I just shaved my six month beard two weeks ago. Now, after watching this video I regret not going a year. I might have to start growing it again. Nice video.
I’ve spent 32 years in the military and finally retired (got 4 years on you in age); but this is the first time I’m starting a proper beard; EVER, in my life~ 4 weeks so far. My eldest saw me after a week and said; Dad, ya gotta shave it off, you look like Santa! 🎅 but she knows her Dad, when I’m set on something, I stick with it! I have managed to keep my head hair(albeit “silver” throughout); but I keep it short and sharp. I’ve been silver from about the age of 40 and have embraced it. My beard, in my mid 50s ~ happy to embrace that too.. probably won’t grow it out a year; but it’ll be mid length for sure; it’s getting there. Stay bearded brothers. God bless 🇺🇸 from a mate in Aus 🇦🇺 🦘
Hello Sir my fellow Beardsmen, I know this is late but Congratulations on your Yeard and Welcome to The Silver Beard Community!!! I absolutely 💯 agree with You to NEVER SHAVE 🪒 your Beard, it looks very luxurious as well kept and maintained!!! 👋🏾💪🏾💯🔥🔥🔥
Ty for sharing and going through same process- I’m 48 and feel great. I work in A deli and have to suffer putting my beard in a beard net . I do it cause I love the beard journey and you are spot on . Great beard brother. Life is good.
Had to comment. I am 2 days shy of my yeard. Mine looks about like yours, same color same shape. I think you have an edge in length. I decided to do it after kids asking if I was Santa after almost 4 months growth. Figured I'd look more the part if I let it go. By Christmas I'll have almost 16 months. Should be fun.
Grandpas pine tar soap is great, great beard brother, been growing mine for over 18 months and is down to my lower chest. I will never shave again, only light trims here and there and I do mean only light trims. Take care brother🙏
Great video. Have to say a big 'amen' to your comment about trimming the neck. Biggest mistake I have made so far. I started letting my short beard grow out in December 2020 but have paid a real price by trimming the neck line. Honestly it made my beard on both sides look very thin. About 8 weeks ago I stopped touching at all and it is finally starting to recover, suspect it will take another month or two to fully recover. Another amen to Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap, starting using it to wash my beard two times a week (or more if I have been doing something to make myself really sweating or dirty). Going to take your advise and start using it exclusively for my entire shower. Thanks for the video!
Listen, it's been on a few occasions that I've been called, Charles Manson .... It's no joke that we really do have to take the bad w/the good ... Awesome beard man!
I just started my beard journey about 2 weeks ago. I've never had a beard I would always shave about every 4 days except for my goatee. Bur I decided I wanted to try and grow a beard and I haven't shaved my neck or anything. The only thing I've done to it is trim my mustache because of like you said to keep food out of it. Also I don't ever worry about what the public thinks about how I look because for one reason I I have several tattoos on both my arms. But the main reason I always shaved is because my right is spotty. But finally I said what the heck let just grow and see how it looks after like 6 months.
@@dragline9353 I'm hoping it will look great also. I'm going to take your advice and just let grow a yeard without touching. Thanks for great advice that you gave to everyone.
Santa Claus? I will do a "ho ho ho" when a little kid stares at me. The parents get a bigger kick out their kids, than their kids' reaction to seeing Santa Claus.
Hey, I also do Jiu Jutsu.. I already have a decent beard(1/3 of what you have) Do you have any suggestions .Do you tie it while sparring or something. Also have a man bun btw
Thank you sir. Much appreciated. Just felt for about 10 years that I needed to do it. I circled a date on the calendar and started that day. You should do the same and no matter what commit to a year. You will be glad you did. Thanks again.
My beard is full like u brother, if I shaved my face, my ole lady woul b pissed n possibly cut me OFF😭 the longer it goes the MORE LOVIN I GET!....🥳🤠😎✌

Is it just me or is the feeling after shaving a Beard similar to PNC ?
absolutely. that's why I don't like to shave. the French call it petit mort or "the little death"
