Mason is one of the funniest stand up comedians I've ever seen. Two of my favorite imitations he did was Ronald Reagan and Henry Kissinger. This video was darn good.
I was up watching TV with my Mom and saw Jackie Mason's last performance there on the Ed Sullivan Show. If you are too young and didn't understand the Hand Gestures at the beginning of this performance in this video it was all about his Ed Sullivan Show bit Everyone thought that Jackie Mason flipped everyone the Bird on that episode of The Ed Sullivan Show. I loved Jackie Mason ever since that same day. My Mom made me laugh so hard over what Jackie may or may have not done that my sides still hurt to this day May 17, 2020. Jackie Mason is deep in thought during his performances. He's the best then and is the best today. Thanks for making me Laugh, Jackie.
The first time I watched this was in like 2017 watching this episode of the Dean Martin show on TH-cam in the background and I was shocked by how timeless and contemporary this still felt
For those who don't get it, Jackie appeared on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964. Ed was signalling him that his time was nearly up by giving him hand signals. Jackie was pointing and gesturing back as a joke. Ed claimed that Jackie flipped him off. Sullivan, the single most important man in show business at that time due to the ratings on his program, banned Jackie from the program. Eventually it was straightened out after a lawsuit and Jackie made one further appearance on Sullivan two years later, with an apology from Ed. Jackie has said it took him "Twenty years to overcome what happened in one minute". The story is interesting and well worth looking into. It's hard for people now to understand the power Sullivan had at the time.
Yes, I heard about it years later as I was only 12 in 1964. I saw Jackie Mason on Broadway in his show "The World According To Me". Believe it's available on TH-cam. I highly recommend it. Anyone can enjoy Jackie's humor; however, it has a special meaning if you're Jewish (I am). RIP, Jackie.
I was listening to this in my headset with my phone in my pocket. Towards the end I pulled out my phone and was shocked to see a young Jackie Mason. He sounds exactly the same.
Wow - lot's of history that is even true in 2021. Jackie in 2018: “Now that he’s [Mitt Romneey] running for Senator for Utah, he’s taking a definite position. Except for one thing - he doesn’t know what it is yet. And he doesn’t know how soon he’s gonna have to change his mind,” Jackie says. “Because so far he’s changed his mind on every position he ever took.”
@@patrickturner2417 Actually, that was John Bynder _doing_ Jackie Mason: "Hey ant!" Byner _also_ did Dean Martin for the ant! "Man, dig that crazy aardvark!"

I worked with a Jackie for almost a decade. The greatest time of my life!
Jackie Mason is one of the few comedians whose material stands out in any era. It was funny then but it's even funnier now.

Jackie’s routine is over 50 years old and still very funny. That can’t be said for many comics from that time.

Thanks so much for explaining that quick remark. The sketch in question from The Ed Sullivan Show channel: th-cam.com/video/rNyniaaY7Vs/w-d-xo.html
Mason did a brilliant impression of Sullivan on one of his televised shows many, many years later in the 1990s. It wasn’t very flattering either !
RIP Mr Mason
Funniest Man on Earth. Smart, sharp, fast, adorable. A natural HIT. Sensational!

No one, copies Jackie Mason, they can't he is Jackie Mason. How could you steal that material?
So quick-witted and great material!
He's like a speeding train. He's already out of the gate, and we're still waiting at the station.
I have enough money for the rest of my life...unless I have to spend some...😆🤣🤣
R.I.P. Jackie Mason
RIP Jackie😥
this fuckin guy is hysterical
This is easily his very best performance! So quick, like Groucho Marx, you can barely keep up.
Absolutely brilliant!👍😆🤣😂
During LBJ's term, I'd guess 1967 to 68. His reference to Lady Bird, our then, 1st Lady was the clue.
Man I'm old - I saw this live.
187 billion dollar budget for the u s a , we should be so lucky. Talk about the good ole days.
If you can find his first album, you'll wet yourself laughing.
Genius
A comedian in demand in his prime, but times & tides change.
I gotta finga for you, and finga for you and a finga for you!
Evidently having trouble with the camereman on his left, so goe's with it with the jokes at face value...that improv talent.
"what language do you speak mister?? I'd like to make contact w/ you"...funny
Great comedian and his act looks a tiny bit like Don Rickels where he subtly digs the audience.
ULTRA JEWISH & OH SO ULTRA FUNNY!! HIS OWN STUFF IS UNIQUE & RITE ON & CLEVER & FUNNY!!!
Always funny, funny, funny.
Gr8 investment strategy: Save bread, not $.
“Hey mister. Do you know anything at all that I’m talking about?”
Funny stuff !

VERY funny man.
Jackie passed away 2 years ago in 2022 at 93.
