Usually with those kind of RP, police tend to respect the conditions of the criminal to make it more fair, because the police have high spec cars and a lot of weapons Even more so when the criminal is working alone like in this situation And even outside of that, they usually stick to tasers unless the criminal starts using guns The police side can't have fun without criminals to chase around, after all
@@meiwasstruc2914 I always thought it's more because the criminal can't realistically use the hostage as a shield, or use other methods the game doesn't account for because of videogame jank, so instead they just give 1 demand per hostage or something like that. But I don't do RP. Also, it's more fun to chase the criminal, obviously.

Its a real thing where a laser is used to ionize air and turn it into a plasma, which is electrically conductive, and then sends a shock down the plasma channel. The concept was proven to work back in the mid 2000s. A company had a functional system which it wanted to sell to the US military as a way to remotely set off IEDs. Of course, the thing was mounted on a truck, which also had to haul around a giant generator to power everything, so, you might not be pulling it out to zap a fleeing fugitive, but the tech absolutely exists. The largest obstacle to making it human portable is, as with everything these days, how to build a battery that provides enough energy, while not being impractically huge.

Taser range is much shorter than pistol, even IRL so no wonder Botan can't hit Aki
The probes are attached to the taser by electrical cords so they only have a range between 15 and 45 ft depending on model
