Your rice looks great! If I put mine on rice it will be a thick clump of rice, it is way to long for the rice to cook. It is sticky and just plain overcooked rice. I don't get it?
It would have been nice to see what your rice looked like as you fluffed it with a fork when it was done. I've seen other demos and it looks sticky and dry.
Trust me, it was 100% done. I have a pressure cooker from different brand and I set it for 7 minutes on medium pressure with 1:1 water to rice ratio and it comes out 100% cooked
Bisa banget. Saya baru aja beli mgg lalu karena lg discount juga, dan lgs bikin rendang. Lbh praktis dan cepet, gak buang2 wkt. Coba cari resep rendangnya "Okta Cooks" deh. Resepnya liat di Description ya
It will have helped to know how much rice to put in the pressure cooker before you began; though, I'm guessing two cups of water and rice. I initially thought that was when you were washing the rice.
Brown rice requires more time. InstantPot instructions: use a 1:1 ratio of water to brown rice and a regular pressure setting. I also activate the "warm" feature for a few minutes to soak up any remaining water.
I don’t disagree. I grew up only making it in a pot. I switched to a rice cooker in college because I didn’t have stove access all the time but it recently has worn out. The rice cooker was so convenient and I didn’t have to watch the water boil and worry about burning it. I love rice and eat it a lot so this was really great. I was thinking about getting another rice cooker but I may try to make it in my instant pot!
NEXT time folks, take your 3 cups of WASHED rice and dump it in your IP, then add 1 giant can of ROTEL, 3/4 cup water with 3 tblsp TACO SEASONING. Hit the rice button, you won't regret it!
@@monie1527 Thanks Monie, I do as well, even though I can cook rice on the stove top well. I retired my rice cooker from making Risotto and use the IP instead.
@@saimaanwar2846 Just checked it and turned out that 1:1 ratio is perfect. Pressure cookers need much less water for rice to be cooked because the water doesn't evaporate at all since the valve is sealed
Thank you for being straightforward without the bla bla
Finally somebody who actually uses the rice cooker function on an instant pot!
That is because I ate a samosa and the chicken rice so the Dr who orbital can wiggle out of it from the right hip 😂
If I use it on mine it is just a big clump of overcooked rice. I don't know why that is?
In my country, we do it with warm wather, Maybe you could try... @@marijketimmermans3913
You explained it and I'm still like, are you sure?😂
Have you tried? it works :) I used this instant every week. I steam, cook rice, cook meat, make soup etc
@@jolynndumais580 did u make palou rice in it some time?
Nice, straight to the point
I wish all people were like you. 🤐
Jasmine rice ba yan?
Thank you so much it helps me
Pressure cook -3 mins. I make it every week.
Wow ! Can you explain the measurements you use
1:1 water and rice. High pressure 3 mins. Release for 5 then all good to go!
@@avrillee311 thank you so much !
You are very welcome 😊
is this real
Thanks was the easiest way
Should i set it to pressure cook mode ??
So many comments on ratio of rice and water..if cook my rice on stove in regular pot then its 1:2 ratio..what about the ratio in pressure cooker?
Your rice looks great! If I put mine on rice it will be a thick clump of rice, it is way to long for the rice to cook. It is sticky and just plain overcooked rice. I don't get it?
I want one sooooo mf bad now! I love rice. I need a good Spanish black bean and rice recipe.
Check out my recipe (ABOVE) and add 1 can rinsed BLACK BEANS. It's soooo good!
Yuli did you make the Amazon shop so people can buy you things?
Lol i still just use my rice cooker and then i cook the toppings in the jnstapot! They both finish around the same time
Was that two cups of water. It looked like the cups were only partially full. 😮
2 cups of rice + 2 cups of water

@sunnicalifornia15 I'm glad it helped
IT WOULD BE NICE IF AN UPDATED VIDEO WERE SHOWN WITH THE ACTUAL RICE BEING FLUFFED WITH A CLOSEUP...NO BRAINER, RIGHT?
Haii kak, so happy menemukan akun ini. Sedang cari review instanpot krn lg diskon di amazon. Apakah bisa utk masak rendang ya kak? Trims

I wonder if I can use the porridge button for risotto?
It will have helped to know how much rice to put in the pressure cooker before you began; though, I'm guessing two cups of water and rice. I initially thought that was when you were washing the rice.
2 cups rinsed water + 2 cups of water
Self explanatory to me.
It adds salt itself?
and butter and its 2 cups of rice and 4 water cups and i add some caldo de pollo seasoning 😅
❤😂😢😅😊
i don't have rice button...
I use the same ratio but manual setting at three minutes.
Is parboiled rice any different?
Yes. The ratio of rice and water is
1 cup rice
1.5 water
Cooken
Lnd
How about cooking brown rice is it the same press the rice function?
Brown rice requires more time. InstantPot instructions: use a 1:1 ratio of water to brown rice and a regular pressure setting. I also activate the "warm" feature for a few minutes to soak up any remaining water.
That’s it? lol
Mine always sticks
Mine too
It’s not hard to cook rice in a regular pot bro 😅

in only 12 minutes 🤔🤔
It takes longer because it's 12 minutes after it comes up to pressure
should close valve or open it?😮
Close
You forgot to add salt 😊
Thanks for telling me how much rice to put in there but not how much water to put in
lol they literally showed putting in 2 cups of water. It's a 1:1 ratio of rice to water
You measured the liquid with a dry measure cup.
No bueno.
1 cup = 1 cup
Try it sometime… It’ll be okay 👍
Only rinsed 1 time? I thought you need to rinse 3 to 4 times?
it's actually 2, 3 it too much as you could damage the rice
I can’t put the time in mines 🥺
Press manually

I hope you mean the regular can of Rotel. Will give this a try, thanks.
@@dorothybrown8859 the Large can BUT can & I have made it with the "regular" size too. If so add enough water to make 3 cups. That's all! Yummy!

Thank you for washing the rice, but not oil or salt?
none. Plain rice and water
In south india, we dont do that
2 cups rice but 2 cups water?
Isnt it should be 4 cups water?
Maybe instant pot requires less water

Buongiorno per il porridge c'è il programma preimpostato mi dice 20 minuti ma mi sembrano troppi.😮
I cook my in 12 minutes and come out over cooked 👹
12 mins is for short grain which takes longer than long grain. Long grain needs just 5 mins.
Pressure cook for 3 minutes
Pp
So you’re using 4 cups of rice?
Nah. Pressure cookers require much less water for rice to be cooked. 1:1 ratio works fine
He should have told us that in the video...bad teacher
