I think it’s fair to say, what I love about Bangladeshi music is that it has so many layers which incorporates a lot of deep rooted village folk music alongside modern musical sounds so that it caters for the older generation of Bengali folks who are traditionalist and grew up listening to folk songs and for the younger generation of Bengali folks who enjoy modern music so that way just by virtue of this, it brings the two generations together. Coke Studio Bangla also invites and welcomes non Bangladeshis who simply love the language of music and are open minded such as yourself to appreciate the efforts of Coke Studio Bangla and their diverse use of amalgamating different musical sounds and concepts together. Wo mohilay chhad pit raha rain... It used be a tradition here in Bangladesh (But no more). When someone build a house, Jolchhad (WaterRoof) or water and heat resistance roof used to build like this. It took 6-10 women more than a month to complete their work. So they used to sing while bashing the roof with a blunt stick.

This song is basically a roof hitting song. That means the labours who started cemented roof works. They had a Sardar who used to sing a song to cheer their mode. They also used to sing with that leader.
