when I was 20. I don’t remember a damn thing about any entertainment. I scarcely saw anyone my age on that ship. I don’t even remember the pool. Glad my sister was with me. It was a family reunion but my sister and I were the youngest and it wasn’t a bad cruise, but it was forgettable. I do remember the excursions being fun.

We saw the Humanity show on the Koningsdam two years ago and it was fantastic. Whole heartedly agree with your comments. We love Holland America and we're not old!!
Don, you have to go on all dances performance. They are all better and better . All different style of dance each show. It’s spectacular what they do ♥️♥️
I thoroughly enjoyed the Blues Club on my last two HAL cruises. I think they were my favorite. They do have a good variety of entertainment on their ships. Something for everyone.
My one and only cruise was Holland America in 1980. Went from NY,NY to Bermuda in April. What a great trip, loved every minute. Volendam. Don’t even know if the ship is still in service. The crew was overwhelmingly Greek, fell in love with an officer on the ship, dated briefly. Fun times.
I saw "Humanity" on the Statendam in January. Will be on the same ship next month for a Northern European cruise. I agree, the entertainment on Holland America is great.

We did our first HAL cruise on the Koningsdam in April. We were so impressed with the Rolling Stones and the BB Kings bands. Ship and food was good too.
Been on Rotterdam 4 times, love HAL. Seen humanity show 3 times ... Loved it. I have always thought that Holland America was underrated but it is my favorite cruiseline. Glad you enjoyed it!
We' sailed on Celebrity for the first time this past spring. I think Holland America has better entertainment. Not only do they have theater shows, but they also have the terrific BB King's Blues Club, with fabulous musicians and singers. There is a wonderful piano bar, and Live from Lincoln Center brings string quartets to enjoy. We sail on HA next February around South America. Can't wait!
We cruised on the Rotterdam the last two weeks before it did the TA cruise. We enjoyed the dance shows as much as you did, very entertaining and professional. We are HAL fans and enjoyed everything on the ship from decor to staff and especially the food. Enjoy the rest of your cruise Don.

We saw Humanity on Nieuw Statendam in Feb/Mar. Probably the best, or at very least, one of the best shows we've ever seen on a ship. We sat high up bc of one of our party having mobility issues and it was fantastic from there, too.💗 Can't wait to see it again!

Just got off of the Koningsdam and The entertainment was fantastic. In the Lincoln Theatre if they do have a show on UK music (I think that’s what’s it called) take it in. I’m not a classical fan, but they had me when they did Coldplay’s La Viva Loca followed by the Beetles. Also, If they have American Billboard through the ages that’s a must see. Your stateroom really looks familiar. LOL!
We really love cruising with Holland America. They have such class! Great food, great entertainment, great crews! Cruising and vacation for our family should be relaxing. The crowd are laid back and just having a good time! No brawling!

I haven't been on it in a long time but we had our teenage son with us and he had a good time they had a teen club, food was very good service was good beautiful ship it was the Rotterdam. We were just on the Rotterdam last March to the Caribbean and it was a wonderful cruise. The entertainment was very good although not as "spectacular" as we've seen on other cruise lines. However, the lack of flash neon lights that we've seen on other cruise lines was much appreciated. The rock concerts were outstanding. The food and service were especially great. The food/service at the Tamarind was some of the best I've ever had- and it was on a cruise ship!! I am certain we'll be cruising with HA again.

We also liked a BBC earth film accompanied by the ship orchestra that they had one night. Our impression is that they have picked up their offerings quite a bit. Can't wait to go on our HAL cruise in September.
Don, so happy you are enjoying your HAL cruise. So often when I listen to the updates, HAL is rarely recognized. We love HAL - different size ships for different cruises. The Rotterdam is really special and I hope you take time to enjoy the artwork that are in the stairwells and elevator banks… so impressive! Be sure you go to t he Dutch Cafe and if you get to the Canaletto I hope Ross waits on you. If she does say hi from mam Sue and Sir Pete! Have a grand rest of your cruise - we enjoyed the singing group too!

The World Stages hold about 1/2 the ship passengers so unlike other some other ships the show is accessible to both early and late diners.

We love Lincoln Center Stage just to listen. Another favorite was the Dueling Pianos later at night. But we’ve always been happy with the rest.
