William Shakespeare, a potted history and a few Sonnets to brighten up your day.
Join me as I look at William Shakespeare one of the most influential writers in English literature. He is famous for his 154 sonnets which were first published in 1609. Here, I read a few sonnets exploring themes of love, beauty, time, and mortality. Unlike his plays, which were written for the public, Shakespeare’s sonnets were more personal, possibly written for private circulation, they are often deeply romantic.
